A phase demodulation method immune to laser phase noise based on time-delay beat-frequency coherent Φ-OTDR is proposed. In this method, the two Rayleigh backscattered light beams with time delay are beat with local light beams respectively, and the phase difference of the two beat signals is used instead of the traditional distance-difference phase to obtain the local disturbance information. In this way, the impact of laser phase noise introduce by the distance-difference phase is avoid, and the constraint of laser linewidth on phase demodulation performance is weakened. In the experiment, a demodulation accuracy of -63.5dB rad 2 /Hz is achieved under the condition of a laser with a linewidth of 100kHz, which is improve by 11dB compared to traditional phase demodulation method.

Unified Modeling Language (UML) is used to model and design the software requirements. Among various components of UML, class diagram is employed to model the software requirements in terms of objects organized in classes and relationships between them. In real life applications, it has been observed that a system may have several requirements and it is not possible to model each and every requirement because of time, budget, and other constraints of an organization. Based on our review, we found that, in literature less attention is given to the modeling of the software requirements from the selected set of the requirements using UML class diagrams. Therefore, to address this issue, in this paper we present a method for modeling of the selected set of the software requirements using UML class diagrams. The applicability of the proposed method is discussed with the help of the software requirements of an institute examination system. © 2020 IEEE.

Complex Pathways to Cooperation Emergent from Asymmetry in Heterogeneous Populations

Cooperation within asymmetric populations has garnered significant attention in evolutionary games. This paper explores cooperation evolution in populations with weak and strong players, using a game model where players choose between cooperation and defection. Asymmetry stems from different benefits for strong and weak cooperators, with their benefit ratio indicating the degree of asymmetry. Varied rankings of parameters including the asymmetry degree, cooperation costs, and benefits brought by weak players give rise to scenarios including the prisoner’s dilemma (PDG) for both player types, the snowdrift game (SDG), and mixed PDG−SDGinteractions. Our results indicate that in an infinite well-mixed population, defection remains the dominant strategy when strong players engage in the prisoner’s dilemma game. However, if strong players play snowdrift games, global cooperation increases with the proportion of strong players. In this scenario, strong cooperators can prevail over strong defectors when the proportion of strong players is low, but the prevalence of cooperation among strong players decreases as their proportion increases. In contrast, within a square lattice, the optimum global cooperation emerges at intermediate proportions of strong players with moderate degrees of asymmetry. Additionally, weak players protect cooperative clusters from exploitation by strong defectors. This study highlights the complex dynamics of cooperation in asymmetric interactions, contributing to the theory of cooperation in asymmetric games. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

Crypto-currency markets are known to exhibit inefficiencies, which presents opportunities for profitable cyclic transactions or arbitrage, where one currency is traded for another in a way that results in a net gain without incurring any risk. Quantum computing has shown promise in financial applications, particularly in resolving optimization problems like arbitrage. In this paper, we introduce a differential evolution (DE) optimization algorithm for Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) using Qiskit framework. We elucidate the application of crypto-currency arbitrage using different VQE optimizers. Our findings indicate that the proposed DE-based method effectively converges to the optimal solution in scenarios where other commonly used optimizers, such as COBYLA, struggle to find the global minimum. We further test this procedure’s feasibility on IBM’s real quantum machines up to 127 qubits. With a three-currency scenario, the algorithm converged in 417 steps over a 12-hour period on the "ibm_geneva" machine. Detection Data Characteristics and Recognition of Tunnel Fissure Water

Tunnel fissure water may induce geological disasters of mud bursting and collapse during the construction stage. Therefore, it is important to automatically extract and identify fissure water in front of the tunnel face for tunnel construction. The paper performs diffraction migration imaging of seismic data after P/S wave separation, and the imaging results reflect the three-dimensional distribution of undesirable geologic bodies. Second, based on the geologic bodies obtained above, ground-penetrating radar detection is added to identify alternative area of fissure water at the peak point of the A-scan. The boundary point of the alternative area of fissure water is located at the peak point where the phase of the reflected wave and the incident wave are reversed. Finally, the area with a larger amplitude and smaller frequency than the surrounding rock is screened as the target area among the alternative area, and the distribution of fissure water is labeled in the B-scan. The method is applied to the mileage section K38+440$\sim$+320 of Liangwangshan Tunnel in Yunnan, and the forecast results show that the rock bodies near the mileage section K38+440$\sim$+410, K38+410$\sim$+380, and K38+350$\sim$+320 is more fragmented, the fissure water is developed, and the target area is verified by excavation. © 2023, The Authors. For the problem of heterogenous fleet dynamic vehicle rounting, a memetic algorithm was proposed to optimize the minimum vehicle number and transportation cost. In order to improve the global exploration ability of the algorithm, an improved distribution estimation algorithm is used in the pre-optimization phase of global search, Quantum genetic algorithm is used in real - time optimization. The client node reset and 2-opt algorithm are adopted to enhance the local search ability of the algorithm. Finally, the validity of the algorithm is verified by simulation experiments. © 2020 IEEE.

The emerging neurorehabilitation technology, Brain-computer Interface (BCI), provides a novel prospect for stroke recovery. However, decoding brain activity during the movement present substantial challenges, and feature extraction is crutial to build a better decoder. In this study the CEBRA method were employed to extract features first based on electroencephalogram(EEG) data during Motor Execution(ME) and Motor lmagery (Ml) tasks for 20 participants (including 10 stroke patients). The results revealed that, in MI tasks, CEBRA-RF (Random Forests) achieved an average classification accuracy of 91.33%, with an average F1-score of 91.19%, and CEBRA-SVM (Support Vector Machine) achieved an average classification accuracy of 91.32%, with an average F1-score of 90.83%. Due to the inherent non-stationarity and individual differences present in electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, developing a generalizable model that performs well on new subjects is challenging in EEG-based emotion recognition. Most existing domain adaptation (DA) methods typically mitigate these discrepancies by aligning the marginal distributions of domain feature representations. However, when there is a significant difference in the class-conditional distribution between domain features and labels, the domain-invariant features learned by aligning marginal distributions may have limited discriminative ability for unlabeled target instances or even prove counterproductive. To address this issue, we propose a Neighborhood Semantic Aware Learning-based Dynamic Graph Attention Convolution (NSAL-DGAT) approach that learns target semantic information by considering the inter-domain semantic topological structure, thereby improving classifier adaptation for target instances. Specifically, the proposed NSAL framework is designed to capitalize on the insight that after domain feature alignment, some target samples and their neighboring source samples exhibit similar semantics. By leveraging the neighborhood topological structure, we extract and incorporate semantic target features to train a more transferable classifier. Besides, we implement an entropy weighting mechanism to emphasize representative target semantic information, encouraging target instances to prioritize high-confidence individuals within the source neighborhood. We have conducted extensive experiments on the public SEED dataset and our collected the Hearing-Impaired EEG Dataset (HIED). The experimental results underscore the efficacy of our proposed NSAL-DGAT approach, showcasing state-of-the-art accuracy in subject-dependent as well as subject-independent scenarios. Ocular current stimulation (CS) exhibits potential for the treatment of neurodegenerative ocular diseases. For a full field electroretinogram (ffERG) we found no CS effect on the characteristic waves (a-wave, b'-wave, and b-wave). To investigate whether the orientation of the generated electric field has an influence on the CS effect, this study repeated the previous ffERG study with changing one CS electrode position and compared the results of both studies. In the first study 15 (8 m, 27.5 ± 4.5 years) and in the second study 17 (7 m, 22.0 ± 1.9 years) healthy volunteers were stimulated with an anodal, cathodal, and sham direct CS of 800 μA for 5 min in three sessions (randomized, different days). For both studies, a cut-sized ring rubber electrode was placed around the eye. A square rubber electrode was placed for the first study at the ipsilateral temple and for the second study at the visual cortex. Before (ERG 1) and during (ERG 2) the CS, the ffERG was measured. For both studies, the difference between the ERG 1 and ERG 2 measurement (CS effect) for the three characteristic waves was analyzed and compared between the studies. For statistical analysis, the Mann-Whitney U test with Bonferroni correction was applied (α = 0.05). The comparison of the data distribution showed only slight differences between the studies. The Mann-Whitney U test found no significant difference of the CS effect between the studies for all amplitudes and CS groups (p ≥ 0.0055). In the mean, the latency differences were smaller than the time resolution, therefore no statements for latency effects were possible. It can be concluded that the retinal cells generating the ffERG are not affected by ocular CS in either electrode montages tested. © 2021 by Walter de Gruyter Berlin/Boston.

In high-energy particle physics, extracting information from complex detector signals is crucial for energy reconstruction. Recent advancements involve using deep learning to process calorimeter images from various sub-detectors in experiments like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for energy map reconstruction. This paper compares classical algorithms—MLP, CNN, U-Net, and RNN—with variants that include self-attention and 3D convolution modules to evaluate their effectiveness in reconstructing the initial energy distribution. Additionally, a test dataset of jet events is utilized to analyze and compare models’ performance in handling anomalous high-energy events.
