The driving performance and fuel economy of hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) largely depend on energy management strategy. The principle of power system energy management for HEV is presented in this paper, and energy management strategies from the country and the abroad are reviewed, their advantages and disadvantages are also analyzed. The paper concludes the existing problems of those strategies, and looks forward to the development trends of energy management strategy. Aiming at the problem of the misbalance in practical and global optimization using traditional energy management strategies, a new energy management strategy for HEV based on Pontryagin's Minimum Principle (PMP) is developed, which research the intent of the driver and the operation state identification of HEV based on Markov theory, in full consideration of the people-vehicle-road influence on power management control system, and finally , the problem of global optimum in energy management in case of variation of real operating conditions is solved.

The steel corrosion affecting study is important for industries and companies as well as for manufacturers of these material types. AISI SAE 1045 steel was used in this study, due to its frequent use. A specimen's series were prepared which were induced in an aggressive environment with the aim of degenerative process accelerating by increasing the material corrosion impact by altering the material mechanical properties. 15 specimens were exposed to the fog bank chamber, likewise 15 specimens in saline immersion chamber all with different exposure times 15. 30, and 45 days, subsequently the specimens are the impact test subjected to by the method of Charpy obtaining the tenacity value. To determine these values, the ASTM E23, ASTM A673 and ASTM E739 standards were used.

RF chain reduction for MIMO systems: A hardware prototype

RF chain circuits play a major role in digital receiver architectures, allowing passband communication signals to be processed in baseband. When operating at high frequencies, these circuits tend to be costly. This increased cost imposes a major limitation on future multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication technologies. A common approach to mitigate the increased cost is to utilize hybrid architectures, in which the received signal is combined in analog into a lower dimension, thus reducing the number of RF chains. In this work we present a hardware prototype implementing analog combining for RF chain reduction. The prototype consists of a specially designed configurable combining board as well as a dedicated experimental setup. Our hardware prototype allows to evaluate the effect of analog combining in MIMO systems using actual communication signals. The experimental study, which focuses on channel estimation accuracy in MIMO channels, demonstrates that using the proposed prototype, the achievable channel estimation performance is within a small gap in a statistical sense from that obtained using a costly receiver in which each antenna is connected to a dedicated RF chain. Furthermore, in the considered scenarios, this gap becomes negligible when the reduction rate, i.e., the ratio of the number of RF chains to the number of antennas, is above 62.5%. Fault Detection of the Mooring system in Floating Offshore Wind Turbines based on the Wave-excited Linear Model

Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWTs) are more prone to suffer from faults and failures than bottom-fixed counterparts due to the severe wind and wave loads typical of deep water sites. In particular, mooring line faults may lead to unacceptably high operation and maintenance costs due to the limited accessibility of FOWTs. Detecting the mooring line faults is therefore critical, but the application of Fault Detection (FD) techniques has not been investigated yet. In this paper, an FD scheme based on a wave-excited linear model is developed to detect in a reliable way critical mooring line faults occurring at the fairlead and anchor ends. To reach the goal, a linear model of the FOWT is obtained by approximating the wave radiation and incident wave forces. Based on this model, an observer is built to predict the rigid rotor and platform dynamics. The FD scheme is thus implemented by comparing the Mahalanobis Distance of the observer prediction error against a probabilistic detection threshold. Numerical simulations in some selected fault scenarios show that the wave-excited linear model can predict the FOWT dynamics with good accuracy. Based on this, the FD scheme capabilities are demonstrated, showing that it is able to effectively detect two critical mooring line faults.

Biomass concentration is an important indicator of production rate in polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) fermentation process. In current practice, measurement of biomass concentration is done off-line by laboratory analysis that is unsuitable for online process monitoring and control. Soft-sensor is often used as an alternative that provides an estimate of hard to measure parameters from easy to measure process data. However, most of these studies use simulated data or data generated from mathematical model that was developed without full consideration of process and measurement uncertainty. In this study, a soft-sensor is developed from real production data for PHA fermentation in pilot-scale bioreactor with the appropriate data pre-processing techniques applied to process data that was obtained from this system. Multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network is used to estimate biomass concentration using secondary process parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature, pH and agitation speed as inputs. Different models are developed based on different batches of production data and various network architecture in order to study the appropriate integration of process data and network topology that gives the best model accuracy. Results indicate that the biomass soft-sensor developed using MLP-ANN provides a better estimate of biomass in comparison to radial basis function (RBF) neural network and support vector regression (SVR) methods. The developed soft-sensor can be further used in monitoring and control of production output.

Piezoelectricity comes as a principle of transformation of mechanical energy into electrical energy, it is limited in terms of investment, time and research, due to this fact, the need arises to be able to innovate with data collection on the most used models to collect and generate electrical energy. In this research, the literature regarding the generation and collection of electrical energy using piezoelectric materials was analyzed, from this analysis, fifty innovative articles were determined in the last three years, which were reflected in a data matrix, in which It presents the generation and collection element, the applications, and shows the performance in terms of power or voltage that the prototypes supply. With the results of the table, a condensed panorama of current data is obtained, about the most used and outstanding of this form of little-used energy, but which is a competent and efficient alternative for the generation of electricity.

The paper presents a flexible and efficient method to secure the access to a Web site implemented in PHP script language. The algorithm is based on the PHP's session mechanism. The proposed method is a general one and offers the possibility to implement a PHP based secured access to a Web site, through a portal page and using an additional script included in any site's page, which is required to be accessed only by registered users. This paper presents a new multi-DOF flexible micro-displacement manipulator based on ferrofluid for high precision micro-displacement manipulation. It is aimed at achieving a flexible, smooth and precise control of multiple degrees of freedom micro-displacement by utilizing controlled ferrofluid. The mover of the proposed manipulator is suspended on the ferrofluid affected by the combined magnetic field coupled by a permanent magnetic field and a controlled electromagnetic field. Then the proposed manipulator can be manipulated by changing the strength of the combined magnetic field, which is adjusted by the input current. In addition, the proposed manipulator also can effectively eliminate the disturbance to the micro-operation caused by vibration during operation since the mover is totally supported by ferrofluid. The finite element analysis is also performed to observe the magnetic field intensity changes in ferrofluid with different excitation current, which verifies the rationality and feasibility of the proposed manipulators. Consequently, the proposed manipulator has a significant potential for applications where the high precision micro-displacement manipulation, such as microinjection system.

This work aims to describe the construction of a low-cost functional prototype of an electromechanical hand with opening and closing capacity. The device, built on an ABS filament extruder, is actuated by a MG995 high torque servo motor, controlled by an Arduino-UNO R3 board, from the processing of electromyographic signals carried out by: MyoWare Muscle Sensor. The realization and functional evaluation of the device is developed in six phases: The first is to select the thermo-deformable materials, the second is to select the electronic components; the third phase is the design of the electromechanical hand prosthesis, the fourth phase was the construction of the mechanical parts; the fifth phase is the development of the control program on the electronic card; and the sixth phase of the project consists of validating the developed prototype by observing its opening and closing through the oscilloscope. Due to the low cost of development and ease of reproducibility (because it is built under the open-source philosophy), this work is expected to make a contribution to the disabled community, especially the one with limited resources.
