The candidate of students have difficulty in determining which college to choose. This difficulty is due to the lack of information about the college to be addressed. One of the actions that can be taken to introduce the campus is bypromoting to high schools. To find out schools that need an in-depth introduction to the X campus, it is necessary to make a prediction system that can show the possibility of the number of registrants from these schools that are still small. In this study, a comparison between the SVR and ANN methods was carried out to determine the best model in predicting the number of prospective applicants from each school. In the process of model formation, the optimal hyperparameter is found in the model using gridsearch. To determine the best model, researchers used the smallest RMSE value obtained from both models. Based on the RMSE results obtained, the ANN model RMSE value is smaller with a value of 0.04929599755078 so this model is the best model. However, after calculating MAAPE, the ANN model has not been able to predict well. copy;2023 IEEE. © 2023 IEEE.

The Model Predictive Control (MPC) concept and its realization is explained together with some real-world laboratory application examples. Usually, future control errors and control action changes are penalized in the cost function (objective) by predictive controllers. The cost function can be seen as a function of future control actions utilizing the process model in a form of the predictor. A derivation of the predictors for the transfer function (external) and state-space (internal) model is indicated in the paper. An analytical solution to the given optimization problem is possible in an unconstrained case. A quadratic programming strategy must be used in case of the occurrence of the process constraints that should be respected by the controller. The authors apply both algorithms to two types of dynamical systems—to proportional (stable) system and to integrating (unstable) system and they demonstrate the influence of the penalization parameters (weights) in the cost function on the control quality. The authors aim to highlight the MPC strategy and its potential, and on the other hand, mention some bottlenecks and risks associated with model-optimisation-based methods. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Data growth has led to the need to apply new ways to process data. Graph databases are increasing their use, which can be seen over the years, with the Neo4j system being the most common. The biggest problem is the small number of implemented constraints that can be used. One of the shortcomings to be explored is the need to create domains, which are used when large amounts of data are manipulated and where the value needs to be limited or when multiple attributes have the same restrictions and data types. The creation of domains can be applied multiple times. This paper summarises the implementation of domains using Neo4j and the Java programming language. © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

This system is designed to monitor vehicles and provide information about their position and movements, par- ticularly in the event of an accident. The system can detect factors that commonly contribute to accidents, such as changes in speed, tilting, and collisions. The data is collected from three types of sensors: the ADXL 345 accelerometer, the tilt sensor, and the crash collision sensor. The system uses LoRa communication technology, which is affordable and easy to implement. To test the system's performance, LoRa modules were tested under two conditions: Line of Sight (LOS) and Non-Line of Sight (NLoS). The tests used a spreading factor between 10-12 and a bandwidth of 125 kHz and 250 kHz. The results showed that the data from the sensors accurately reflected the measurements taken by the transmitter device on the receiver device. © 2023 IEEE.

The authors are presenting Process Control Laboratory at the faculty of electrical engineering and informatics, University of Pardubice. The laboratory is equipped with six GUNT training systems covering common technological variables such as level, flow, pressure, temperature, speed, and position. The authors created SW support for MATLAB and Simulink environment. An internal part of the GUNT training systems is the LabJack U12 data acquisition card. LabJack Dynamic Link Library (DLL) is used to operate training systems from MATLAB. Authors created the M-S function to allow experimenting from Simulink. String-matching algorithms are concerned with lo-cating specific patterns within larger strings or text files. This problem of exact sequence matching is studied in various fields of molecular biology, data compression, and information retrieval. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to address problems that string matching algorithms have when used on DNA sequences. The main obstacles are the pattern and text lengths that are used as input data. The main content and the whole goal is to adapt the parallel string matching problem to a larger size of text and adapt exact brute force to fit the idea of a DNA matching that can not have 100% matching. To achieve that idea is to implement naive k-mismatches that allow matching to 99% which is acceptable when talking about DNK sequences. © 2023 IEEE.

This study employs machine learning to analyze the relationship between air pollutants and climatic and geographical factors in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, using data from January 2022 to November 2023. A strong correlation was found between PM2.5, PM10 (r=0.99), and seasonal increases in O3, SO2, and NO2 during the dry season, highlighting the influence of weather and geography on air quality. Utilizing the CRISP-DM framework, the study offers insights for urban planning and pollution mitigation. Predictive models demonstrate significant potential for forecasting air quality, with performance metrics such as RMSE, MAE, and MAPE underscoring their accuracy. The findings advocate for integrated monitoring and strategic urban planning to improve air quality, emphasizing the role of machine learning in environmental science. © 2024 IEEE.

Finding the inverse z-transform of a rational function is usually considered a completely routine task with nothing special to say about it. However, practically all the procedures described in the engineering literature for doing this task can be very laborious for manual calculation when the function whose inverse z-transform is sought has multiple poles. This is often a problem for students when solving homework and exam tasks. The situation is particularly awkward when the poles are ugly numbers. Additionally, the described procedures are very unsuitable for programming on a computer. This paper proposes a simple, elegant and student-friendly way to calculate the inverse z-transform of a rational function. In addition to the basic variant, which is most suitable for manual calculation when the poles are relatively nice numbers, there are also variants that may be more suitable in other cases, including a variant that is extremely suitable for programming on a computer, even on the programmable calculators. © 2023 IEEE.

Determining the position of an object is one of the most important things in the era of the internet of things. Long range with LPWAN technology such as LoRa allows the position of objects to be sent to a receiver. In this study, an evaluation of the performance of LoRa transmission was carried out on an object moving at speeds of 10 Km/hour and 20 Km/hour, carried out in an open field. Next, trials were carried out by circling the residential area. Data was obtained for several locations, the data was not successfully sent to the receiver even though the distance between the transmitter and receiver was within range. In the final section, a discussion is carried out regarding the amount of path loss under different environmental conditions, measurements are carried out at several different times: morning (07.00- 08.00), afternoon (12.00-13.00) and afternoon (12.00-13.00). The result shows that there is not too much influence of the path loss value received on differences in environmental temperature and humidity values. At the end of the discussion, the doppler effect on LoRa transmission is carried out. © 2023 IEEE.

A planar array design is required to satisfy several performance metrics of application to be supported. There are at least two performance metrics that generally can be fulfilled by a planar array, namely radiation pattern and gain. In this paper, the feasibility of power-weighted planar array design using a uniform-Kaiser weighting configuration is investigated. A 4 × 8 planar array is designed based on Kaiser function from an optimal 1×8 Kaiser-based linear array of 4 units to achieve a sidelobe level (SLL) suppression of 29 dB. The main feeding line for a 1 × 4 linear array is using a feed probe that supplies a corporate feeding network with a uniform distribution. In fact, a planar array has a variety of design possibilities. However, for the proposed 4 × 8 planar array, it has a compact design with a little complex configuration to accommodate power-weighted method properly. This is evidenced by the results of characterization, in which the lowest reflection coefficient (S11) value of -19.18 dB occurred at the frequency of 3.1 GHz. In addition, SLL suppression on the x-axis (φ of 0°) is 22.43 dB to 22.98 dB, while on the y-axis (φ of 90°), it is 13.56 dB to 15.81 dB. © 2024 IEEE.
