Nowadays, the need for isolated bidirectional DC/DC converters is growing. In these types of equipment, the dual active bridge topology is widespread, where mostly the transformer leakage inductance value determines its dynamic behavior. Voltage imbalance between the primary and secondary side results in unwanted excessive transformer peak current if the leakage inductance is low, thus limiting the load transient response of the converter. In this paper, a ripple current control method is pre-sented, which reduces the transformer peak current to its minimal level, furthermore, allows the magnetizing current components to be distributed between the primary and secondary sides in an ar-bitrary proportion. The proposed control was tested in HIL simulation and on a real 360kW dual active bridge converter. Based on the results the current stress on semiconductors and DC capac-itors were reduced while the utilization and the efficiency of the converter were increased. © 2024, European Association for the Development of Renewable Energy, Environment and Power Quality (EA4EPQ). Visible light communication(VLC)has a paramount role in industrial implementations,especially for better energy efficiency,high speed-data rates,and low susceptibility to ***,since studies on VLC for industrial implementations are in scarcity,areas concerning illumination optimisation and communication performances demand further *** such,this paper presents a new modelling of light fixture distribution for a warehouse model to provide acceptable illumination and communication *** proposed model was evaluated based on various semi-angles at half power(SAAHP)and different height levels for several parameters,including received power,signal to noise ratio(SNR),and bit error rate(BER).The results revealed improvement in terms of received power and SNR with 30 Mbps data *** modulations were studied to improve the link quality,whereby better average BER values of 5.55×10^(−15) and 1.06×10^(−10) had been achieved with 4 PAM and 8 PPM,*** simulation outcomes are indeed viable for the practical warehouse model.

Recently,nano-systems based on molecular communications via diffusion(MCvD)have been implemented in a variety of nanomedical applications,most notably in targeted drug delivery system(TDDS)***,because the MCvD is unreliable and there exists molecular noise and inter symbol interference(ISI),cooperative nano-relays can acquire the reliability for drug delivery to targeted diseased cells,especially if the separation distance between the nano transmitter and nano receiver is *** this work,we propose an approach for optimizing the performance of the nano system using cooperative molecular communications with a nano relay scheme,while accounting for blood flow effects in terms of drift *** fractions of the molecular drug that should be allocated to the nano transmitter and nano relay positioning are computed using a collaborative optimization problem solved by theModified Central Force Optimization(MCFO)*** the previous work,the probability of bit error is expressed in a closed-form *** is used as an objective function to determine the optimal velocity of the drug molecules and the detection threshold at the nano *** simulation results show that the probability of bit error can be dramatically reduced by optimizing the drift velocity,detection threshold,location of the nano-relay in the proposed nano system,and molecular drug budget.

Visible light communication(VLC),which is a prominent emerging solution that complements the radio frequency(RF)technology,exhibits the potential to meet the demands of fifth-generation(5G)and beyond *** random movement of mobile terminals in the indoor environment is a challenge in the VLC *** model of optical attocells has a critical role in the uniform distribution and the quality of communication links in terms of received power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).As such,the optical attocells positions were optimized in this study with a developed try and error(TE)*** optimized optical attocells were examined and compared with previous *** novel approach had successfully increased minimum received power from−1.29 to−0.225 dBm,along with enhanced SNR performance by 2.06 *** bit error rate(BER)was reduced to 4.42×10−8 and 6.63×10−14 by utilizing OOK-NRZ and BPSK modulation techniques,*** optimized attocells positions displayed better uniform distribution,as both received power and SNR performances improved by 0.45 and 0.026,*** the results of the proposed model are optimal,it is suitable for standard office and room model applications.

Origami Microfluidics: A Review of Research Progress and Biomedical Applications

In recent years, origami/paper folding art has been applied to more and more scientific research due to the efficiently producing tiny structures at a low cost;inspired by this, origami microfluidics (the combination of origami/paper folding with paper-based microfluidics) has also been proposed. In origami microfluidic devices, three-dimensional fluid paths can be formed directly by folding the paper with pre-deposited hydrophobic barriers to accomplish complex fluid manipulation. Compared with the layer-by-layer approach, paper folding is more convenient and easier to fabricate three-dimensional microchannels and can meet the increasing requirements of microfluidic end users and improve the functionality of paper-based microdevices. This review is trying to introduce the most current developments of origami paper-based microfluidics, focusing on hydrophobic barrier processing, paper folding, and methods to fix the folded paper. By paper folding, the application prospects of paper-based microfluidics in the biomedical field have been expanded;thus, some biomedical applications of origami microfluidics are also briefly reviewed in this study. A novel multi-cost function model-based finite-set predictive control method is presented for grid-side converters equipped with LCL filters. This approach aims to overcome the tedious tuning of weighting factors. In the method, the cost functions are established based on various state variables and their references. Then the control options are ranked based on their performance in each of the cost functions. This ranking score determines the selection of the optimal control action. The control method is validated in a low-cost custom Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environment using model-based rapid-prototyping tools of Matlab/Simulink. Structural analysis of antenna configuration is becoming prominent for drawing up behavioral characteristics of the antenna. This paper deals with the permeability characteristic analysis of planar antenna configured by a spiral resonator (SR) shape. The analysis is performed by modeling the SR shape planar antenna using its equivalent circuit to formulate the permeability (μ) of antenna. To calculate the parameter of parts in the equivalent circuit, including resistance, capacitance, and inductance, the formula of Clausius-Mossotti suitable for SR structure are implemented, thereby obtaining the effective impedance of antenna. Based on these formulations, behavioral characteristics of the antenna are observed, and its permeability characteristic as the frequency dependency is then visualized. It shows that the effective permeability has the real value of -2.5 at the lowest frequency of 0.1GHz, which is relatively unchanged to the number of spiral turns. Meanwhile, the imaginary part shows the frequency trend shifts to the lower frequency as the number of spiral turns increases. © 2024 IEEE.

Healthy lung sounds are produced by airflow during normal breathing. Normal lung sounds lack additional sounds such as rhonchi, wheezing, stridor, or crackles. Abnormal lung sounds result from airflow through an impaired respiratory tract. This research classifies normal and abnormal lung sounds using the YAMNet model, a deep-learning model capable of identifying normal and abnormal lung sounds. The dataset for this research was obtained from Fortis Hospital India and Kaggle. The study involved comprehensive preprocessing of lung sound signals, including sampling at a frequency of 4 kHz, segmenting the lung sound signal for 6 seconds, and smoothing the signal using the Wavelet Smoothing technique, as well as Min-Max Normalization. A 10-fold cross-validation technique was employed, where each iteration used one of the ten parts as the test dataset and the other nine as the training dataset. This model was trained and tested using a 10fold cross-validation technique with an average accuracy of 92.02%. The research yielded accuracy values of 89.81%, precision of 88.53%, recall of 89.74%, and an F1-score of 89.14%. © 2024 IEEE.
