The use of classification models to predict the probability of an employee leaving the job can greatly improve the ability of human resources to intervene in a timely manner and rectify the situation to prevent attrition. After the so-called "The Great Resignation", which took place after the pandemic period, studies on attrition have increased in order to regain the lost workforce and increase the loyalty of existing employees. In Turkey, however, studies in this field remain insufficient. The aim of this study is to predict the possible loss of employees, to take relevant measures and to reduce the financial losses of companies. The study was made available as SaaS (Software as a Service) based in order to facilitate accessibility to the target audience. For the analysis phase, the columns in the data set were analyzed with Pandas and Scikit-Learn library. Exploratory Data Analysis was performed by visualizing the analyzed data with Plotly and Seaborn libraries. Various insights were obtained with these inferences. The data was subjected to pre-processing stages such as cleaning, missing data completion, scaling, feature selection, data set balancing, dimension reduction, etc. to make it useful. Logistic Regression, KNN, SVM, Desicion Tree, Random Forest, ADABoost and Naive Bayes were used to train the model. In order to enrich the data set and increase the efficiency of the model, artificial intelligence-based synthetic data generation (Data Augmentation) was performed. In case of missing columns in the trained model, KNN-Data Imputation, one of the missing data completion methods, was used. In the optimization process of the model, hyperparameter optimizations were performed to achieve maximum efficiency with improvements. 5-fold cross-validation prevented the model from over-learning. Performance was analyzed on the basis of Accuracy, Recall, Precision and F1-score metrics and the success criterion was determined as F1-Score. The model was presented as a web se

Wireless body area networks (WBANs) have recently become a topic of interest due to their large number of applications and the rapid development of individual gadgets and devices for medical purposes. The model in this study, called a "cell-free WBANs" scheme, is developed on the basis of a cell-free multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system where a lot of access points (APs) serve a number of sensors simultaneously. A new system model where the sensors are distributed around the body and communicate directly with APs rather than through a coordinator is proposed. The interference due to simultaneous signal transmission from multiple sensors is taken into consideration, and the transmission power control algorithm for uplink data is developed to enhance the spectrum efficiency of the system. According to simulation results, in all considered scenarios, the proposed system’s performance is considerably improved in comparison with the small-cell model.

Efficient and fair material distribution is crucial in both supply chain management and emergency situations. Existing research is still immature in terms of issues such as the shortage of materials and uncertainty in customer *** paper proposes a new two-stage vehicle path planning method to address the imbalance between supply and demand of relief materials (e.g., food) and demand uncertainty in emergencies, such as war,public health crises, etc. Synergistic two-stage routing problem integrating automated mobile loading (AML) systems and trucks (A&V-TSRP) To optimize the fairness and efficiency of material distribution, a Mixed-Integer Non-Linear Programming (MINLP) model has been *** study innovatively considers distance factors and demand uncertainties, proposing a fair and efficient distribution strategy. The improved algorithm combines adaptive large neighborhood search as well as not allowed search with enhanced operators, greedy selection, and an exchange strategy. An empirical study, based in Shanghai Pudong, verifies the model and algorithm's effectiveness, showcasing a total cost reduction of 18.73% compared to the Gurobi solver and reductions of 27.28%, 20.96%, and 28.58% compared to three other heuristic algorithms. In addition, AMLs combined with trucks reduced the total costs by 37% and saved 42% in delivery time compared to using a single truck. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Maximizing Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is an essential technique in photovoltaic (PV) systems that guarantees the highest potential conversion of sunlight energy under any irradiance changes. Efficient and reliable MPPT technique is a challenge faced by researchers due to factors such as fluctuations in irradiance and the presence of partial shading. This paper introduced a novel hybrid Equilibrium Slime Mould Optimization (ESMO) MPPT-based algorithm combining the advantages of two recent algorithms, Slime Mould Optimization (SMO) and Equilibrium Optimizer (EO). The ESMO algorithm is compared with highly efficient MPPT-based techniques such as SMO, EO, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO), and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), both under a Simulink environment and a real-time experimental laboratory setup using a Dspace1104 controller and PV emulator. The comparison focuses on performance under several irradiance cases, including instant irradiance change, partial shading, complex partial shading, and dynamic partial shading. The key advantage of ESMO is the fact that it has a single tunable parameter, which makes implementation much easier and, at the same time, reduces the computational resources that are required by the control system. Extensive testing proves the superiority of ESMO over all other techniques, the average efficiency of which is 99.98% under all conditions. Additionally, ESMO provides fast average tracking times of 244 ms under simulation experiments and 200 ms for real-time experiments. These results show that ESMO can be very important for future implementation in large-scale solar PV systems. © 2024

Unconstrained Face Verification is still an important problem worth researching. The major challenges such as illumination, pose, occlusion and expression can produce more complex variations in both shape and texture of the face. In this paper, we propose a method based on Monogenic Binary Pattern and Convolutional Neural Network (MBP-CNN) to improve the performance of face recognition system. For each facial image, the proposed method firstly extracts local features using Monogenic Binary Pattern (MBP) which is an excellent and powerful local descriptor compared to the well-recognized Gabor filtering-based LBP models. Then, we use Convolutional Neural Networks which is one of the best representative network architectures of deep learning in the literature, in order to extract more deep features. Thus, the developed MBP-CNN has robustness to variations of illumination, occlusion, pose, expression, texture and shape by combining Monogenic Binary Pattern and convolutional neural network. Moreover, MBP-CNN was more accurately represented by combining global and local information of facial images. Experiments demonstrate that our method provided competitive performance on the LFW database, compared to the others described in the state-of-the-art.

An effective method for estimating the mutual coupling in finite, arbitrary arrays of rectangular waveguide apertures is discussed. It relies on evaluating the admittance matrix relating rectangular waveguide modes, its entries being computed by means of an interpolation strategy with demonstrated accuracy. The method's strength is demonstrated by means of a twofold numerical experiment: (i) the estimation of the mutual coupling's effect on the scanning performance of two relatively large, (non-)uniform arrays and (ii) the estimation of the coupling between two large, interleaved, non-uniform sub-arrays representing the transmit and receive antennas of a frequency-modulated, continuous wave radar system.

Servovalves are one of the most important components of the complex machinery of space exploration. They have to be at the perfect condition for safe and efficient operation of very valuable complex machines. In this paper, use of wavelet transformation (WT) and adaptive resonance theory 2 (ART2) type self learning neural network (NN) combination is proposed for detection of defective valves. The current signature of the energization stage of the valve was encoded by using the WT. ART2 classified the approximation coefficients of the WT. WT-NN classified all the normal valve data in single category and assigned new categories to the data of defective valves as long as the vigilance was selected properly. WT-NN combination was found an effective alternative to customized diagnostic software if the operating conditions change drastically

System engineering of computer integrated manufacturing

He is recognized in the industry for his work in systems integration and systems effectiveness. His extensive engineering background includes design of logic circuits and control systems performance reliability assessments and analysis and quantification of weapons systems effectiveness. Dr. Habayeb has published several papers reports and a book entitled Systems Effectiveness. Dr. Habayeb previously served as dean of the faculty of engineering and chairman of the electrical engineering department at Yarmouk University in Jordan. Dr. Habayeb has taught systems engineering courses at the University of Maryland and The George Washington University. He holds several patents in the field of switching circuits and data communication and is a senior member of IEEE and Sigma Xi.

Technologies to manufacture affordable systems are of very high interest to naval aviation, the Navy, other services and industry. The current environment of downsizing and continued budget reduction is causing DoD to seek effective methods to improve the affordability and availability of critical devices. Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) and flexible manufacturing (FM) proved to be the appropriate choice for cost effective manufacturing. CIM deals with the effective utilization of computers and automation in manufacturing to improve production (quality yield, cycle time) and reduce the unit product cost. This paper uses a system engineering approach to formulate the architecture and design of an infrared focal plane array CIM factory. A system engineering approach deals with the total issue of building systems: the determination of the requirements, establishing the architecture, performing system partitioning and integration of hardware and software, applying the evaluation measures (metrics), and doing design tradeoff analyses of options and alternatives. At a given partitioning level, system integration is the process of blending hardware and software building blocks into a unified functioning whole. Computer integrated manufacturing is considered the integration of mini-factories (clusters of workcells) through a distributed computing environment (DCE) and the automation of manufacturing processes.

Among these were the Trident II fire control and navigation systems the BSY-I Anti-Submarine Warfare System and the Navy standard computers (UYK44 and EMSP). He served as manager of the Digital Circuits Engineering Branch and was then appointed as manager of the Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Technology Division. As manager of the ATE Technology Division he was responsible for the SP-23 Fire Control System Support Project the SP-24 Navigation Project and the Fleet Progressive Maintenance Program (2M/ATE). This Division was responsible for selection and application of electronic product technology and for developing fleet test and repair techniques. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Evansville and is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Administration at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Dr. Alfred Skolnick:retired from the Navy in 1983 with the rank of captain. He is president of System Science Consultants (SSC) specializing in strategic planning technical program definition technology assessment and engineering analyses on selected matters of national interest. Dr. Skolnick taught mathematics and management sciences at University of Virginia and Marymount University. He is adjunct faculty at Northern Virginia Community College. From 1985 to 1989 he was president of the American Society of Naval Engineers. In the Navy he served at Applied Physics Laboratory/The Johns Hopkins University then aboard USSBoston(CAG-1) and played leading roles in several weapon system developments inertial navigation (Polaris) deep submergence (DSRV) and advanced ship designs (SES). He later was director Combat System Integration Naval Sea Systems Command and head Combat Projects Naval Ship Engineering Center. The military services are being moved in the direction of performance-based specifications and standards. They are being steered against dictating ''how to'' produce an item since such action forecloses on the ability to gain access to components or technology that may have a commercial equivalent. Why should the engineering community embrace the new approach? Aside from the obvious weight of it being approved policy, therefore currently mandated, it warrants examination because it is the correct approach at this time when applied to appropriate products. Military specifications and standards are to be displaced then, by acceptable alternative contractor design solutions. Industry bidders will be allowed to propose the particular design details, permitting procurement flexibility by contractually citing only system level or interface requirements, both physical and functional. Hopefully, this can broaden the industrial base and increase competition with reduced costs to follow. Conceptually, the approach appears both performance-sensible and cost-attractive (there are, of course, consequent risks) but how does implementation proceed? Is it possible to pursue the goals envisioned along paths that are not in themselves experimental? Can the American postulate, minimal loss of life and limb to U.S. military people, continue to be honored? Experience and track record elsewhere imply encouraging possibilities in select situations-useful prospects are identified and discussed in practical terms.
