Educational service providers deliver information about student admission by installing banners, distributing brochures, and providing information directly to prospective new students annually. The target result can be outside expectations because there is no data analysis related to optimizing the support of the system. This study proposes the K-Means algorithm optimized with the Association Rules method to map the interests of prospective students in selecting the study program. The data collection method uses an explanatory research survey and correlational study with primary data from the questionnaires and documents for new students in the year 2022. The accuracy results of this study using the K-Means algorithm process to calculate the silhouette score, elbow methods, cross-combination experiments, and data sharing are 95.00%. The optimization accuracy with mapping relationships between variables using frequent itemset and Association Rules increased to 100%. The most significant factors influencing the student selection of study programs are religion 100%, transportation 85.71%, gender 83.33%, school status 80.95%, regency 73.81%, school origin 71.43%, the district of the school close to student life 66.67%, residence located at the parent's home 64.29%, place of birth 61.90%, and job future ambition 61.90%. © 2024 IEEE.

This study utilized MobileN et to surpass the accuracy of previous research in the field of Balinese mask image classification. Balinese masks as one of the objects of Balinese cultural heritage must be preserved. Based on the data collected, most of young generation in Bali who has no interest in Balinese masks. The approach in the field of technology is known to have a very effective impact on the younger generation because of its rapid and efficient deployment. To improve accuracy, we analyze hyperparameter combinations such as learning rate, batch size, and dropout. Based on 16 scenarios, we got an accuracy of 98.57% for the combination of learning rate 0.00001, batch size 8, and dropout 40%. This value exceeds previous studies using the VGG16 architecture with an accuracy of 85%. © 2024 IEEE.

Estimation of root-zone soil moisture (SM) is crucial for effective agricultural management and water resource planning. However, current methods for soil moisture estimation exhibit several limitations that hinder their practical application. This study introduces a novel nowcasting model, which integrates in-situ and remote sensing data through a Predictive Error Compensated wavelet Neural NETwork (PECNET), addressing the drawbacks of existing *** SM estimation techniques often suffer from limited accuracy, inadequate contextual information, and no real-time monitoring capabilities. Although remote sensing technologies offer promising advantages, such as wide spatial coverage and frequent data acquisition, they are not immune to limitations. Vegetation coverage and density present challenges in accurately estimating root-zone SM using remote sensing techniques. These factors can introduce uncertainties and errors in the estimation process, thereby impacting the reliability of the *** overcome these limitations and enhance the accuracy of root-zone SM estimation, this study proposes the integration of remote sensing data with in-situ measurements. Specifically, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) calculations from Landsat 7 and Landsat 8 satellites are fused with evapotranspiration and rainfall data obtained from agrometeorological stations. Combining these datasets generates an 8-day time series for the target parcels, leveraging the contextual information provided by NDVI and seasonality to improve the accuracy of root-zone soil moisture *** develop a robust and efficient model, we introduce PECNET, which ensures the orthogonality of input features and facilitates the learning of non-linear relationships between variables. The gaming industry produces vast amounts of user-generated feedback, making it challenging for developers to efficiently analyze and respond to real-time reviews. This study addresses the problem of classifying large-scale unstructured user feedback from Steam reviews. In this paper an approach that integrates traditional machine learning models and deep learning models is proposed. XGBoost is used to manage feature-rich datasets, reducing overfitting. Long-short-term memory (LSTM) and Bi-directional LSTM are used to enhance the accuracy and robustness of classification. Feature extraction techniques, such as sentiment analysis and topic modeling, are employed to enrich the dataset and improve model performance. The experimental results show that the XGBoost model achieved the highest performance with an accuracy of 0.9499 and a ROC-AUC score of 0.6113, demonstrating superior performance in distinguishing between positive and negative feedback. In comparison, deep learning models such as LSTM and Bi-directional LSTM showed lower ROC-AUC scores, indicating less effectiveness in handling the classification task. This approach offers game developers a reliable and scalable solution for classifying user sentiment, leading to better game improvements based on user reviews. © 2025 by the authors of this article.

Accurate forecasting of solar energy production is highly important for an adequate integration of renewable energy into the power grid. This study explores the importance of various predictors for enhancing the accuracy of solar energy forecasting using two distinct Long Short-Term Memory models: one that relies solely on historical power production data and past exogenous weather data, and another that additionally incorporates future exogenous weather data. Various settings are tried to improve the results and relatively similar parameters are used by both, yielding more accurate results for the model that also uses information from the future. The results also demonstrate that predictor importance varies significantly between the two models. These findings suggest that different models benefit from distinct predictor combinations and incorporating exogenous data can significantly enhance forecasting performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Banking produces extensive and diverse data, so a clustering process is needed to understand customer behavior patterns and transactions more effectively. This clustering has been widely utilized with the K-Means algorithm due to its simplicity and efficiency. However, this algorithm is limited in determining the optimal cluster center, affecting the accuracy of the clustering results. This study proposes applying two metaheuristic algorithms, Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), as additional solutions combined with K-Means. These two algorithms were chosen because of their ability to find global solutions and convergence speed to handle large and complex banking data. The results show the superiority of IWOKM compared to PSOKM in terms of SSE and DBI. From the SSE value, IWOKM produces a lower value (3029.77), which indicates that this method is better at minimizing clustering errors and producing more accurate clustering than PSOKM (80007.09). From the DBI value, IWOKM also produces a better value (1.6684) than PSOKM (1.6782), which shows that the clusters produced by IWOKM are more compact and more separated. However, in terms of computation time, PSOKM is more efficient, with a faster average computation time. Although IWOKM produces better clustering quality, PSOKM offers advantages in terms of processing speed. This finding confirms that the selection of the IWO algorithm is more appropriate for use on datasets with characteristics such as the German Credit Dataset. © 2024 IEEE.

The role of explainable Artificial Intelligence in high-stakes decision-making systems: a systematic review

A high-stakes event is an extreme risk with a low probability of occurring, but severe consequences (e.g., life-threatening conditions or economic collapse). The accompanying lack of information is a source of high-stress pressure and anxiety for emergency medical services authorities. Deciding on the best proactive plan and action in this environment is a complicated process, which calls for intelligent agents to automatically produce knowledge in the manner of human-like intelligence. Research in high-stakes decision-making systems has increasingly focused on eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), but recent developments in prediction systems give little prominence to explanations based on human-like intelligence. This work investigates XAI based on cause-and-effect interpretations for supporting high-stakes decisions. We review recent applications in the first aid and medical emergency fields based on three perspectives: available data, desirable knowledge, and the use of intelligence. We identify the limitations of recent AI, and discuss the potential of XAI for dealing with such limitations.
