Intelligent traffic control requires accurate estimation of the road states and incorporation of adaptive or dynamically adjusted intelligent algorithms for making the *** this article,these issues are handled by proposing a novel framework for traffic control using vehicular communications and Internet of Things *** framework integrates Kalman filtering and *** smoothing Kalman filtering,our data fusion Kalman filter incorporates a process-aware model which makes it superior in terms of the prediction *** traditional Q-learning,our Q-learning algorithm enables adaptive state quantization by changing the threshold of separating low traffic from high traffic on the road according to the maximum number of vehicles in the junction *** evaluation,the model has been simulated on a single intersection consisting of four roads:east,west,north,and south.A comparison of the developed adaptive quantized Q-learning(AQQL)framework with state-of-the-art and greedy approaches shows the superiority of AQQL with an improvement percentage in terms of the released number of vehicles of AQQL is 5%over the greedy approach and 340%over the state-of-the-art ***,AQQL provides an effective traffic control that can be applied in today’s intelligent traffic system.

Although NDN is an entirely new architecture, its design principles are based on the success of the current Internet, they represent our knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of the current Internet architecture, and they can be implemented gradually using the operations of the current Internet. The Pending Interest Table (PIT), the Forwarding Information Base (FIB), and the Content Store (CS) are the three data structures found inside the NDN router. Interest sent upstream to the content source is tracked by the Pending Interest Table (PIT), for data to be transmitted to requesters downstream. PIT is also used for measurement, loop detection, and the containment of recently satisfied interest. In this study, we did the simulation to measure and analyze the performance of PIT in NDN using NFD Pipeline Measurements. The NDNSim simulator was used in the research to observe PIT performance. The findings of the simulation and analysis indicated that in an NDN network, Satisfied Interest was influenced by the granularity of a prefix. At the number of interests 1000, the results showed a decrease in packets, including a decrease of around 21% in the Ininterest packet, and around 30% inSatisfiedInterest and InData. The effect of Prefix length also decreased in Ininterest ranging from 0.014-0.015%, while in inSatisfiedInterest and InData it ranged from 4.2-8.5%. The PIT's performance was influenced by the length of the prefix and the number of interest messages the customer sent. © 2024 IEEE.

This study addresses the formidable challenges encountered in automated brain tumor segmentation, including the complexities of irregular shapes, ambiguous boundaries, and intensity variations across MRI modalities. Manual segmentation, plagued by subjectivity and time constraints, further exacerbates the problem. To address these issues, we propose a modified U-Net architecture with an integrated attention gate. The proposed model demonstrates high performance, with notable Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) and Jaccard Index (JI) values across various tumor classes, consistently exceeding 0.93 and 0.87, respectively. Incorporating Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization and Histogram Equalization improves segmentation accuracy, particularly in cases of Meningioma. Comparative analyses against established models reveal a DSC of 0.9521 and a JI of 0.9093, underscoring the superiority of our method. Validation in the BraTS 2021 dataset underscores the robustness of the method, achieving high DSC and JI scores in four MRI modalities, with the T2 modality demonstrating the highest performance (DSC: 0.9216, JI: 0.8556). While acknowledging these achievements, we recognize challenges related to dataset specificity and computational intensity associated with the attention gate. Future research efforts should address these issues to improve the generalizability and applicability of the method in real-world scenarios. In addition to presenting a novel automated brain tumor segmentation method, this study contributes comprehensive result values and comparative analyses with previous research, providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of medical image analysis. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

In this paper, we propose a framework to address the problem of guiding a person within a semi-structured environment in a socially acceptable manner that prioritises safety and comfort. We propose an algorithm based on the optimal Rapidly exploring Random Tree (RRT*) algorithm for path planning. Our proposal utilises Dubins curves and takes into account the user during path planning to generate a navigation path that allows the robot to follow a feasible path that can also be navigated by the user. A comparative analysis against standard path planning based on the RRT* algorithm and the Social Force Model validates the efficacy of our proposed algorithm. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Various machine learning techniques have been proposed to improve the effectiveness of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), where IDS is one of the important parts of the network that functions to maintain network security. With its various capabilities and reputation, Support Vector Machine (SVM) is often applied in various classification cases. However, it has constraints with accuracy and computing time when it comes to data that has large dimensions. Utilizing metaheuristic techniques is one possibility that researchers can use to solve this problem. To overcome this, in this study, we will evaluate the performance of SVM for the IDS case by utilizing the metaheuristic Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm. From the experiments with three different iteration models, the best results of the combination of SVM and GWO were found in a model with 10 GWO iterations and 10 populations with an accuracy of 97.47% using 15 features out of 48 original features of the UKM-IDS20 dataset. © 2024 IEEE.

Software startups create innovative products or services using programming, which can lead to a need for products from potential customers. Researchers suggest that trial and error methodology can increase the success rate of these organizations by evaluating assumptions about client needs before fostering a product. However, programming new businesses typically do not require trial and error. The study aims to predict the success of startup companies in their early development stages by analyzing their success based on initial funding. A study of 106 unsuccessful software start-ups was conducted to predict the success rate. The experimentation progression model (X Pro) was developed to show that effective experimentation requires understanding trial and error, setting objectives, conducting tests, analyzing results, and acting based on new knowledge. The findings provide insights into supporting procedures and approaches that enhance trial- and-error reception in developing new business models. Researchers can become aware of potential factors leading to startup disappointment and take precautions to avoid them. The research focuses on using web-based open sources, including social networking services and the web, to model the task. The study uses machine learning techniques like Random Forest, Gradient Boost Classifier, XG Boost, and Ada Boost Classifier. The analysis provides insights into the types of useful signals discovered on the web and market mechanisms underlying the funding process. This approach offers a more comprehensive approach to predicting startup success. © 2024 IEEE.

As artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and next-generation mobile communication continue to evolve at a rapid pace, an increasingly popular application called the Internet of Medical Things (IoT) has arisen to provide ease and practicality in healthcare. Nonetheless, privacy preservation issues are brought up by accessing patient medical information inside the IoT framework, which calls for the creation of safe and private-preserving solutions. To address these issues, we provide in this study an IoT-Framework for preserving patient health record (FFPPHR) based on ELGamal blind signatures. We provide an enhanced privacy protection medical record searching technique (FFPPHR) based on the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem (ECDLP) and point out security vulnerabilities in the current FFPPHR. Our security research shows that by utilizing the hard problem assumption of ECDLP, the FPMR guarantees identity privacy and accuracy. Furthermore, the use of Blind ECDSA Signatures improves data security. Performance assessments confirm the FFPPHR efficiency, and theoretical findings agree with simulations. The suggested FFPPHR approach yields lower time costs when compared to state-of-the-art techniques, which makes it a potential option for safe and effective medical record searches in IoT contexts. © 2024 IEEE.

Sign Language Recognition (SLR) tries to convert sign language into written or spoken form to enable communication between a deaf-mute person and a normal person. The task of communicating with disabled and impaired persons is extremely challenging, owing to its complexity and variety of hand motions that have a major societal impact. In order to depict sign language motions, SLR approaches are increasingly being used. These classification models are based on hand-crafted characteristics. Building reliable features that can adapt to the diverse range of hand signs is nonetheless challenging. To address this issue, the authors proposed a special 3D convolutional neural network (CNN) to ease the communication between normal and mute communities. Our proposed model eliminates the requirement to create features by automatically extracting discriminative spatial–temporal features from the actual livestream without any prior information. To improve performance, the 3D CNN is fed with multiple channels of video feeds that include colour, depth, trajectory information, joint body locations, and depth clues. We illustrate the proposed model's superiority to the conventional methods based on hand-crafted characteristics by testing them against a real dataset collected using a depth camera. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The penetration of renewable energy with high intermittencies, such as solar power, presents a challenge for the North Sulawesi and Gorontalo power grid. Currently, the largest photovoltaic plant in the region is Likupang PV with a capacity of 15 MWp, followed by Isimu PV with a capacity of 10 MWp. The daytime peak load of the electrical system is 330 MW, with the initial penetration of photovoltaics into the system at 7.58%. Due to the low stiffness of the system, which was measured at 22.32 Mw/Hz in 2022, the intermittence has a direct impact on the system's operation. The study method used for PV curtailment first determines the magnitude by analyzing the correlation between changes in multiple PV and changes in demand affecting frequency. The Pearson correlation coefficient is used to determine the magnitude of the correlation among these variables. If Likupang PV has a significant influence on changes in frequency, then it can become a curtailment target to limit the amount of power change due to intermittence. Secondly, through data mining, we can understand the function of the influence of changes in PV power on frequency changes. From this function, we can determine the operating limits of the PV to achieve the desired frequency operating range. Thirdly, in this study, this function is tested through simulations and experiments in the field to verify the accuracy of the required PV curtailment execution. By applying this approach, business owners can optimize the planning, regulation, and reliability of the electricity system, thereby mitigating power interruptions in solar power plants. © 2023 IEEE.

Academic information service is the most critical factor that must be considered in a university. Service quality is an important indicator affecting all academics’ satisfaction and loyalty. Improvement of information services on campus has been a lot of research focusing on academics. Meanwhile, the software aspect has received less attention. Researchers have previously discussed information service frameworks but have not accommodated future needs. Software that must be considered can quickly respond to the user, one of which is a chatbot. Chatbots can be used to solve problems related to question-and-answer services, especially for academic institutions that do not have specific resources to handle this work. With chatbots, redundant user questions can be handled automatically. Chatbots are increasingly being offered as an alternative source of customer service. For a user to use a chatbot for this purpose, the user must trust the chatbot to provide the necessary support. To overcome this knowledge gap, a framework can integrate software, stakeholders, and academics in higher education.
