The application based on P2P technology is one of the most important application of the Internet, but it is often affected by the node failure or abnormal nodes exit. In P2P network, node failure can cause data loss and invalid index, then reduce QoS (Quality of Service) of P2P network, lead to reputation system crashes and so on. Therefore the P2P node failure handling and recovery method can effectively prevent and deal with the mentioned negative influence. Above these problems are very important to improve the robustness and QoS of P2P network. This paper first introduces the background and the causes of node failure of P2P network. Second, we review the main progresses of node failure prediction, node data recovery, super-node selection and routing node algorithm etc. dealing with node failure handling in recent year. Finally, some challenging research problem in the future work is discussed. © 2014 IEEE.

Sunspots are dark areas with respect to their surrounding area because the temperature of sunspot areas is lower than the average temperature of the solar surface. It provides essential information for many aspects of solar physics. A sunspot is composed of umbra and penumbra. It is a prerequisite for studying solar physics and spatial atmosphere to accurately segment and extract sunspot structures. Consequently, we propose an automated detection technique for segmenting and extracting them. The detection procedure is composed of two steps:(1) segmenting and extracting sunspot umbra with morphological reconstruction;(2) detecting and segmenting sunspot penumbra with region growing. For evaluating the accuracy of the detection procedure,we used a high-resolution observation obtained by Solar Optical Telescope onboard Hinode, and other obtained with the Dutch Open Telescope to illustrate the performance. The results demonstrate that our proposed technique is significant effective and accurate, and is suitable for studying the sunspot evolution and their physical phenomena.

Evaluating dataflow vulnerabilities of scientific workflow based on data dependency patterns

If potential contributors leading to system failure can be identified when a scientific workflow is modelled, a lot of system vulnerabilities may thus be revealed and improved. In this paper, we first use data dependency patterns to describe dataflow in a scientific workflow. Then, the state function that describes the causal relations leading to incorrect state of an output is presented. We use a series of fault tree symbols to illustrate the state functions. Thus, fault tree analysis method is used to identify critical elements and elements combinations that lead to the incorrect state of any output item and calculate the probability of the incorrect state based on the probabilities of the basic events in the analysed workflow. Finally, an importance measure is designed to prioritize the contributors of system failure. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods are proved by example and experiments. © 2013 by Binary information Press.

The long-term hemispheric variation of the flare index is investigated. It is found that, （1） the phase difference of the flare index between the northern and southern hemispheres is about 6-7 months, which is near the time delay between flare activity and sunspot activity; （2） both the dominant and phase-leading hemisphere of the flare index is the northern hemisphere in the considered time interval, implying that the hemispheric asynchrony of solar activity has a close connection with the N-S asymmetry of solar activity.

In order to solve the efficiency problem about the data-intensive query join in cloud computing environment, a Shrink-Semis Join for Cloud Computing(SSJFCC) method for data-intensive was proposed. This paper firstly analyzed and compared the bottlenecks of existing query join algorithm in the cloud computing environment. Secondly, aiming to shrink semi-results data from join process, five algorithms of SSJFCC method were designed. Finally, the improvement method had been implemented based on Hadoop framework. Experiments show that this method significantly reduced the network transmission data quantity and join computing time-consuming, and improved the data-intensive query efficiency.

The Solar Granulation is an ubiquitous structure in the quiet *** brighter features called "Photospheric Bright Points(PBPs)" are found within inter-granules in G-band images *** are the small-scale feature on the solar *** their characteristics may reveal the significant problems such as coronal hearting,local dynamo theory and the relation of magnetic *** the presented paper,we utilized Laplacian and morphological dilation(LMD) technique to detect and extract PBPs within inter-granular lanes.A data set has been taken with the Dutch Open Telescope(DOT) on July 2, *** was employed to analyze the geometrical feature of *** statistical distributions of PBPs were obtained by the proposed *** diameter distribution of PBPs is consistent with lognormal *** peak diameter occurs at about *** histogram of geometrical features is derived from the PBPs *** distribution of eccentricity indicates that approximately 50%PBPs have a near circular,the average eccentricity occurs at *** distribution accords with an Exponential fit.

For various applications in today's service-oriented enterprise computing systems, such as process-oriented service discovering or clustering, it is necessary to measure the distance between two process models. In this paper, we propose a quantitative measure to calculate the distance or similarity between different block-structured processes. We first transform each process into a process structure tree, and then calculate the process distance based on the alignment of two process structure trees. The proposed distance metric satisfies four distance measure properties, i.e., non-negativity, identity of indiscernible, symmetry and triangle inequality. These properties make the distance metric can be used as a quantitative tool in effective process model management activities. We illustrate the methodology with examples, by which its features are shown. Moreover, experiment study shows that the proposed method is feasible. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Propose a Resource Isolation Policy(RIP) which is applied to open real-time systems with shared resources. It can combine with static scheduling strategy such as Stack Resource Policy(SRP) and dynamic scheduling strategy like Bandwidth Inheritance(BWI) conveniently. It can solve the problem that hard real-time task's deadline cannot be guaranteed by Bandwidth Inheritance. We are going to prove that RIP would not interfere with the schedulability of a scheduling strategy with which RIP is combined, and to present the influence of scheduling performance of soft real-time task when using RIP, by theoretical analysis in detail. At last, we introduce how to combine the RIP with the BWI through a new strategy instance called BWI-RIP. © 2012 Chinese Assoc of Automati.
