High data-rate two-three inputs all-optical and gate based on FWM in highly nonlinear fiber

In this paper, two-and-three channel all-optical AND logic gates based on four-wave mixing in a highly nonlinear fiber for 120 Gbps on-off keying signals were designed, simulated, and investigated. Simulation results show low bit error rate and consequently fairly high Q-factor at the receiving end in both two and three inputs AND gates, as well as the logic operation, is confirmed by the open eye diagrams with moderate power penalties for both designs. © 2022 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.

The escalating reliance on biometric systems for identity verification underscores the imperative for robust data protection mechanisms. Biometric authentication, leveraging unique biological and behavioral characteristics, offers unparalleled precision in individual identification. However, the integrity and confidentiality of biometric data remain paramount concerns, given its susceptibility to compromise. This research delineates the development and implementation of an innovative framework for cancellable biometrics, focusing on facial and fingerprint recognition. This study introduces a novel cancellable biometrics framework that integrates graph theory encryption with three-dimensional chaotic logistic mapping. The methodology encompasses a multifaceted approach: initially employing graph theory for the secure and efficient encryption of biometric data, subsequently enhanced by the complexity and unpredictability of three-dimensional chaotic logistic mapping. This dual-layered strategy ensures the robustness of the encryption, thereby significantly elevating the security of biometric data against unauthorized access and potential compromise. Thus, the resulting cancellable biometrics, characterized by the ability to transform biometric data into an adjustable representation, addresses critical challenges in biometric security. It allows for the revocation and reissuance of biometric credentials, thereby safeguarding the original biometric characteristics of individuals. This feature not only enhances user privacy and data security but also introduces a dynamic aspect to biometric authentication, facilitating adaptability across diverse systems and applications. Preliminary evaluations of the proposed framework demonstrate a marked improvement in the security of face and fingerprint recognition systems. Microgrids (MGs) serve as central interfaces for distributed generation, predominantly employing voltage source inverters (VSIs). These MGs operate in either autonomous or grid-connected modes, facilitating local power generation and storage. However, autonomous MGs, lacking grid support, are susceptible to instability, particularly with multiple generators sharing power. This paper addresses instability challenges in VSI-based MGs through comprehensive system modeling, analysis, and design. A novel approach is proposed, employing a modified virtual inertia PID droop control with virtual impedance, facilitates swift response to frequency and voltage fluctuations, ensuring precise power allocation among paralleled VSIs. Moreover, this paper presents the small signal analysis of the PID droop control and outlines the secondary control design, encompassing DDSRF-PLL, frequency, and voltage restoration loops. System validation is conducted through MATLAB/Simulink modeling and experimental verification on a hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testbench, confirming the efficacy of the proposed methodologies in low inertia MGs. © 2024 IEEE.

With the development of integrated circuit (IC) technology, the application scenes of the Internet of Things (IoT) are becoming more and more extensive. The Internet of Things makes it difficult for traditional encryption technologies to adapt to social trends. In order to solve a series of security problems, the concept of Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) was proposed at the beginning of this century. This thesis discusses the categorization of PUF, the classical PUF design and the metrics of PUF from the basic definition of PUF and their principles. At the same time, the definitions related to the challenge-response pair of the PUF are explained and illustrated. the programmable ring oscillator PUF implemented in this thesis has a greater advantage. this thesis can reduce the consumption of hardware resources under the generation of the same length PUF response. The research in this paper aims to provide an effective reference for practical application. © 2024 SPIE.

Recently,nano-systems based on molecular communications via diffusion(MCvD)have been implemented in a variety of nanomedical applications,most notably in targeted drug delivery system(TDDS)***,because the MCvD is unreliable and there exists molecular noise and inter symbol interference(ISI),cooperative nano-relays can acquire the reliability for drug delivery to targeted diseased cells,especially if the separation distance between the nano transmitter and nano receiver is *** this work,we propose an approach for optimizing the performance of the nano system using cooperative molecular communications with a nano relay scheme,while accounting for blood flow effects in terms of drift *** fractions of the molecular drug that should be allocated to the nano transmitter and nano relay positioning are computed using a collaborative optimization problem solved by theModified Central Force Optimization(MCFO)*** the previous work,the probability of bit error is expressed in a closed-form *** is used as an objective function to determine the optimal velocity of the drug molecules and the detection threshold at the nano *** simulation results show that the probability of bit error can be dramatically reduced by optimizing the drift velocity,detection threshold,location of the nano-relay in the proposed nano system,and molecular drug budget.

Changes in the Atmospheric Electric Field Signal(AEFS)are highly correlated with weather changes,especially with thunderstorm ***,little attention has been paid to the ambiguous weather information implicit in AEFS *** this paper,a Fuzzy C-Means(FCM)clustering method is used for the first time to develop an innovative approach to characterize the weather attributes carried by ***,a time series dataset is created in the time domain using AEFS *** AEFS-based weather is evaluated according to the time-series Membership Degree(MD)changes obtained by inputting this dataset into the ***,thunderstorm intensities are reflected by the change in distance from a thunderstorm cloud point charge to an AEF ***,a matching relationship is established between the normalized distance and the thunderstorm dominant MD in the space ***,the rationality and reliability of the proposed method are verified by combining radar charts and expert *** results confirm that this method accurately characterizes the weather attributes and changes in the AEFS,and a negative distance-MD correlation is obtained for the first *** detection of thunderstorm activity by AEF from the perspective of fuzzy set technology provides a meaningful guidance for interpretable thunderstorms.

The modernization of the information communication infrastructure of the regional data transmission network has advanced in order to increase the maximum transmission speed of existing transport routes, ensuring the quality of the service and its reliability. In the present research work, a new approach for the 3D visibility network algorithm has been developed, showing how graph theory applied to wireless sensor networks (WSNs) enables technological development for new solutions in areas such as public infrastructure. The possibility of determining in such networks whether an area of interest is sufficiently covered by a given set of sensors by means of the Voronoi diagram is discussed. The parking dynamics and parking system were modeled with cellular neural networks (CNNs) based on weather conditions, and magnetic parking sensors were replaced with pillar sensors. The proposed method has proven its effectiveness in determining the position of the minimum sensors covering the area of interest, in order to find a solution in the occupation of parking spaces in the presence of different weather conditions. The proposed approach and experimental results offer potential applications in various fields such as lighting and rendering, motion planning, pattern recognition, computer graphics and computational geometry, in order to conduct studies on problems and perspectives of pillar sensor technology while reducing costs compared to magnetic ones. © 2013 IEEE.

Shadow extraction and elimination is essential for intelligent transportation systems(ITS)in vehicle tracking *** shadow is the source of error for vehicle detection,which causes misclassification of vehicles and a high false alarm rate in the research of vehicle counting,vehicle detection,vehicle tracking,and *** of the existing research is on shadow extraction of moving vehicles in high intensity and on standard datasets,but the process of extracting shadows from moving vehicles in low light of real scenes is *** real scenes of vehicles dataset are generated by self on the Vadodara–Mumbai highway during periods of poor illumination for shadow extraction of moving vehicles to address the above *** paper offers a robust shadow extraction of moving vehicles and its elimination for vehicle *** method is distributed into two phases:In the first phase,we extract foreground regions using a mixture of Gaussian model,and then in the second phase,with the help of the Gamma correction,intensity ratio,negative transformation,and a combination of Gaussian filters,we locate and remove the shadow region from the foreground *** to the outcomes proposed method with outcomes of an existing method,the suggested method achieves an average true negative rate of above 90%,a shadow detection rate SDR(η%),and a shadow discrimination rate SDR(ξ%)of 80%.Hence,the suggested method is more appropriate for moving shadow detection in real scenes.

The quality of development documents written in natural language is basically ensured by developer’s review with quite a few man-hours. Natural language processing (NLP) tools can partially automate the time-consuming review. The authors have developed morpheme level pattern matching and processing tools morfgrep and morfawk for Japanese texts for this purpose;moreover, in this paper, extends them to perform pattern matching on dependency among phrases. The Internet of Things (IoT) stands as a revolutionary leap in digital connectivity, envisioning a future network connecting billions of devices, seamlessly. Amidst the myriad benefits, there arises an intricate web of challenges, prominently centered around potential threats and data security implications. Recent cryptography techniques, such as DNA-based cryptography, 3D chaos-based cryptography, and optical cryptography, face challenges including large encryption times, high energy consumption, and suboptimal rather than optimal performance. Particularly, the burden of long encryption cycles strains the energy resources of typical low-power and compact IoT devices. These challenges render the devices vulnerable to unauthorized breaches, despite large storage capacities. The hallmark of the IoT ecosystem, characterized by its low-power compact devices, is the burgeoning volume of data they generate. This escalating data influx, while necessitating expansive storage, remains vulnerable to unauthorized access and breaches. Historically, encryption algorithms, with their multifaceted architectures, have been the bulwark against such intrusions. However, their inherently-complex nature, entailing multiple encryption cycles, strains the limited energy reserves of typical IoT devices. In response to this intricate dilemma, we present a hybrid lightweight encryption strategy. Our algorithm innovatively leverages both one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) chaotic key generators. Furthermore, it amalgamates a classical encryption philosophy, harmonizing the strengths of Feistel and substitution-permutation networks. The centerpiece of our strategy is achieving effective encryption in merely three rounds, tailored expressly for compressed Three-Dimensional Video (3DV) frames, ensuring their unwavering integrity. Our workflow commences with the H.264/MVC compression algorithm, setting the stage for the subsequent encryption phase. Through rigorous MATLAB simulations,
