This paper considers one dimensional unsteady heat condition in a media with temperature dependent thermal conductivity. When the thermal conductivity depends on the temperature, the corresponding heat equation is nonlinear. At one or both boundaries, a relaxing boundary condition is applied. It is a time dependent condition that approaches continuously, as time increases, a certain time independent condition. Such behavior at the boundaries arises naturally in some physical systems. As an example, we propose a simple model system that can give rise to either Dirichlet or convective relaxing boundary condition. Due to the dependence of the thermal conductivity on the temperature, the convective condition is nonlinear. For the solution of the problem, we propose a new numerical approach that first discretizes the heat equation in time, whereby a sequence of two-point boundary value problems (TPBVPs) is obtained. We use implicit time discretization, which provides for unconditional stability of the method. If the initial condition is given, we can solve consecutively the TPBVPs and get approximations of the temperature at the different time levels. For the solution of the TPBVPs, we apply the finite difference method. The arising nonlinear systems are solved by Newton’s method. A number of example problems are solved demonstrating the efficiency of the proposed approach. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper proposes an alternative detection frame-work for multiple sclerosis (MS) and idiopathic acute transverse myelitis (ATM) within the 6G-enabled Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) environment. The developed framework relies on the implementation of a deep learning technique known as Dense Convolutional Networks (DenseNets) in the 6G-enabled IoMT to enhance prediction performance. To validate the performance of DenseNets, we compared it with other deep learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and MobileNet, using real-world datasets. The experimental results show the high performance of DenseNets in predicting MS and ATM compared to other methods, achieving an accuracy of nearly 90 %.

The purpose of this study is to summarise the findings from the validation of an augmented reality prototype for BIPA learning’s cultural components. An R&D design was used for this research. The section on product validation, which is an important step in the research and development process, will be the main focus in this instance, though. To determine the calibre of the prototype or product under development, validation is important. An examination of BIPA level 1’s cultural components and AR content is done as part of the validation process. From the devices created during design until the augmented reality software product is attained, validation of the initial product is done in an integrated way. This validation prototype was carried out by two experts, namely technology experts and BIPA learning experts using content validity evaluation (technology content and BIPA materials). The results of the validation data will be processed using SPSS. Based on expert validation, it shows that the Augmented Reality prototype is considered valid, practical, and can be used in learning BIPA Cultural Aspects at Level 1. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Design of a Controllable Antenna Based on Embedded Differential PSK Modulation

Direct Antenna Modulation (DAM) is explored recently in many wireless communication systems. In this paper, we explore the modulation process of electromagnetic signals in the antenna circuit design directly. The proposed antenna consists of two non-concentric elliptical patches for broadband applications to suit the spread spectrum applications. To perform a Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) modulation, two identical antennas are fed by a two-branch microstrip line with a phase shift. Utilizing computer Simulation Technology of Microwave Studio (CSTMWS) based on Finite Integral Technique (FIT), an optimization based-on numerical analysis is adopted for designing the transmission line configuration at the desired frequency bands. The other significant aspect that has been achieved in this research is reducing the patch size to be suitable for wearable devices. Therefore, a cylindrical substrate is utilized for bending the proposed antenna structure. The proposed antenna design shows a gain of 4.73 dBi and 2.5 dBi for the planar and folded antenna profile, respectively. Two high-speed Positive Intrinsic Negative (PIN) diodes as switching elements of the RF signal are inserted between the identical antenna elements through a transmission line. Switch 1 (SW1) and switch 2 (SW2) are used to control the phase shift between the antenna elements by changing the switching state from (OFF-ON) and vice versa. The designed antenna is further investigated to realize the effects of radiation leakage from the antenna elements on the human body in the context of wearable applications. This study is conducted to the antenna performance when it is bent on a cylinder and compared to the flat case on four human body regions: arm, head, thigh, and chest. The proposed antenna based on PIN diodes is fabricated, measured, and tested. Handwritten digit recognition is a branch of machine learning in which a computer is taught to recognize hand-written numbers. Classification and regression are applied using deep learning and machine learning algorithms. In this paper, we discussed the efficiency of different algorithms: Random Forest, KNN, Naive Bayes, SVM, CNN, and Decision Tree Algorithm. Those algorithms were applied in the handwritten digit recognition process using the MINIST data set. By comparing each algorithm by training every one of them on the data set, then by testing, we got the best algorithm to get the optimal results with the highest accuracy. After comparing the results of each algorithm, it has shown that the neural network has the best results with 97.3% classification accuracy followed by K- the nearest neighbor with 97.2%. © 2023 IEEE.

Security and privacy remain as a significant challenge in the distributed Internet of Things (IoT) framework. IoT has already demonstrated that it can significantly impact our daily lives. The internet sends and receives a large volume of data from different devices present worldwide. IoT comprises of heterogeneous units present across a wide variety of networks to communicate sensitive and non-critical data, resulting in significant challenges in terms of protecting and ownership of the data collected from users. The Internet security architecture developed in a constrained location, such as healthcare, is presented in this research work. Across a range of networks and PCs, the system offers safe data sharing and authentication mechanism. The proposed design is based on the blockchain technology's underlying structure and the usage of secure hazarding. This research study has attempted to propose a technique for improving IoT security using elliptic curve integrated encryption scheme with primary structure based blockchain technology. © 2023 The Authors. Stress, as a reaction to threatening situations, can raise heart rate and result in serious conditions that might cause significant damage or even be life-threatening. Traditional methods for evaluating stress, which rely on subjective self-reporting and clinical assessments, often suffer from biases and inconsistencies. Artificial intelligence models have been explored to predict stress levels more accurately. This paper investigates the application of Extreme Gradient Boosting in classifying psychological stress using the WESAD dataset, which includes parameters such as acceleration, electrocardiogram, electromyography, electrodermal activity, temperature, and respiration. The dataset was balanced and sampled to create a manageable subset for experimental. Extreme Gradient Boosting was chosen for its efficiency and scalability in handling complex datasets. The model was trained and validated, achieving a 95% accuracy in predicting stress levels. This study highlights the potential of integrating Extreme Gradient Boosting models into wearable devices for real-time stress monitoring. Future work involves optimizing the model to utilize fewer sensors without decreasing accuracy, ensuring it can be integrated into portable/wearable systems using tiny microcontrollers. © 2024 IEEE.

Named entity recognition has emerged as a critical step in recognizing, classifying, and extracting the most significant information from unstructured text without human intervention. It is used in information retrieval, conversation systems, machine translation, data mining, and information extraction. However, the Awngi language lacks a NER system due to inadequate datasets. This study combines feature extraction techniques with supervised machine learning algorithms, including support vector machines, Naïve Bayes, and conditional random fields with a grid search algorithm parameter optimization. These supervised machine-learning models often have various hyperparameters that must be tuned to optimize the model's performance by automatically selecting the parameter. Furthermore, the dataset used for training and testing consists of 20,193 annotated Awngi tokens, collected from Amhara Media Corporation, Awngi Telegram, and Facebook pages. The proposed SVM with grid search algorithm approach provided a promising result in ANER with an accuracy of 92% compared with Naïve Bayes, conditional random field, and decision-tree supervised machine learning models. Finally, the experiment results show that the proposed parameter tuning-based model can detect and categorize Awingi-named entities and outperforms the performance accuracy without parameter adjustment. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces an alternative technique for diagnosing Acute Ischemic Stroke within the IoMT environment. In the proposed approach, the collected data is transmitted to a cloud-based center where the technique utilizes EfficientNet, a deep learning model, designed to extract features from MRI images thereby enhancing the detection of acute ischemic infarctions. The performance of EfficientNet is compared against two other models, CNN and MobileNet, demonstrating its superior efficacy through metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, which stand at 92.31%, 92.28%, 92.33%, and 92.30%, respectively.
