Currently, Software-Defined Network (SDN) is as one of the most commonly used network architectures. It requires using a software-based, centralized controller to communicate with the underlying network hardware to control the flow of the traffic through the network. This helps achieve easy, flexible, and integrated control and management of the entire network. In SDNs, the controller is the sole entity that monitors the entire network and is accountable for traffic management based on its comprehensive understanding of the network. Software-Defined Networks (SDNs) rely on a centralized controller for network management, yet this centralized control exposes vulnerabilities, leaving networks susceptible to disruptive attacks. To fortify SDN security, this article presents an innovative approach that merges machine learning and deep learning techniques through ensemble learning. Our method introduces several key innovations. Firstly, it employs ensemble learning, combining multiple models to enhance predictive capability. Secondly, the utilization of cosine similarity-based classification enables the grouping of attacks with varying degrees of similarity, refining the distinction between attack types. Thirdly, the approach includes customized classifiers, trained specifically for distinct attack classes, optimizing detection accuracy for each type. Finally, the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm is applied for final classification of new data samples, improving precision in identifying attack types. With an exceptional accuracy rate of 99.91%, our method surpasses the performance of analogous studies. By amalgamating these innovations, our approach establishes a robust framework for detecting security anomalies in SDNs, reinforcing network integrity and reliability. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, the number of electric vehicles has been growing rapidly in the European Union, and in the world in general. Electric cars are more efficient than fossil fuel cars, they have better driving characteristics, and most importantly: they do not emit gas while driving. There are still some challenges related to electric cars. Energy storage - batteries - are still under development to increase the range of cars. An even bigger challenge is the car charging infrastructure - charging stations of increasing capacity are being installed to shorten charging times. The growing number of charging stations brings new challenges, and an important question is what impact car charging stations have on the power quality. The paper presents a detailed analysis of the impact of electric car charging stations on the power quality in the distribution power grid. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Also, with the increase in YouTube users in the US today, the number of people making a living from YouTube has also skyrocketed. Therefore, it has been proposed that YouTube Trending Analysis can help people who are having trouble choosing a job, particularly for those who wish to use YouTube to make a living. Innovative grid technology leverages information and Communication technology (ICT) to enhance energy efficiency and mitigate losses. This paper introduces a 'novel three-tier hierarchical framework for smart homes within the Internet of Things (IoT)' ecosystem, addressing the current shortage of intelligent solutions that underutilize IoT advantages. Our framework's primary objective is to elevate smart homes to the microgrid level, enabling the seamless integration from the microgrid's renewable distributed energy sources and attaining maximum energy efficiency. In addition to traditional data processing, we propose the application of fog computing in smart homes. Through a rigorous simulation using real smart meter datasets, our study demonstrates that fog computing, mainly when using predictive filtering, may drastically cut down on the amount of data being sent and the load on the home's network. This innovation holds immense potential for revolutionizing energy management and resource allocation in the context of smart homes, thus contributing to a sustainable and efficient future. This research represents a critical step towards harnessing the power of IoT and fog computing in smart grids and homes, offering a promising path towards more intelligent, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient living spaces. © 2024 IEEE.

The Internet of things (IoT) is getting more and more intrusive into our lives until the day comes when everything becomes connected to the Internet. Due to the limited resources and heterogeneous Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the traditional means of protection are useless and cannot be used to protect these devices. The most important security risks, their causes and the consequences of their occurrence have been listed, scheduled and categorized. The study concluded that there are real security risks that cannot be ignored, and they need to find innovative solutions to eliminate them or reduce their damage to a minimum. This paper showed the main risks addressed in previews research, and outlined the gaps in this field of technology, also producing a brief summary information about the most important solution to avoid many threats against the IoT field. © 2023 IEEE.

The gaming industry produces vast amounts of user-generated feedback, making it challenging for developers to efficiently analyze and respond to real-time reviews. This study addresses the problem of classifying large-scale unstructured user feedback from Steam reviews. In this paper an approach that integrates traditional machine learning models and deep learning models is proposed. XGBoost is used to manage feature-rich datasets, reducing overfitting. Long-short-term memory (LSTM) and Bi-directional LSTM are used to enhance the accuracy and robustness of classification. Feature extraction techniques, such as sentiment analysis and topic modeling, are employed to enrich the dataset and improve model performance. The experimental results show that the XGBoost model achieved the highest performance with an accuracy of 0.9499 and a ROC-AUC score of 0.6113, demonstrating superior performance in distinguishing between positive and negative feedback. In comparison, deep learning models such as LSTM and Bi-directional LSTM showed lower ROC-AUC scores, indicating less effectiveness in handling the classification task. This approach offers game developers a reliable and scalable solution for classifying user sentiment, leading to better game improvements based on user reviews. © 2025 by the authors of this article.

Images are widely used in social networks, necessitating efficient and secure transmission, especially in bandwidth-constrained environments. This paper aims to develop a color image encryption algorithm that enhances security while optimizing computational efficiency. A novel parallel color image encryption algorithm based on the 2D Logistic-Rulkov neuron map (2D-LRNM) is proposed. In this approach, the three channels of the color image are first separated. Cross-channel information interaction is introduced to form three new channels, which are then processed in parallel. During the encryption process of each channel, a block-wise parallel encryption mechanism is applied, ensuring simultaneous encryption of each block. This block-wise strategy effectively leverages parallel computing resources and balances the task load. To meet the demand for a large number of keystreams during encryption, the 2D-LRNM is introduced. It combines the simplicity and chaotic properties of the Logistic map with the multi-timescale dynamics and neurodynamic behaviors of the Rulkov map. By overcoming the dimensional limitations inherent in the single Logistic map, this approach extends the system to a two-dimensional framework, significantly increasing the complexity of chaotic behavior and improving its unpredictability. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed encryption algorithm achieves high security and reduces computation time by approximately 83.3%. © 2014 IEEE.

Emergency message (EM) dissemination is a significant process in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) and plays a vital role in road safety. Nonetheless, EMs’ dissemination while avoiding broadcast storms poses a considerable challenge. Moreover, selecting optimal cooperative forwarders is also challenging because of unreliability, high end-to-end delay, and packet loss caused by localization errors. Besides, the conventional broadcast-based schemes usually choose forwarder vehicles based on distance, neglecting the influence of links’ qualities. To that end, we propose multi-hop EM dissemination (MEMD) through optimal cooperative forwarder in grid-based fifth-generation (5G) VANET environment. To ensure reliable EMs’ dissemination, we incorporate vehicle-to-everything communication instead of the conventional short-range vehicle-to-vehicle communication. The proposed scheme obtains vehicle positions by integrating GPS measurements with a map-matching technique to avoid vehicle localization errors. Instead of a single parameter, the proposed scheme selects an optimal cooperative forwarder by using our proposed fitness function, which considers different mobility and social parameters. The proposed scheme categorizes EMs’ dissemination into single-hop and multi-hop broadcasting to avoid unnecessary rebroadcasting and communication congestion in the network. Simulation results demonstrate that for varying density, the proposed scheme achieves an average increase of 12%, 9%, and 8.9% in coverage, and 7.95%, 4%, and 3.4% in PDR, and an average reduction of 13.5%, 7.2%, and 12.7% in E2E delay, and 20.9%, 11.3%, and 4% in rebroadcast ratio, as compared to LCL, REMD, and EMDZoI, respectively. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) is crucial for the development of intelligent assistive technologies in Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) environments. This paper proposes an innovative method for Multi-View Human Activity Recognition (MV-HAR) using lightweight deep learning models, specifically MobileNet and Cyclone-CNN (CCNet), to achieve quick and precise activity detection. Utilizing the Robot House Multi-View Human Activity Recognition (RHM-HAR) dataset, which contains four different views-front, back, ceiling (omni), and mobile robot-our models effectively address challenges related to viewpoint variation and motion dynamics. The dataset includes 14 multi-view daily living action classes, providing a balanced set of synchronized human actions suitable for multi-domain neural network learning. MobileNet and CCNet are employed for their high recognition accuracy, computational efficiency, and real-time application capabilities in AAL scenarios. We propose a Mutual information (MI)-based method to assess the redundancy and relevance of each viewpoint, ensuring the fusion of multi-view data with minimum redundancy and maximum relevance. Benchmarking results demonstrate that multi-view combinations significantly enhance recognition performance compared to single-view models, particularly in complex activities involving high levels of movement. © 2024 IEEE.
