Adaptive IIR notch filters have been widely studied for many years. However, not many efforts have been made to pursue new algorithms which work better than the plain gradient algorithm but have a little increase in complexity. In this paper, we employ the gradient linearization, Taylor series expansion and calculus of variations to derive a memoryless nonlinear gradient function for a second-order adaptive IIR notch filter, which improves the estimation performance considerably. Theoretical expressions for the stability bounds on the step size parameter and the steady-state coefficient variance of the proposed algorithm using the memoryless nonlinear gradient function are also derived. Extensive simulations indicate the significant improvement that may be achieved using the new algorithm, and verify the closed-form analytical results.

The transition towards electric vehicles (EVs) is a pivotal response to mitigate environmental concerns and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. This survey-based research aims to provide comprehensive insights into the stance of EV users in Croatia on using EVs as assets for flexibility in operation. Users are surveyed about their EV characteristics and habits, emphasizing charging preferences and possible subsidizing. Because of their larger degree of freedom in operation, family home users are further surveyed about their attitude toward load management, investments for additional sources of electricity and flexibility in operation, and advanced electricity billing models to ensure greater savings. Results show a very conservative stance of users toward actions that deteriorate their comfort level. Further on, users that dwell in a family house are prone to investments if it can generate additional savings and maintain or even increase their comfort level. This survey provided valuable findings for researchers in modeling EVs as a flexible asset in energy management studies, especially in the emerging field of energy communities.

Resonant wireless power transfer (WPT) is gaining popularity as a solution for wireless powering of electronic devices in multi-user environment where operating frequency must be fixed. This paper proposed a simulation model for parallel-serial topology of WPT system. Simulation model is verified by experimental measurement and used to analyze the impact which receiver power and coupling coefficient between transmitter and receiver have on resonant frequency of the system. Three resonant frequencies have been identified which correspond with local efficiency maximums. Criteria for resonant frequency shift evaluation is defined and conducted analysis has shown that by keeping the coupling coefficient under 0.1, the relative resonant frequency shift will not exceed 0.5%.

Resonant wireless power transfer offers high degree of freedom for the receiver positioning, but it also has higher restraints on the design of the receiver circuit. This paper discusses design considerations for the design of the receiver circuit for applications in mid-power range (10100 W) using resonant wireless power transfer system. Wireless power receiver circuit consists of three main sub-circuits: resonant tank, rectifier circuit and DC-DC converter. The impact of each sub-circuit is analyzed with respect to efficiency and overall performance of the receiver circuit. Results from the mathematical models and simulations are compared with measurements. The final design of the receiver circuit is implemented in LCD TV and evaluated through laboratory measurements.

In autonomous pruning, the robot must identify the branches that need to be removed to improve the health and shape of the tree. Furthermore, the robot needs depth information about these branches in order to successfully perform tool navigation and finally pruning. In this work, we provide the BRANCH dataset with 70 RGB-D images of pear trees before and after pruning, taken in the real environment from different viewpoints to cover the whole tree. Based on these images, we created point clouds and performed model reconstruction to obtain 3D models of the trees. After overlaying the models before and after pruning, we obtained the points of the pruned branches. Therefore, we also provide labeled point clouds of 52 trees in BRANCH that can be used for further machine learning.

In this paper we present a Pareto-optimal algorithm in bilateral automated negotiation where the negotiation is modeled by "split the pie" game and alternating-offer protocol. Pareto-optimality is the seminal condition in the bargaining problem which leads autonomous agents to the Nash-equilibrium. Generating Pareto-optimal offer in multi-issue bargaining is a computationally complex problem, specially, when autonomous agents have incomplete information about deadline, outside options and the opponent's preferences. Unfortunately, yet to date, there is no articulation that clearly describes an algorithm to generate offer in multi-issue negotiation with perfect information. To this end, we present the maximum greedy trade-offs (MGT) algorithm that generate offers at any aspiration-level in O(n) with assuming that the order of greedy choices is given, otherwise the complexity will be O(n bg n). We also provide analytical proof for the correctness of the maximum greedy trade-offs algorithm.
