Current questions and challenges for environmental shielding are introduced by Cloud Computing. Reliability, high performance, and scalability are application states that are offered by cloud computing technologies. The Cloud Computing revolution promises environmental protection, modern networking redesign, and economic and technological advantages. Huge data centers are needed for this facility and they are coupled with a system that increases energy consumption and enormous CO2 emissions. Since the prime concern is energy, the problem generates the need for Green Cloud Computing, which can boost the efficiency of energy and to lower down tracks of carbon and electronic waste. © 2023 IEEE.

COVID-19 caused a pandemic outbreak, resulting in many deaths and severe economic damage since 2019. Hence, the diagnosis of COVID-19 has become one of the major fields of research. Although RT-PCR has excellent reliability and precision, it is time-consuming and laborious. Therefore, the chest X-ray was used as an alternative and reliable diagnostic tool for COVID-19. However, it requires a radiologist to analyze the X-ray images, which is limited by the availability of experts and time. Henceforth, many researchers deployed automated computer-aided diagnosis with deep learning neural networks to speed up the diagnosis of COVID-19 with high accuracy and reproducibility. This study applied six state-of-art convolutional neural networks (DenseNet201, MobileNetV2, ResNet101V2, VGG16, InceptionNetV3, and Xception) with transfer learning. An integrated stacking ensemble method was used to concatenate DenseNet201, MobileNetV2, VGG16, and Xception to produce a robust and accurate diagnostic model for COVID-19. The proposed ensembled CNN model in this study produced a test accuracy of 0.9725, sensitivity of 0.9749, and F1-score of 0.9724. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Learning Management System (LMS) plays an essential role in interactive learning, especially after the COVID-19 outbreak with a rapid shift from traditional classroom learning to online learning. LMS also facilitates the continuous collection and evaluation of students' performance. In this paper, we focus on predicting students' in-class performance (i.e., in-lab) from their homework performance (i.e., pre-lab) using the data collected from LMS with four experimental exercises for the programming techniques course. We also investigate several machine learning methods and hyperparameters for model selection. The results show that Random Forest has the best performance. This investigated cause-effect relationship between pre- and in-lab grades not only helps teachers with a better understanding of the curriculum but also students with their learning results. © 2024 IEEE.

Smoking is a major cause of cancer,heart disease and other afflictions that lead to early *** effective smoking classification mechanism that provides insights into individual smoking habits would assist in implementing addiction treatment *** activities often accompany other activities such as drinking or ***,smoking activity recognition can be a challenging topic in human activity recognition(HAR).A deep learning framework for smoking activity recognition(SAR)employing smartwatch sensors was proposed together with a deep residual network combined with squeeze-and-excitation modules(ResNetSE)to increase the effectiveness of the SAR *** proposed model was tested against basic convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and recurrent neural networks(LSTM,BiLSTM,GRU and BiGRU)to recognize smoking and other similar activities such as drinking,eating and walking using the UT-Smoke *** different scenarios were investigated for their recognition performances using standard HAR metrics(accuracy,F1-score and the area under the ROC curve).Our proposed ResNetSE outperformed the other basic deep learning networks,with maximum accuracy of 98.63%.

Security, heterogeneity, and interoperability are the prominent concerns in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) with restricted amounts of resources such as energy, transmission range, and processing of packets. Moreover, secured and trusted communication among WSNs is required to enhance network lifetime and security, thereby reducing energy consumption in the network. Thus, the given paper presents an ontological-based trust aware hybrid key management scheme (OTAHKMS) for WSNs. The proposed approach is a two-fold approach, where the first phase involves the encryption process for maintaining data confidentiality and integrity, while the second phase involves the use of ontology for capturing trust relationships and representing contextual information among several nodes in the network. The performance of the proposed trusted approach is validated and compared with existing cited works based on evaluation metrics such as communication trust value (CTV), network throughput (NT), packet delivery ratio (PDR), and energy consumption (EC). The results show that the proposed ontological-based trusted approach efficiently outperforms existing protocols, thereby enhancing network lifetime and energy usage in WSNs. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management.

Falls are the contributing factor to both fatal and nonfatal injuries in the ***,pre-impact fall detection,which identifies a fall before the body collides with the floor,would be ***,researchers have turned their attention from post-impact fall detection to pre-impact fall ***-impact fall detection solutions typically use either a threshold-based or machine learning-based approach,although the threshold value would be difficult to accu-rately determine in threshold-based ***,while additional features could sometimes assist in categorizing falls and non-falls more precisely,the esti-mated determination of the significant features would be too time-intensive,thus using a significant portion of the algorithm’s operating *** this work,we developed a deep residual network with aggregation transformation called FDSNeXt for a pre-impact fall detection approach employing wearable inertial *** proposed network was introduced to address the limitations of fea-ture extraction,threshold definition,and algorithm *** training on a large-scale motion dataset,the KFall dataset,and straightforward evaluation with standard metrics,the proposed approach identified pre-impact and impact falls with high accuracy of 91.87 and 92.52%,*** addition,we have inves-tigated fall detection’s performances of three state-of-the-art deep learning models such as a convolutional neural network(CNN),a long short-term memory neural network(LSTM),and a hybrid model(CNN-LSTM).The experimental results showed that the proposed FDSNeXt model outperformed these deep learning models(CNN,LSTM,and CNN-LSTM)with significant improvements.

The COVID-19 pandemic has expedited the shift in education to online learning, which has exposed shortcomings in virtual learning environments' personalization and engagement. This research addresses these issues by developing a web application designed to enhance student engagement and learning efficiency. The system has gamified collaboration features, video chapter segmentation, and personalized video recommendation system. The methodology comprises models for generating chapter titles and for precise video transcription, and machine learning algorithms for tailored suggestions depending on user input. Interactive Questions and Answers modules and real-time synchronized video playback are included. The results demonstrate how the system's personalized content, interactive tests, and teamwork tools increase user engagement and comprehension. The efficacy of personalized material and real-time synchronization in enhancing learning results is discussed. This innovative approach offers a comprehensive solution to the challenges of online education, creating a more immersive and interactive learning experience. © 2024 IEEE.

The number of cars on the road in the world is currently increasing. With the widespread usage of vehicles, a slew of issues inevitably arises. The damage of the road can be annoying to the drivers, and congestion in traffic can waste both fuel and time. It's worth noting that one of the primary causes of car damage and aging is the state of the road surface. Driving comfort and vehicle controllability can be harmed by poor road conditions. As a result, the system of monitoring road status is crucial to reducing congestion in traffic, reducing accident rates, and protecting cars from hazardous road conditions. This paper proposes using a framework based on cloud-fog network architecture, The fog computing network architecture is a dispersed network that may process data at the fog layer to minimize cloud computing's computational load. This article presents a simulation study on the use of LoRaWAN technology in autonomous vehicles. The research focuses on developing an Auto-Handover Gateway for Autonomous Vehicles, utilizing LoRaWAN parameters such as bit rates, spreading factor (SF), packet loss, and received signal strength. These parameters are tested in simulations of autonomous vehicle movements, which include both regular and random motion patterns. The aim is to assess the performance of LoRaWAN in different scenarios and its impact on communication in autonomous vehicle systems. The simulation results show several key trends. As the vehicle moves further, the spreading factor (SF) increases, and bit rates tend to decrease, indicating a drop in communication performance over longer distances. The research also identifies that the gateway with the closest proximity to the vehicle is selected, both in random and non-random movement scenarios. Additionally, packet loss increases as the distance between the vehicle and the gateway grows, highlighting the challenges of maintaining reliable communication over long distances. These findings provide insights into optimizing LoRaWAN parameters for real-time communication in autonomous vehicles, contributing to the development of intelligent vehicle networks. © 2024 IEEE.
