Robust steganographic approach using generative adversarial network and compressive autoencoder

Nowadays, social media applications and websites have become a crucial part of people’s lives;for sharing their moments, contacting their families and friends, or even for their jobs. However, the fact that these valuable data are transferred via the Internet and open channels, which are vulnerable to attacks and espionage, requires using defense methods to improve the security of data transmission. Recently, the progress of Deep Learning (DL) inspired researchers to use it with security methods such as steganography, the art of hiding secret data in unrelated content. DL and steganography combined enhanced the hiding properties, especially in the Coverless Image Steganography (CIS) methods. In this paper, we propose a Compressive Coverless Image Steganography (CCIS) model, which is a generated-based CIS, to improve the capacity and robustness of Steganography. This model uses the compressive autoencoder to compress the message, thus increasing the capacity, and uses the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) to generate a stego image from the compressed vector, thus enhancing concealment ability, besides using a regression model and optimization method to extract the data. Another version was designed to enable sending binary messages by replacing the compressive autoencoder network with a robust mapping rule. Experiments show that the proposed model could improve the characteristics of Steganography. Furthermore, the proposed model could extract binary messages with 256 bits from attacked stego images with 99% recovery accuracy. Thus, capacity and robustness were enhanced using our model with both images and text as secret messages. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Predicting Microbe-Disease Association Based on Heterogeneous Network and Global Graph Feature Learning

Numerous microbes inhabit human body,making a vast difference in human health. Hence, discovering associations between microbes and diseases is beneficial to disease prevention and treatment. In this study,we develop a prediction method by learning global graph feature on the heterogeneous network(called HNGFL).Firstly, a heterogeneous network is integrated by known microbe-disease associations and multiple *** on microbe Gaussian interaction profile(GIP) kernel similarity, we consider different effects of these microbes on organs in the human body to further improve microbe similarity. For disease similarity network, we combine GIP kernel similarity, disease semantic similarity and disease-symptom similarity. And then, an embedding algorithm called GraRep is used to learn global structural information for this network. According to vector feature of every node, we utilize support vector machine classifier to calculate the score for each microbe-disease pair. HNGFL achieves a reliable performance in cross validation, outperforming the compared methods. In addition, we carry out case studies of three diseases. Results show that HNGFL can be considered as a reliable method for microbe-disease association prediction.

This study presents a detailed description of a Slotted V Shaped Compact Wideband Antenna designed for the purpose of microwave-based head imaging. The antenna under consideration comprises a radiating patch with a Vshaped slot and a partial ground with slots. Slots have been found to significantly improve the efficiency, dispersion of current, gain, and various other aspects of antennas. The antenna under consideration has a maximum gain of 5.85, operates within the frequency range of 4 to 8.06 GHz, and is deemed suitable for head imaging applications. The dimensions of the antenna under consideration are 0.33λ × 0.667λ × 0.21λ, where λ represents the wavelength, at a lower frequency of 4 GHz. Additionally, the antenna is equipped with a 50 ohm microstrip transmission line. The antenna is fabricated on a cost-effective FR4 substrate with a thickness of 1.5 mm. The antenna under consideration achieves a fractional bandwidth of 67.33% within the frequency range of 4 to 8 GHz. In order to optimize antenna performance, a comprehensive parametric analysis is carried out utilizing the widely recognized software tools HFSS and CST. The experimental testing and analysis of the prototype antenna yielded findings that exhibited a satisfactory level of concurrence with the corresponding calculations. © 2023 IEEE.

Safety of railway is the major problem worldwide. It has problems like cracks or any fault in the railway tracks. These problems can cause severe accidents if it is not detected regularly and early. In traditional fault finding and crack detecting method, the manual method is involved which is very slow and consist of many errors. By considering all these challenges and issues in track detection method, we have implemented an advanced IoT based railway crack and fault-finding system. It uses advanced sensors, microcontroller, GPS and GSM module which can detect and report faults of the railway track. The system uses real time mechanism. The system is implemented and tested on a prototype railway track to detect crack or any fault. The internet of things technology added modern and accurate fault-finding feature in the system. The IoT plays an important role in implementing advance technologies, as it uses sensors and advance microcontroller. The accuracy rate of fault and crack detection is around 97%, which is for 2 mm crack. Along with this GPS module accurately track fault location. GSM module successfully send the alert message quickly after detecting the fault in the track. Hence the response time is very less and accurate. This system is implemented in order to ensure safety for the railway track and prevent the accidents. Hence the system is useful for improving overall transport safety. © 2024 IEEE.

Centripetal Intensive Deep Hashing for Remote Sensing Image Retrieval

With the breakthrough of convolutional neural networks, deep hashing methods have demonstrated remarkable performance in large-scale image retrieval tasks. However, existing deep supervised hashing methods, which rely on pairwise or triplet labels, typically learn the hash function via random or hardest sample mining within training batches. This strategy primarily captures local sample similarities, causing a distribution shift and limiting retrieval performance. Furthermore, most methods emphasize global features while overlooking structural information, which is essential for understanding spatial relationships in images. To solve these limitations, we propose a Centripetal Intensive Deep Hashing (CIDH) method for remote sensing image retrieval. Initially, we design a Hybrid-Attention Guided Multiscale Refinement Network (HGMRN) that integrates channel and spatial attention to capture multiscale visual features and highlight salient regions at different scales. Subsequently, we introduce a central similarity loss via class-centered labels to optimize the spatial distribution of global samples, which can encourage hash codes with similar semantics to cluster around centroids and reduce distribution shift. Meanwhile, we incorporate a central intensive loss into the Hamming space to shorten intra-class Hamming distances, generating more compact and discriminative hash codes. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our CIDH method compared with current state-of-the-art deep hashing methods. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

The selection of the appropriate curve type of overcurrent relay function is significant for achieving optimal coordination of overcurrent protection in distribution networks. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the overcurrent relays performance regarding their different inverse time-current curve types. Additionally, different fault locations were taken into consideration. To investigate the impact of curve types on overcurrent relays coordination, we employed a uniform curve type for all overcurrent relays in two representative power systems. The results, encompassing three standardized IEC curve types, are presented, and analyzed to illustrate the efficacy of our proposed approach. Therefore, this study underscores the critical role that curve type selection has in determining the feasibility of attaining reasonably low overcurrent relay trip times. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper describes a modified SPICE-compatible VDMOS transistor model that includes NBT and self-heating effects. A complete circuit diagram of the transistor is given, which includes the electrical part of the circuit that models the NBT effect and the equivalent thermal part of the circuit that models the self-heating effect. The parameters of the model were determined based on the technical documentation and the fitting method based on the performed experiments. Fresh transistors and NBT-stressed transistors, with and without a heatsink in the load-driving circuit, were considered. The results of experiments and simulations correspond to each other with a maximum deviation of up to 10%. The proposed model can be used in the design and analysis of transistor reliability parameters. © 2024 IEEE.

The design of wireless mobile devices of the next generation 5G promises to address the demands of complex IOT designs in terms of connectivity technologies. The first section of the article gives a summary of the main characteristics of 5G technology, highlighting how it has the potential to completely change how Internet of Things devices interact and communicate. Real-time data transfer is made possible by 5G networks far lower latency and higher capacity, which open up possibilities for faster and smooth interactions between IoT *** report also explores how 5G may affect how much electricity Internet of Things devices use. 5G has the ability to solve a long-standing issue in the IoT ecosystem by extending the life of the batteries of IoT devices with the adoption of cost-effective communication protocols and increased network efficiency.
