Feasibility implementation of voltage-current waveform telemetry system in power delivery system

The electric power is indispensable for modern life. However, there is a problem of harmonic disturbance when the harmonic power runs into electronic devices. To overcome the problem and realize a stable supply of the electric power is an important issue. In this study, we have developed a voltage-current waveform telemetry system for the remote measurement of the harmonics in the power delivery lines. The system consists of sensors, preamplifiers, a single board computer, and power collectors. Improvements are made on all of these components except the sensors. The power collector is a coil that can be placed around the same power line that we measure. We have designed the power collector by a finite element method(FEM) so that it can provide enough electricity for the computer to work properly. Thus, no other power source such as a battery except the secondary rechargeable battery for the recovery is necessary at the measurement place. The preamplifier in the new system is a single-supply differential amplifier circuit, and the single board computer has an inexpensive SH-3 CPU. Through experiments, we have confirmed that the power collector can provide sufficient electricity and that the new system can successfully measure the waveforms and the harmonics in power delivery systems. © 2011 The institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

A search is presented for microscopic black holes in a like-sign dimuon final state in proton–proton collisions at s=8 TeV. The data were collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in 2012 and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb−1. Using a high track multiplicity requirement, 0.6±0.2 background events from Standard Model processes are predicted and none observed. This result is interpreted in the context of low-scale gravity models and 95% C.L. lower limits on microscopic black hole masses are set for different model assumptions.

In this paper, we propose a HDTV transmission over IEEE802.3ac 4 × 5 MIMO WLAN system. The proposed system employs the next generation wireless LAN system based on IEEE802.3ac specification. It reaches more than 33 meter propagation distance by using 80 MHz of bandwidth on the 5 GHz band. In this system, video data is compressed by JPEG 2000 with error resilience tools. These tools improve error performance against wireless channel, and enable very high throughput communication. computer simulations are used to evaluate the bit error performance's influences to the video quality. Finally, we present RTL design results of the proposed wireless LAN system.

The experiment was conducted to determine the Hue optical properties of the three categories of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) namely unripe, underripe and ripe. The Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera with tele-converter zooming and the Keyence machine vision were used to capture the FFB images with two different settings of natural environment and direct sunlight. The species of oil palm tree used for the experiments were Elaeis Oleifera and Elaeis Guineensis Jacq. The images from the Nikon digital camera were analysed for optical properties of Red, Green, Blue (RGB) and then convert to Hue value using developed graphical user interface (GUI). The Hue values will then be compared to the value obtained from Keyence machine vision. The images of oil palm FFB in plantation were captured with setting cameras parameter namely shutterspeed which set to 0.125 seconds, image sensor's sensitivity (ISO) was set to Normal and white balance were calibrated using the standard white calibration CR-A74. The lighting intensity under oil palm canopy was simultaneously recorded and monitored using Extech Light Meter Datalogger. Using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), the ratio of test statistic of F with F critical for experiments under natural environment of oil palm plantation indicated the best differences of the hue optical properties among different maturity level of unripe, ripe and overripe FFB. Using the SAS programming for statistical analysis, the Hue and Red color values were found had significant effect to distinguish the maturity level (fm) of FFB with Pr > F are showed less than 0.01. The Green and Blue color values were not significant effect to differentiate the FFB maturity level which indicated the value of Pr > F showed 0.0243 and 0.9938 respectively. The Hue and Blue color values were not interaction with different lighting condition and the maturity level which indicated Pr > F for ml*fm showed 0.0668 and 0.1667 respectively. This work proposes a bit-adjacent Data Background (DB) management scheme to improve fault coverage of March algorithms while simultaneously maintaining the shortest test cycle. Both static and dynamic DB transitions are used in order to detect Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (DRDFs) and Write Disturb Faults (WDFs) that are not detected by previous algorithms. A conventional March Test Algorithm can be modified by using the DB management scheme to form a new March Test Algorithm (referred to as Mod March Test Algorithm), e.g., MATS++(6N) becoming Mod MATS++(6N). This paper shows that Mod March SR (14N) and Mod March CL (12N) can detect DRDFs and WDFs while the corresponding conventional algorithms cannot. It is also shown that Mod March CL(12N) and Mod March SR(14N) with DB management can detect all Static Single Cell Faults based on the Bit-Oriented-Memories (BOM) test method. Comparisons on test cycle time for Mod March SR, March SR, and March SS in the context of memory Built-In-Self-Test (BIST) are also presented. From the simulation result, it shows that by including Data Backgrounds (DBs) management in Bit-Oriented Memories (BOM), the cycle test time is the same after a given multiple of DBs in the test algorithm.

The revolution in web world led to increasing users' needs, demands and expectations. By the time, those needs developed starting from ordinary static pages, moving on to fully dynamic ones and reaching the need for services and applications to be available on the web!.. Those demands changed the perspective of our web today to what's said to be a cloud of computing that aims mainly to provide applications as services for web user. As time goes by, applications were just not enough;users needed their applications and data available anytime, anywhere. For these reasons, traditional operating system functionality was needed to be provided as a service that integrates several applications together with user's data. In this paper we present the detailed description, implementation and evaluation of SEWOS [1]- a semantically enhanced web operating system- that provides the feel, look and mimic traditional desktop applications using desktop metaphor.

In 2009 the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) started to roll out regional bioinformatics conferences in Africa, Latin America and Asia. The open and competitive bid for the first meeting in Asia (ISCBAsia) was awarded to Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet) which has been running the International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) in the Asia-Pacific region since 2002. InCoB/ISCB-Asia 2011 is held from November 30 to December 2, 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Of 104 manuscripts submitted to BMC Genomics and BMC Bioinformatics conference supplements, 49 (47.1%) were accepted. The strong showing of Asia among submissions (82.7%) and acceptances (81.6%) signals the success of this tenth InCoB anniversary meeting, and bodes well for the future of ISCB-Asia. © 2011 licensee BioMed Central Ltd.

The 2011 International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) conference, which is the annual scientific conference of the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet), is hosted by Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is co-organized with the first ISCB-Asia conference of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB). InCoB and the sequencing of the human genome are both celebrating their tenth anniversaries and InCoB's goalposts for the next decade, implementing standards in bioinformatics and globally distributed computational networks, will be discussed and adopted at this conference. Of the 49 manuscripts (selected from 104 submissions) accepted to BMC Genomics and BMC Bioinformatics conference supplements, 24 are featured in this issue, covering software tools, genome/ proteome analysis, systems biology (networks, pathways, bioimaging) and drug discovery and design. © 2011 Ranganathan et al;licensee BioMed Central Ltd.

The article briefly analyzes the vibration mechanism of the gear fault and kinds of typical signal characteristics of the gears, and introduces successive fuzzy reasoning into the fault diagnosis of the gears. For the selection of characteristic parameters, we used the discrimination index DI to evaluate the identification ability of the characteristic parameters, and select the characteristic parameters of the largest value of DI . According to possibility theory and statistics and probability theory, we replace the original feature parameters into feature parameters of known distributional, and then equate the membership function used in fuzzy reasoning. Finally, the given diagnosis instance indicates that it is effective and feasible to use the method of successive fuzzy reasoning in the fault diagnosis of gears. ©2010 IEEE.
