Magnetic domain observation of Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet at elevated temperature

Magnetization reversal and its propagation in sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets were clearly observed at elevated temperature up to 150 °C using a Kerr microscope, image processing, and photo editing. Simultaneous magnetization reversal in several grains along the easy axis direction occurred at elevated temperature, and the extent of simultaneous magnetization reversal increased with temperature. This indicates that reduction in the coercivity of Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets at elevated temperatures is attributable to decrease in anisotropy and insufficient pinning of domain walls at grain boundaries.

ICT becomes a key element to improve industrial infrastructure efficiency and sustainable economic productivity. This study aims to analysis the impact of regional improvement on information and communication development in Indonesia. This research is a correlational study. Population of this research include 151 regions in Indonesia. By using a total sampling, there were 151 sample regions. The results show there are the strong impact of regional growth on increasing Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of information and communication. It can be seen from all regional improvement sub variables that have a high correlation in increasing GRDP of Information and Communication in Indonesia. Only two sub-variables that have low correlation to GRDP of Information and Communication variable i.e. GRDP of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (0.01) and GRDP of Mining and Quarrying (0.04). The correlation coefficient (R) is 0.981, means the variable of information and communication GRDP has a very strong correlation with regional growth variable. Thus the value of Adjusted R Square is 95.8%, means there are impact of regional growth variables in increasing GRDPof Information and Communication, while the increase of 4.2% of Information and Communication GRDP is influenced by other factors aside from regional improvement.

E-Business, Airport Development and Its Impact on the Increasing of Information of Communication Development in Indonesia

The increasing number of the internet usage by households have an effect on the tourism sector. On the other hand, the aviation industry is growing as one of the development centers. This study aims to analyze the impact of information and communication development to airport performance in Indonesia. This is a correlation research with 151 of airports in Indonesia as a population. The sampling technique was done by using total sampling. The results of correlation (R) indicates the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Information and Communication has a relatively strong relationship with the Airport Performance. Meanwhile the results of Adjusted R test shows that they are other factors in increasing GRDP of Information and Communication besides Airport Performance. It shows the low impact of Information and Communication GRDP to the Airport Performance.

The decline of development delived from natural resources in several regions in Indonesia requires local governments to make a breakthrough in increasing revenues beyond natural resources, including through increased revenue in the field of information technology. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the regional government development (APBD) on information and communication development in Indonesia. By using correlational research, it is known that all of APBD sub variables have a high correlation in increasing Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Information and Communication in Indonesia, only sub-variable of surplus/deficit development, unexpected development sub-variable, subvariable of development aid to province/regency/city and village government, and sub-variable of development special allocations that have not a significant correlation to increase of GRDP of Information and Communication in Indonesia. There is 86,7% of APBD variable influence the increase of GRDP of Information and Communication, while the increase of 15,3% of Information and Communication GRDP influenced by other factors aside from APBD. It shows the strong impact of APBD on increasing GRDP of Information and Communication

This study examined English classroom environments with active learning methods in Japanese high schools. Students learned English using a paper-based quiz during group discussions. We administered a questionnaire to the students, and the results indicated that 45% of the students would like to use information and communication technology (ICT) tools such as computers and tablets to study English in a classroom. Therefore, we propose active learning methods with ICT tools to enhance creativity, problem solving ability, and knowledge during student activities in group discussions using Google Applications.

In tennis game analysis, the 3D position of ball plays a crucial role in score judgment and player evaluation. When tracking the tennis ball in 3D space, high speed and abrupt motion change of the tennis ball are the main problems which make it difficult to predict the near future course of the ball. Aiming at solving above two problems, we propose a system model based on an elaborated mixture system noise. The mixture system noise consists of general change noise and adaptive abrupt change noise which is dependent on motion prejudgment result of tennis ball. The motion prejudgment method is carried out by the current state of ball and players. The motion of ball is classified into general motion and three abrupt motions, including smash, bounce and hit the net. Experiments based on 13 HDTV video sequences, which were recorded by four cameras located at four corners of the tennis court outside in a cloudy day including two players were used to explore the performance of the proposed method. The tracking success rate is 81.14%, gaining 27.64% improvement compared with conventional work.

Mining class association rules (CARs) with the itemset constraint is concerned with the discovery of rules, which contain a set of specific items in the rule antecedent and a class label in the rule consequent. This task is commonly encountered in mining medical data. For example, when classifying which section of the population is at high risk for the HIV infection, epidemiologists often concentrate on rules which include demographic information such as gender, age, and marital status in the rule antecedent, and HIV-Positive in the rule consequent. There are two naive strategies to solve this problem, namely pre-processing and post-processing. The post-processing methods have to generate and consider a huge number of candidate CARs while the performance of the pre-processing methods depend on the number of records filtered out. Therefore, such approaches are time consuming. This study proposes an efficient method for mining CARs with the itemset constraint based on a lattice structure and the difference between two sets of object identifiers (diffset). Firstly, a lattice structure is built to store all frequent itemsets in the dataset. To reduce memory usage, instead of the entire set of object identifiers, the diffset is used. Secondly, the lattice is traversed to generate only rules which satisfy the itemset constraint. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing methods in terms of both the mining time and memory usage. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Bursts of gamma ray showers have been observed in coincidence with downward propagating negative leaders in lightning flashes by the Telescope Array Surface Detector (TASD). The TASD is a 700 square kilometer cosmic ray observatory located in southwestern Utah, U.S.A. In data collected between 2014 and 2016, correlated observations showing the structure and temporal development of three shower-producing flashes were obtained with a 3D lightning mapping array, and electric field change measurements were obtained for an additional seven flashes, in both cases co-located with the TASD. National Lightning Detection Network (NLDN) information was also used throughout. The showers arrived in a sequence of 2–5 short-duration (≤10 µs) bursts over time intervals of several hundred microseconds, and originated at an altitude of 3–5 kilometers above ground level during the first 1–2 ms of downward negative leader breakdown at the beginning of cloud-to-ground lightning flashes. The shower footprints, associated waveforms and the effect of atmospheric propagation indicate that the showers consist primarily of downward-beamed gamma radiation. This has been supported by GEANT simulation studies, which indicate primary source fluxes of 1012–1014 photons for 16◦ half-angle beams. We conclude that the showers are terrestrial gamma-ray flashes (TGFs), similar to those observed by satellites, but that the ground-based observations are more representative of the temporal source activity and are also more sensitive than satellite observations, which detect only the most powerful TGFs. Application of proper orthogonal decomposition and radial basis functions for crack size estimation using particle swarm optimization

Complex engineering problems require simulations, which are computationally expensive in cases of inverse identification tasks since they commonly requires hundreds of thousands of simulations. This paper propose a method based on model reduction for crack size estimation, combining the proper orthogonal decomposition method with radial basis functions. The reduced model is validated by comparing the obtained boundary displacements with the corresponding results from a finite element model. This inverse procedure is formulated as the minimization of the difference between the measured and computed values of displacement at selected boundary nodes, called sensor points, using particle swarm optimization algorithm. Convex and a non-convex specimens have been considered for investigations of crack presence, and identification of its size, different crack sizes have been tested to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.
