Critical Current Densities and Force-displacement Characteristics of Fluxoids in Ba 1-x KxFe 2 As 2 Single Crystal

The superconducting Ba1- x K x Fe2As2 ( x = 0.4) single crystals were prepared by the so-called FeAs self-flux method. The critical temperature by ac susceptibility measurement was estimated to be about 36 K. The magnetic field and temperature dependences of critical current densities were investigated by an ac inductive measurement (Campbell's method). Unlike the phenomenon of co-existence of the global and local critical current densities observed in many polycrystalline Fe-based superconducting pnictides, it was found that only a uniform critical current density (Jc) flows through the whole sample. The value of Jc at 20 K and 1 T was about 5×108 A/m2, which is much smaller than the local critical current density observed in polycrystalline samples. The force-displacement characteristic of fluxoids in sample was investigated. The Labusch parameter was found to increase monotonously with increasing magnetic field, while the interaction distance was proportional to the fluxoid spacing. These results are consistent with the prediction based on a simple flux pinning mechanism.

In order to practically examine a new type of class, in which cooperative learning is taken into consideration, we designed and built a classroom. This classroom, in which furniture and a flexible ICT basis are both designed reconfigurable, supports much more complex interactions between learners than in a traditional classroom. Two months' observation of the activities in the classroom shows that many aspects of the reconfigurations have encouraged complex interactions within cooperative learning. © 2011 IEEE.

Integrating a large number of embedded memories in system-on-Chips (SoC's) occupies up to more than 70% of the die size, thus requiring Built-In Self-Test (BIST) with the smallest possible area overhead. This paper analyzes MATS++(6N), March C-(10N), March SR(14N), and March CL(12N) test algorithms and shows that they cannot detect either Write Disturb Faults (WDFs) or Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (DRDFs) or both. Therefore to improve fault detection, an automation program is developed based on sequence operation (SQ) generation rules. However after solving the undetected fault, the outcome in term of its detection result of Static Double Cell Faults using the specified test algorithm especially Transition Coupling Faults (CFtrs), Write Destructive Coupling Faults (CFwds), Read Destructive Coupling Faults (CFrds) and Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (CFdrds) are observed.

The paper presents a case report of the therapy by neurofeedback training of a chronic female schizophrenia outpatient. The purpose of the neurofeedback training was to enhance cognition, memory and behavioral performance. We used an intensive approach. All the training sessions were performed during 4 consecutive days. The results showed that the patient learnt to increase individual alpha amplitude and simultaneously decrease beta2 (20-30 Hz) amplitude at P4 site during active state over sessions. The individual alpha increased 74.73% and beta2 decreased 13.73%. The short term memory was enhanced after training. Her mood had positive change and her speech was much clearer than before. She started to associate the meaning of her life and illness. These results support that neurofeedback is not only a feasible therapy for schizophrenia but also positive results could be obtained using a much more intensive training sessions than the one reported in the literature.

t-norms are significant operations employed in various fields including fuzzy theories. There exist many types of t-norms. t-norms defined on discrete domains and continuous domains have rather different properties. It is known that continuous and strictly monotone t-norms defined on continuous domains have generating functions [1, 4, 5]. Generating functions are important functions that characterize the properties of t-norms. In this article, tow-dimensional t-norms are proposed, and their properties are studied. Furthermore, it is shown that if a tow-dimensional t-norm satisfies particular conditions, it could be decomposed into Cartesian product of two one-dimensional t-norms and each one-dimensional t-norm have a generating function. Applications of two-dimensional t-norms are briefly discussed at the last of this article [2, 3]. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

The green ICT is becoming extremely important for energy saving. The power consumption of network devices i.e., switches and routers, can be reduced by changing the transmission rate on their interfaces according to the amount of traffic. Energy-efficient routing based on the power reduction of devices may be attractive way for effectively saving energy over networks. Some schemes for energy-efficient routing have been studied in which traffic from some sources is aggregated on the particular link/node for power saving of others when the amount of traffic on network becomes low. Effectiveness of these schemes were shown by computer simulations and experiments in their own network environments. Therefore in this paper, we first implement some schemes on our test-bed network to compare both power consumption and transmission performance of them. We also investigate the applicability and scalability of these schemes on large scale networks and finally discuss important issues for more general and effective schemes. © 2011 IEEE.

It is important to investigate condensation energy density of superconducting material, since it determines its pinning property. According to the heavy-ion irradiation, the columnar defects are introduced to the superconductor which act as the strong pinning centers, and the critical current density is enhanced by the new pinning centers. Since the number density and the size of the columnar defects can be observed, the condensation energy density is estimated by using the pinning summation theory. In the present study, we prepared Ba(Fe0.93Co0.07)2As2 (Ba-122) pnictide superconductors by self-ﬂux method. 200 MeV Au ions were irradiated into the specimens along c -axis and the matching ﬁeld was 2 T. After the irradiation, the critical current density was 6 times larger than that before the irradiation. The estimated condensation energy density is in the order of 10 4 J/m 3 and is slightly smaller than those of cuprate superconductors. The temperature dependence is similar to that of YBa2Cu3O x oxide superconductors, since the anisotropy parameter is small in Ba-122. Therefore, it is expected to use Ba-122 at high temperatures near the critical temperature.

In this review paper, we report the characteristics of the critical current density in FeAs based superconductors which is newly discovered by Hosono group of Tokyo institute of technology on 2008. Since the many specimens in present stage are not single crystals, there are two kinds of critical current density observed in the specimens which are so-called local and global critical current densities. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate both kinds of critical current densities. The history effect in which the global critical current density shows different values in increasing and decreasing magnetic field is also observed when the specimens have the local and the global critical current densities. The wire which critical current is 180 A is successfully developed with using the knowledge of abovementioned characteristics of two kinds of critical current densities and the history effect.

The scale, diversity, and decentralized administration of the Internet mean that to continuously acquire the global status of the network and to timely identify the causes of communication performance degradation is reasonably difficult. However, emerging advanced network applications, which are often sensitive to communication quality and bandwidth consumption, as well as increasing security threats, strongly require a higher quality of network measurement and analysis in terms of granularity (spatial and temporal), timeliness, continuity, coverage, and reliability. Integrating multiple-location, diverse-type, and long-term measurements has been considered a key means for coping with such difficulties. In addition, the measured data and analyzed results should be flexibly shared and reused for efficiency. Therefore, a multi-domain network measurement platform should be realized, as it can provide integrated network monitoring and analysis functionality over the Internet on demand and can adapt to the purposes of the individual users (applications) and operators. In this paper, we thus briefly introduce the design principles and software implementation for a perfSONAR-based integrated network measurement system aiming at "Internet Monitoring As a Service", together with a preliminary experiment using a prototype system on the Internet. With help of a function we newly designed and developed, our system can easily utilize new measurement tools and flexibly integrate and provide the measurement results of those tools to users. © 2011 IEEE.
