This work presents the development and implementation of an armband for EMG-data acquisition of the upper arm. The developed prototype serves for investigations on EMG-signal processing with the final objective of reliably controlling a prosthesis for a transhumeral amputee. To make the product available for a greatest possible number of people one of the main characteristics will be a design of very low cost. A focus is put on the electric circuit design. In order to manufacture the prototype without difficulties, it is exclusively designed with components, which are available on the Ecuadorian market. The development is based on previous investigations and approaches of other researchers. With help of electric circuit simulations, the design was adapted and optimized step by step and a reliable low-noise circuit was established. All components are arranged on printed circuit boards in a way to keep the device as small as possible. To optimally avoid noise the length of the connection from the electrodes to the amplifier is minimized. Compact 3D-printed housings cover all the electric components. All housings consist of only two parts and are intuitive to assemble. Holes in the bottom offer space to fix electrodes via a snap-fastener connection. 3D-printed elastic straps are designed to connect the subsystems and hold the device in place. The armband including two sensors weighs 92 g and is capable of measuring two muscles with a bipolar EMG-setting each, sharing one reference electrode, which is aligned on the side of the upper arm between the biceps and triceps muscles. The amplification of the sensors is adjustable individually by potentiometers, facilitating a gain factor range of 211 to 2016 V/V. The data is recorded by a microcontroller board and send to a computer for processing via wire or Bluetooth. For wireless operation, rechargeable batteries are integrated. Recently, the research emphasis has shifted towards 5G due to its potential to accommodate the increasing demand for data traffic, extensive interconnectivity of devices, and the emergence of numerous novel applications. Given the inadequacy of speed provided by spectrum resources in the lower frequency bands of 5G, a novel sub-generation utilizing millimeter wave frequencies has been introduced. The new sub-generation is called mm-wave 5G and provides higher bandwidth for faster speed and higher capacity. RF system architecture, circuits, and antenna innovation will be required to provide the requisite speed and capacity. In this paper the design challenges and trade-offs in RF front-end circuits and receiver sub-systems are discussed. Moreover, the massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques are examined. In addition, design, and simulation of key components in 5G mm-wave receiver, including the design of linear phased array antenna receiver and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is presented. Sigma-Delta (ΣΔM) Converters are a type of ADC with a technique that involves oversampling and shaping quantization noise to achieve a higher resolution which make it a best choice to be used in the design of the mm wave 5G communication applications. The proposed ΣΔM uses multistage architecture to provide high-order noise shaping and high resolution. The simulation results shows that the designed Cascade 2-2 MASH ΣΔ achieve a signal to noise ratio of 110(resolution of 16 bits). © 2024 IEEE.

Classical stochastic Conway Game of Life is expressed by the dissipative Schrödinger equation and dissipative tight-binding model. This is conducted at the prize of usage of time dependent anomalous non-Hermitian Hamiltonians as with occurrence of complex value potential that do not preserve the normalization of wave-function and thus allows for mimicking creationism or annihilationism of cellular automaton. Simply saying time-dependent complex value eigenenergies are similar to complex values of resonant frequencies in electromagnetic resonant cavities reflecting presence of dissipation that reflects energy leaving the system or being pumped into the system. At the same time various aspects of thermodynamics were observed in cellular automata that can be later reformulated by quantum mechanical pictures. The usage of Shannon entropy and mass equivalence to energy points definition of cellular automata temperature. Contrary to intuitive statement the system dynamical equilibrium is always reflected by negative temperatures. Diffusion of mass, energy and temperature as well as phase of proposed wave function is reported and can be directly linked with second thermodynamics law approximately valid for the system, where neither mass nor energy is conserved. The concept of complex-valued mass mimics wave-function behavior. Equivalence an anomalous second Fick law and dissipative Schrödinger equation is given. A cataract is one of the most significant eye problems worldwide that does not immediately impair vision and progressively worsens over *** cataract prediction based on various imaging technologies has been addressed recently,such as smartphone apps used for remote health monitoring and eye *** recent years,advances in diagnosis,prediction,and clinical decision support using Artificial Intelligence(AI)in medicine and ophthalmology have been *** to privacy concerns,a lack of data makes applying artificial intelligence models in the medical field *** address this issue,a federated learning framework named CDFL based on a VGG16 deep neural network model is proposed in this *** study collects data from the Ocular Disease Intelligent Recognition(ODIR)database containing 5,000 patient *** significant features are extracted and normalized using the min-max normalization *** the federated learning-based technique,the VGG16 model is trained on the dataset individually after receiving model updates from two *** transferring the attributes to the global model,the suggested method trains the local *** global model subsequently improves the technique after integrating the new *** client analyses the results in three rounds to decrease the over-fitting *** experimental result shows the effectiveness of the federated learning-based technique on a Deep Neural Network(DNN),reaching a 95.28%accuracy while also providing privacy to the patient’s *** experiment demonstrated that the suggested federated learning model outperforms other traditional methods,achieving client 1 accuracy of 95.0%and client 2 accuracy of 96.0%.

Next generation networks are envisaged to be heterogeneous networks (RetNets), primarily through the dense deployment of small cells in the coverage area of macro cells. RetNet leads to new cell edges with high-level inter-cell interferences (ICIs) that can be increased twice compared to the conventional cellular network design. Consequently, mitigating ICI plays a vital role in the next generation networks. Coordinated multipoint (CoMP) is an advanced communication technique that is able to mitigate the strongest ICI signals and turn them into useful signals. In CoMP, multiple macro and/or small transmission points (TPs) are involved in the transmission to cell edge users leading to further enhance performance of these users. In this paper, we investigate the downlink (DL) performance of 5G HetNet when CoMP technique is used for ICI mitigation. A system-level simulation is developed in order to evaluate and compare the DL performance of joint transmission (JT) CoMP scheme, dynamic point selection (DPS) CoMP scheme and Non- CoMP scheme. The effect of CoMP margin on the performance of CoMP technique is also investigated. Simulation results show that JT scheme outperforms DPS and Non-CoMP schemes in terms of the average DL signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), average DL spectral efficiency and outage probability. In addition, the percentage of users who use CoMP increases as CoMP margin is increased. Simulation results also show that the percentage of users whose CoMP TPs consists of one macro TP and one small TP is the highest and this percentage increases as CoMP margin is increased. © 2023 IEEE.

Augmented Reality (AR) is rapidly transforming educational landscapes, offering an immersive and interactive learning experience. This literature mapping review explores the current landscape of AR in higher education research. By systematically analyzing peer-reviewed publications in the last five years from 2019 to 2023, the review identifies key trends, application areas, author collaboration patterns, and research foci, were extracted, analyzed, and visualized using R and VOSViewer. The analysis reveals a growing body of research, with a surge in publications after 2020. Science, Technology, engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects dominate AR applications, highlighting its potential to visualize abstract concepts. The review further investigates the impact of AR on student outcomes, including engagement and learning processes. It also examines the geographical distribution of research and identifies knowledge gaps for future exploration. Overall, this review provides a comprehensive map of AR in higher education research, laying the groundwork for further investigation into its pedagogical effectiveness and broader implementation across disciplines. © 2024 IEEE.

A Type 1 Takagi Sugeno Fuzzy Logic Controller (T1TSFLC) for a weeding agricultural robot with four-wheel steering (4WS) and four-wheel drive (4WD) is proposed in this paper. Two basic behaviors are studied and simulated: Goal-finding and obstacle-avoidance. The simulation results under a variety of scenarios illustrate the effectiveness and robustness of the T1TSFL navigator for controlling a 4WS/4WD robot in an unstructured and uncertain environment. © 2022 IEEE.

Currently, social networks, where people can express their opinion through content and comments, are fast developing and affect various areas of daily life;Particularly, some research on YouTube travel channels found that almost tourists and audiences leave comments about their attitudes to that place. Thus, mining the emotional recognition of comments through artificial intelligence can bring knowledge about the tourists’ general view. This article analyzes the relationship(s) between social media use and its effect on community-based tourism in Thailand using the Social Media Sensing framework (S-Sense) as sentiment analysis and the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) methods to analyze the text comments. This research collected 51,280 comments on 114 Youtube Videos, which are tourist attractions in various provinces in Thailand. The approach categorizes attractions based on sentiment analysis of 60% or more, including restaurants, markets, historical sites, temples, or natural attractions. The results show that 67.51% of the 19,391 clean-processed comments were satisfied with those attraction places. Therefore S-Sense and BiLSTM models can be sufficient to analyze the attitude of comments about attraction places with from 43 to remain 33 keywords of 1,603 comments. Furthermore, the offered sentiment analysis method has higher precision, recall, and F1 scores. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper presents StreamTag, a platform designed for the efficient management of labeled data in healthcare environments, particularly for activity recognition systems in residential and nursing home settings. Human Activity Recognition (HAR) is crucial for monitoring patient behaviors and supporting personalized care, and this field has evolved significantly with advances in IoT and AI. StreamTag integrates a flexible data labeling structure and a modular architecture, enabling data collection, labeling, and secure management of activity data. The system leverages non-relational databases for scalable data handling, along with secure protocols to ensure data integrity and privacy. This work examines existing approaches in HAR, including data-driven, knowledge-based, and hybrid models, and situates StreamTag as a versatile solution that combines flexible user-controlled labeling with high adaptability for diverse healthcare contexts.
