Optimal scheduling of graph states via path decompositions

We study the optimal scheduling of graph states in measurement-based quantum computation, establishing an equivalence between measurement schedules and path decompositions of graphs. We define the spatial cost of a measurement schedule based on the number of simultaneously active qubits and prove that an optimal measurement schedule corresponds to a path decomposition of minimal width. Our analysis shows that approximating the spatial cost of a graph is NP-hard, while for graphs with bounded spatial cost, we establish an efficient algorithm for computing an optimal measurement schedule.

During the application development process, it is important for a developer to analyze user requirements. This is crucial to the success of interactive systems and is an essential component of the design of information systems. User requirement analysis aids developers in understanding and analyzing users' needs and technology requirements. Throughout this case study, it is able to forecast the understanding, and technology acceptance, and at the same time improve the quality of work, reducing training and support costing and perennially improve customer or user satisfaction. The method of research selected is questionnaires that focused on collecting the data directly from Malaysian farmers through Google Forms as an online medium. The method was chosen because it is easy to implement and inexpensive due to the current situation of Covid-19. The questionnaire is designed with two sections where;a) includes the participant's demography to analyze information of the intended audience while b)focused on the knowledge of participants about recognition images. Results demonstrate the farmer's opinion and knowledge of the technology of image recognition in the agriculture sector. The quantitative research was undertaken using an online platform due to the Covid-19 pandemic. From the analysis, it is justified that the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) together with the mobile farming image recognition app is useful in collecting farmers' feedback and positive results have an outcome on the challenges faced by the durian farmers. © 2023 IEEE.

The increasing use of fossil fuels has a significant impact on the environment and ecosystem,which increases the rate of *** the high potential of renewable energy sources inYemen and the absence of similar studies in the region,this study aims to examine the potential of wind energy in Socotra *** was done by analyzing and evaluating wind properties,determining available energy density,calculating wind energy extracted at different altitudes,and then computing the capacity factor for a number of wind turbines and determining the *** average wind speed in Socotra Island was obtained from the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority data,only for the five-year data currently *** results showed high wind speeds from June to September(9.85-14.88 m/s)while the wind speed decreased for the rest of the *** average wind speed in the five years was 7.95 m/*** average annual wind speed,wind energy density,and annual energy density were calculated at different altitudes(10,30,and 50 m).According to the International Wind Energy Rating criteria,the region of Socotra Island falls under Category 7 and is classified as‘Superb’for most of the *** study provides useful information for developing wind energy and an efficient wind approach.

Cybersecurity knowledge is essential in today’s increasingly digital healthcare environment to protect sensitive patient data and guarantee the integrity of healthcare systems. But conventional cybersecurity training approaches frequently fail to hold healthcare professionals’ attention, which results in inadequate application and retention of the material. In order to increase cybersecurity awareness among healthcare professionals, this study investigates the use of gamification—a technological technique that incorporates game design aspects into non-gaming contexts—as an innovative method. A mixed-methods research methodology is used in the study to assess the effectiveness of a cybersecurity training program that is gamified. To encourage user involvement and motivation, the program incorporates aspects like leaderboards, interactive scenarios, badges, and points. The study included a total of 100 healthcare professionals from various departments, offering a thorough understanding of the program’s effects across a range of positions and experience levels. Pre- and post-training surveys were used to gather quantitative data on participant changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors pertaining to cybersecurity procedures. Furthermore, semi-structured interviews yielded qualitative insights that further elucidated the participants’ perspectives and experiences with the gamified training method. Comparing gamification to conventional training approaches, the results show that gamification dramatically improves engagement and knowledge retention. The willingness of the participants to acquire and use cybersecurity techniques in their daily lives has reportedly increased. Additionally, the gamified components strengthened the training objectives by fostering a competitive yet cooperative learning environment. Due to its simplicity of usage across a variety of applications, the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm is usually utilized as a classification approach. The K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm's accuracy is greatly impacted by the occurrence of multidimensional and outlier data. This research uses a novel hybrid technique known as Particle Optimized Scored K-Nearest Neighbor (POSKNN) to build a model to predict the emergence of dental fluorosis. The proposed novel approach is implemented in two phases: the first phase helps in the resolution of multidimensional data by performing selection of feature using the Modified Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm, and the second phase helps in the resolution of the presence of outliers by making use of the results of the first phase and applying the newly proposed scored KNN technique to them. The suggested approach was tested using a real-world dataset acquired from three dentistry clinics in Egypt's El Baharia Oasis, which has 56 attributes, two classes, and 328 records. 10-fold cross validation was implemented to the model. The experimental evaluation was divided into two parts;evaluation for modified particle swarm optimization, evaluation for scored K nearest neighbor, and the hybrid particle optimized scored K nearest neighbor. The experiment's results demonstrated that the suggested approach outperformed the traditional KNN and the modified KNN. POSKNN achieved an accuracy of 94.5% when K value is 11. © 2023 IEEE.

Background segmentation is an important step in analysis of histopathological images. It allows one to remove irrelevant regions and focus on the tissue of interest. However, background segmentation is challenging due to the variability of stain colors and intensity levels across different images, modalities, and magnification levels. In this paper, we present a learning-based model for histopathology background segmentation based on convolutional neural networks. We compare two multiresolution approaches to deal with the variability of magnification in histopathology images: (i) model that uses upscaling of smaller patches of the image, and (ii) model simultaneously trained on multiple resolution levels. Our model is characterized by solid performance both in multiresolution and multistain dyes (H &E and IHC), achieving good performance on publicly available dataset. The quantitative scores are, in terms of the Dice score, close to 94.71. The qualitative analysis presents strong performance on previously unseen cases from different distributions and various dyes. We freely release the model, weights, and ground-truth annotations to promote the open science and reproducible research. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Network updates have become increasingly prevalent since the broad adoption of software-defined networks(SDNs)in data *** TCP designs,including cutting-edge TCP variants DCTCP,CUBIC,and BBR,however,are not resilient to network updates that provoke flow *** this paper,we first demonstrate that popular TCP implementations perform inadequately in the presence of frequent and inconsistent network updates,because inconsistent and frequent network updates result in out-of-order packets and packet drops induced via transitory congestion and lead to serious performance *** look into the causes and propose a network update-friendly TCP(NUFTCP),which is an extension of the DCTCP variant,as a *** are used to assess the proposed *** findings reveal that NUFTCP can more effectively manage the problems of out-of-order packets and packet drops triggered in network updates,and it outperforms DCTCP considerably.

A DSL-based Approach for Code Generation and Navigation Process Management in a Single Page Application

Single page applications (SPAs) are web applications that offer a fast and responsive user experience, but also pose some challenges in terms of navigation process management and platform compatibility. In this paper, we propose a DSL-based approach for code generation and management of SPA navigation process, based on the visual vocabulary proposed by Garrett. We use a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) to describe the elements of the SPA, such as pages, connectors, and transitions, in a concise and abstract way. We also propose a metamodel for Garrett vocabulary, which defines the concepts and relationships of the DSL. Then, we apply a Model-Driven engineering (MDE) technique to transform the DSL specification into a platform-specific project architecture and basic code for an SPA. We present a case study of using our DSL to generate an Angular SPA and evaluate the benefits of our approach in terms of productivity, maintainability, and reusability.

The agriculture industry is one of the most significant sources of foreign exchange and employment in the Sri Lankan market. Therefore, small crops play a crucial role in ensuring the food security of the population as they are integral components of Sri Lankan cuisine. However, industry experts have identified inefficient disease and pest management as a hindrance to production. This issue requires immediate attention and proper action, which can be effectively addressed through the utilization of ICT technologies. Consequently, this research paper proposes a smart system that aims to assist farmers and agriculture professionals by providing them with farmer education, disease and infestation management tools, as well as progression level calculations. The implementation of this system aims to uplift the agriculture industry in Sri Lanka. The developed 'AI-based mobile application system for Brinjal Diseases,' which is based on analyzing the eating patterns of leafhopper damage, presents an innovative approach to identify the most significant threats to Brinjal, specifically focusing on leafhopper damage. This proposed system effectively informs various stakeholders, including the Area Agricultural Research Officer, Seed Certification and Plant Protection Center (SCPPC), Agricultural Service Center, Office of the Register of Pesticides (ROP), Plant Protection Service (PPS), as well as farmers, regarding the dispersion and prevention of brinjal diseases and pest infections. © 2023 IEEE.
