Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) rely solely on direct node communication and function without a fixed infrastructure. Due to their decentralized design, they are susceptible to numerous security risks, with black hole attacks posing significant threats to routing integrity and confidentiality. This paper proposes a technique to enhance the Ad hoc On-Demand Multi-path Distance Vector (AOMDV) routing protocol's security against black hole attacks. The method involves a time-based reply message analysis to identify and mitigate malicious nodes. This algorithm improves the protocol's ability to detect and prevent black hole attacks by closely analyzing response time differences between malicious and normal nodes. The results of the simulation show that the suggested solution greatly enhances network performance by lowering the Routing Overhead Ratio from 1388.04% to 0.73% and the Packet Loss Rate from 74% to 11% while keeping a high Packet Delivery Ratio—up to 93% in different scenarios. These enhancements sustain strong data transmission in dynamic MANET environments, supporting network integrity and reliability.

Applications that support multimedia data such as medical pictures and videos, video broadcasting, and secure video conferencing consume vast quantities of information that require large numbers of servers to provide services for the many client users who access them. Cloud-based sensitive data becomes increasingly important for the respective users to be kept confidential without infringing confidentiality, integrity, and availability. We propose a framework based on the OpenStack cloud-computing platform for multimedia data security. A prototype framework with a helper tool EncSwift is implemented, which allows stringent data access control and applying the data-at-rest Over-Encryption approach. The implementation is evaluated for computation of cryptography operations, cost of communications, and update policy consequences for the framework. With OpenStack Swift’s open source and modular design, our multimedia data management and management framework is well suited to protecting and managing clouds’ multimedia with low computational costs as shown in the experimental results. © 2023 IEEE.

The monitoring of complex industrial systems through the implementation of smart approaches provides unique opportunities, such as the characterisation of their real-time performance. Within this scope, there exists the need to support decision-making during maintenance processes, due to the presence of a multitude of faults in real-world systems and the difficulty of identifying the appropriate mitigating solutions. The proposed solution uses intelligent optimisation techniques to identify the ideal control solution within these complex systems when faults arise. This paper presents a framework based on an intelligent optimisation approach, which provides a workflow process for the support of decision-making during faulty situations. It is adapted and implemented to the demand-side of a Compressed Air System (CAS), thus providing a holistic approach in automating fault mitigation during real-time system operation. In implementing this framework, multiple intelligent optimisation techniques such as the Genetic Algorithm and the Particle Swarm Optimisation algorithms were adopted and implemented. Both algorithms were successful in providing the ideal control solution under fault conditions. For a typical production case study, the proposed optimisation approach results in a reduction of 40% in its air consumption, which directly improves its environmental performance and energy costs. This result demonstrates that this approach contributes a suitable control strategy for CAS when experiencing a pneumatic fault, which has a direct positive effect on the operational energy performance and costs.

LoRa technology contributes to green energy by enabling efficient,long-range communication for the Internet of Things(IoT).This paper addresses the challenges related to coverage range in outdoor monitoring systems utilizing LoRa,where the network performance is affected by the density of gateways(GWs)and end devices(EDs),as well as environmental *** mitigate interference,data throughput losses,and high-power consumption,the proposed spreading factor(SF)and hybrid(data rate|SF)models dynamically adjust the transmission *** orchestration of concurrent data modifications within the network server(NS)is crucial for uninterrupted communication between GWs and EDs,especially in monitoring electric vehicle(EV)stations to reduce traffic congestion and *** K-means and density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN)algorithms optimizes ED allocation,averts data congestion,and improves the signal-tointerference noise ratio(SINR).These methods ensure seamless information reception by meticulously allocated EDs across various GW *** estimate the free-space losses(FSL),a log-distance path loss model(log-PL)is *** various bandwidths(BWs),bidirectional communications,and duty cycles(DCs)helps to prevent saturation,thus prolonging the operational lifespan of *** findings reveal a notable packet rejection rate(PRR)of 0%for the DBSCAN(hybrid model).In contrast,the K-means exhibits a PRR ranging from 5%(hybrid model)to 35.29%(SF model)for the ten GWs ***,the network saturation is reduced to 10.185%and 9.503%,respectively,highlighting an improvement in the average efficiency of slotted ALOHA(91.1%)and pure ALOHA(90.7%).These enhancements increase the lifespan of EDs to 15,465.27 days.

Wheat is the most important cereal crop,and its low production incurs import pressure on the *** fulfills a significant portion of the daily energy requirements of the human *** wheat disease is one of the major factors that result in low production and negatively affects the national ***,timely detection of wheat diseases is necessary for improving *** CNN-based architectures showed tremendous achievement in the image-based classification and prediction of crop ***,these models are computationally expensive and need a large amount of training *** this research,a light weighted modified CNN architecture is proposed that uses eight layers particularly,three convolutional layers,three SoftMax layers,and two flattened layers,to detect wheat diseases *** high-resolution images were collected from the fields in Azad Kashmir(Pakistan)and manually annotated by three human *** convolutional layers use 16,32,and 64 *** filter uses a 3×3 kernel *** strides for all convolutional layers are set to *** this research,three different variants of datasets are *** variants S1-70%:15%:15%,S2-75%:15%:10%,and S3-80%:10%:10%(train:validation:test)are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed *** extensive experiments revealed that the S3 performed better than S1 and S2 datasets with 93%*** experiment also concludes that a more extensive training set with high-resolution images can detect wheat diseases more accurately.

Plant disease classification using machine learning in a real agricultural field environment is a difficult task. Often, an automated plant disease diagnosis method might fail to capture and interpret discriminatory information due to small variations among leaf sub-categories. Yet, modern Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have achieved decent success in discriminating various plant diseases using leave images. A few existing methods have applied additional pre-processing modules or sub-networks to tackle this challenge. Sometimes, the feature maps ignore partial information for holistic description by part-mining. A deep CNN that emphasizes integration of partial descriptiveness of leaf regions is proposed in this work. The efficacious attention mechanism is integrated with high-level feature map of a base CNN for enhancing feature representation. The proposed method focuses on important diseased areas in leaves, and employs an attention weighting scheme for utilizing useful neighborhood information. The proposed Attention-based network for Plant Disease Classification (APDC) method has achieved state-of-the-art performances on four public plant datasets containing visual/thermal images. The best top-1 accuracies attained by the proposed APDC are: PlantPathology 97.74%, PaddyCrop 99.62%, PaddyDoctor 99.65%, and PlantVillage 99.97%. Combinatorial test suite generation is a critical aspect of software testing, particularly for systems with variable-strength interactions. Traditional optimization algorithms often struggle to efficiently generate minimal test suites while maintaining coverage. This research introduces the Fuzzy Adaptive Sine Cosine Algorithm (FASCA), a variant of the Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA), tailored specifically for optimizing variable-strength combinatorial test suite generation. FASCA incorporates fuzzy adaptation mechanisms to dynamically balance exploration and exploitation, addressing the limitations of standard SCA in handling diverse interaction strengths. Experimental evaluations demonstrate that FASCA significantly reduces test suite size and execution time compared to the original SCA, offering a more efficient solution for combinatorial test optimization. These results highlight FASCA's potential as a robust tool for enhancing the efficiency of software testing processes. © 2024 IEEE.
