Phishing is one of the simplest ways in cybercrime to hack the reliable data of users such as passwords,account identifiers,bank details,*** general,these kinds of cyberattacks are made at users through phone calls,emails,or instant *** anti-phishing techniques,currently under use,aremainly based on source code features that need to scrape the webpage *** third party services,these techniques check the classification procedure of phishing Uniform Resource Locators(URLs).Even thoughMachine Learning(ML)techniques have been lately utilized in the identification of phishing,they still need to undergo feature engineering since the techniques are not well-versed in identifying phishing *** tremendous growth and evolution of Deep Learning(DL)techniques paved the way for increasing the accuracy of classification *** this background,the current research article presents a Hunger Search Optimization with Hybrid Deep Learning enabled Phishing Detection and Classification(HSOHDL-PDC)*** presented HSOHDL-PDC model focuses on effective recognition and classification of phishing based on website *** addition,SOHDL-PDC model uses character-level embedding instead of word-level embedding since the URLs generally utilize words with no ***,a hybrid Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short Term Memory(HCNN-LSTM)technique is also applied for identification and classification of *** hyperparameters involved in HCNN-LSTM model are optimized with the help of HSO algorithm which in turn produced improved *** performance of the proposed HSOHDL-PDC model was validated using different datasets and the outcomes confirmed the supremacy of the proposed model over other recent approaches.

Navigating Fairness: Practitioners’ Understanding, Challenges, and Strategies in AI/ML Development

The rise in the use of AI/ML applications across industries has sparked more discussions about the fairness of AI/ML in recent times. While prior research on the fairness of AI/ML exists, there is a lack of empirical studies focused on understanding the perspectives and experiences of AI practitioners in developing a fair AI/ML system. Understanding AI practitioners’ perspectives and experiences on the fairness of AI/ML systems is important because they are directly involved in its development and deployment and their insights can offer valuable real-world perspectives on the challenges associated with ensuring fairness in AI/ML systems. We conducted semi-structured interviews with 22 AI practitioners to investigate their understanding of what a ‘fair AI/ML’ is, the challenges they face in developing a fair AI/ML system, the consequences of developing an unfair AI/ML system, and the strategies they employ to ensure AI/ML system fairness. We developed a framework showcasing the relationship between AI practitioners’ understanding of ‘fair AI/ML’ system and (i) their challenges in its development, (ii) the consequences of developing an unfair AI/ML system, and (iii) strategies used to ensure AI/ML system fairness. By exploring AI practitioners’ perspectives and experiences, this study provides actionable insights to enhance AI/ML fairness, which may promote fairer systems, reduce bias, and foster public trust in AI technologies. Additionally, we also identify areas for further investigation and offer recommendations to aid AI practitioners and AI companies in navigating fairness. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

The rapid advancement in generated image annotations, also known as captions, puts a crucial need for efficient and automated methods for those annotations’ evaluation. State-of-art in the automatic evaluation metrics has proven to be inefficient for evaluating the quality of the generated annotations because they rely on certain aspects of word matching, such as the n-gram overlap. This paper presents a semantic-based graph representation and evaluation for generated image annotations. The semantic graph explicitly encodes objects, attributes, and natural language annotations relationships, while consulting ConceptNet as an external knowledge source to provide a rich semantic generated graph. For annotations evaluation, the ConceptNet is extended for use in a proposed semantic evaluation metric, whose input is the semantic graphs. Experimental results show that, over the Flickr8k dataset, the proposed graph-based evaluation metric achieves a higher system-level correlation and rank correlation coefficient value compared to existing related works. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In complex underwater environments, the image quality will be damaged due to light absorption, water quality and other factors, which brings certain challenges to the underwater object detection task. In order to improve the quality of under-water images, as well as the effectiveness of underwater detection tasks, we proposed a multi-reference mapping based image enhancement network (MRUIE). Previous image enhancement methods set only one reference image for the original image to be learned, ignoring the diversity of real underwater images. We optimized for the salient problems of underwater images by allowing the network to learn multiple reference images to capture the uncertainty of real underwater images. First, for the prominent problems of color distortion, contrast imbalance, and low brightness and darkness in underwater images, we designed three optimization paths to generate three reference images respectively. Then, the three reference images are fed into the feature extraction network to construct the statistical distribution of features and generate a series of potential enhancement distributions. Finally, based on the enhancement distributions, Monte Carlo likelihood estimation is used to determine the final enhancement results. Experiments conducted on two datasets demonstrate that our proposed image enhancement algorithm can effectively enhance the restoration of the original underwater images and provide significant performance improvement in underwater vision tasks.

A lot of metrics and tools have been devised to measure the complexity of software systems. Through measurement, software professionals can have a better understanding and control of a software's complexity. In this paper, we reviewed complexity metrics and tools for object-oriented systems. The existing tools measure either implemented systems which may be source code or compile binaries, or class diagrams. The tools that measure implemented systems already offer a wide variety of features to satisfy different needs. However, the tools that measure class diagrams are not only poor in amount, but all take in class diagram XMI files, with none of them taking in PlantUML class diagram source code. PlantUML is a popular text-based UML diagramming tool that enables users to define UML diagrams with a domain specific language then renders the diagram for them. Hence, we developed a web application that measures class diagram complexity via PlantUML class diagram source code. It measures five class metrics and seven system metrics visualized as tables and bar charts, with the results exportable to PDF and CSV. Our tool's measurements were also evaluated to be correct when it is within our scope of supported syntax. © 2023 IEEE.

One of the most important methods of predicting the future is through past events and data repeated over time, as time series are those data indexed using time sequentially on data points distributed according to time, and periodic time series analysis is the analysis of a series of recorded measurements of a phenomenon that are repeated more than once during specific times periods. Periodicity detection has an impact on many areas in the world, such as climate, motion, education et cetera. It is important to consider in solving problems, moreover, there are many data sets in the world, the most prominent of which is time series data, and this type of data is constantly increasing. In the study, several data periodicity analysis methods (such as autocorrelation, wavelet transform, DTW, RNN, LSTM) were inspected. © 2024 IEEE.

Skin cancer's increasing incidence rates necessitate advanced diagnostic tools. This research uses MobileNet architecture to develop an enhanced system for skin cancer detection. MobileNet's efficient CNN architecture, combined with Keras for model lifecycle management and TensorFlow for real-time inference, forms the foundation of this study. Using 10,015 dermatoscopic pictures from seven different classifications of skin cancer in the HAM10000 dataset, the methodology includes several key stages: image preprocessing to correct illumination and adjust resolution, data augmentation to balance the dataset, and model training using Transfer Learning. The MobileNet model was trained over 50 epochs with a comprehensive architecture incorporating multiple specialized layers. By combining large-scale data analysis and adaptive learning, this methodology demonstrates The revolutionary possibilities of AI and ML in improving skin cancer diagnostics and public health outcomes. Farmers all over the world struggle to fight plant diseases. However, the incorrect use of pesticides can waste time, effort, and money and can also be very harmful to the environment and human health. In this work, we present an empirical study that involves identifying two pathogens related to Cucumbers plant diseases: Powdery Mildew and Alternaria Cucumerina. The study aims to develop a computer-based solution based on deep learning and machine learning algorithms to detect these diseases. To achieve this, a dataset of hundreds of samples was collected from ordinary farms in Beqaa, an agricultural region 15 KM north of Amman, Jordan. Three machine learning models were created in this study using Support Vector Machines (SVM), Logistic Regression (LR), and Multi-layer perceptron algorithms. The constructed models were applied to the dataset after embedding the dataset images using the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) InceptionV3 pre-trained model. The model was tested and evaluated using cross-evaluation and F1-Score, CA, AUC, Precision, Recall, and Specificity, which all showed excellent results, particularly using the SVM algorithm. The constructed methods are intended to be deployed to farms in their field condition environments using a CCTV system that can capture images of plants during growth, which can help identify plant diseases at that right stage, which would save time, effort, and money and reduce the impact of wrong and overuse of pesticides on consumers and the environment. © 2024 IEEE.

Guiding a user’s hand along a 3D path can help individuals avoid obstacles and manipulate everyday items with eyes-free. While prior work focused on haptic approaches using robots, auditory approaches for 3D path guidance remain underexplored. We prototyped and assessed two auditory hand guidance techniques for 3D path tracing: (1) VERBAL repeating spoken directional prompts;(2) Follow-Your-Finger (FYF) using the user’s index finger in moving hand as an embodied reference and sonifying whether the user should follow the index finger direction. In a controlled pilot study with 12 sighted participants under an eyes-free condition, VERBAL yielded about 1.5 times faster performance than FYF, while FYF achieved an error rate of less than half VERBAL’s. We thus recommend using VERBAL for wider paths with fewer obstacles and FYF for narrower paths with higher collision risks. We also discuss the research direction for applying these findings to real-world tasks. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
