Additive manufacturing (AM) has revolutionized the manufacturing industry by enabling the fabrication of complex geometries and designs with ease. 3D printing—fused deposition modeling (FDM) has emerged as a prevalent technique, owing to its versatility and cost-effectiveness. However, the FDM process is complex and depends on multiple parameters, which makes it challenging to obtain high-quality and consistent 3D printed components. The purpose of this study is to simplify the printing process for users and potentially improve the overall quality and consistency of printed objects. This research delved into optimising 3D printing parameters, specifically raster orientation and in-fill speed, for PLA material through three experimental studies. The mean effect of these parameters and the effects of their interaction through analysis of variance (ANOVA) on tensile properties were also discussed. Initial experiments identified the most suitable parameters and its optimal values for PLA, which were then applied to five different materials: PETG, PLA tough, Recycle PLA, Plain PLA, and ABS. Tensile tests assessed the printed parts, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed to analyze fracture interfaces and material failure causes. This study identified a raster of 45°/−45° and 30 mm/s infill speed as optimal for diverse 3D printing materials. Notably, ABS, PETG, and tough PLA exhibited better tensile strengths, surpassing manufacturer benchmarks. However, Plain PLA and Recycled PLA, despite lower tensile strengths, proved valuable for specific applications. Interestingly, all tested materials showed greater flexibility than manufacturer recommendations, suggesting their suitability in scenarios needing both strength and flexibility. This study's results offer promising avenues for refining 3D printing practices, to the advantage of all users. Particles in the atmosphere, such as dust and smoke, can cause visual clarity problems in both images and videos. Haze is the result of the interaction between airborne particles and light, which is scattered and attenuated. Hazy media present difficulties in a variety of applications due to the reduced contrast and loss of essential information. In response, dehazing techniques have been introduced to bring hazy videos and images back to clarity. Here, we provide a novel technique for eliminating haze. It comprises preprocessing steps before dehazing. Preprocessing is applied to hazy images through homomorphic processing and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE). We present a dehazing technique referred to as the pre-trained Feature Fusion Attention Network (FFA-Net) that directly lets dehazed images be restored from hazy or preprocessed hazy inputs without requiring the determination of atmospheric factors, such as air light and transmission maps. The FFA-Net architecture incorporates a Feature Attention (FA) method to do this task. We assess the proposed technique in a variety of circumstances, including visible frames, Near-Infrared (NIR) frames, and real-world hazy images. Evaluation criteria like entropy, correlation, and Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) are used to compare the quality of dehazed frames or images to their hazy counterparts. Furthermore, histogram analysis and spectral entropy are adopted to determine the effectiveness of the proposed technique in comparison to existing dehazing techniques. Comparative results are presented for both real-world and simulated environments. The benefits of the proposed technique are demonstrated by a comparison of the results obtained from the standalone pre-trained FFA-Net and the proposed comprehensive methodology. Research on MapReduce Heuristic Multi Table Join Algorithm Based on Binary Optimization and Pancake Parallel Strategy

Background: With the development of technology, the data amount has increased signif-icantly. In data processing, the multi table query is the most frequent operation. Because the join keys cannot correspond one by one, there will be much redundant data transmission, resulting in a waste of network bandwidth. Objective: In order to solve the problems of network overhead and low efficiency, this paper pro-poses a heuristic multi table join optimization method. By sharing information, the unconnected tu-ples are eliminated so as to reduce the amount of data transmitting. This shortens response time and improves execution performance. Methods: Firstly, the join key information of one table is compressed by the algorithm to make the filtered information for sharing. Then, the concurrent execution is controlled according to the pancake parallel strategy. Finally, the selection strategy of multi table join order is proposed. Results/Discussion: The experiments show that the proposed algorithm can filter a large amount of useless data and improve query efficiency. At the same time, the proposed algorithm reduces a lot of network overhead, improves the algorithm performance, and better solves the problem of low efficiency of multi table join. Conclusion: This paper introduces the heuristic strategy to optimize the algorithm, so that it can perform the join tasks in parallel, which further improves the performance of multi table join. The algorithm creatively combines heuristic data filtering, which greatly improves the quality of data processing. The algorithm is worth popularizing and applying. © 2023 Bentham Science Publishers.

In the contemporary business landscape, software has evolved into a strategic asset crucial for organizations seeking sustainable competitive advantage. The imperative of ensuring software quality becomes evident as low-quality software systems pose formidable challenges to organizational performance. This study delves into the profound impact of three key dimensions of information system quality on organizational performance—information quality (IQ), quality of service (QoS), and software quality (SQ). Anchored in the DeLone and McLean information system (IS) success model, a quantitative questionnaire was administered to 360 industry experts and academics. Rigorous data analysis, employing exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation modeling (SEM), revealed significant positive effects of all three quality dimensions on organizational performance. Among these dimensions, software quality emerged as the most influential, showcasing substantial total effects, closely followed by information and service qualities. The study underscores the tangible value derived from strategic investments in enhancing software, information, and service quality. Elevating these facets manifests as a catalyst for improved organizational performance, empowering decision-makers with accurate and timely information while enhancing user satisfaction with the system. This research contributes significantly to the IS success literature by empirically validating the synergistic relationship between information quality, service quality, software quality, and organizational outcomes. The systematic analysis offered in this study goes beyond theoretical validation, providing actionable insights for managers. The findings guide the prioritization of quality initiatives and resource allocation, enabling organizations to maximize competitive advantage. Speech is a fundamental means of human interaction. Speaker Identification (SI) plays a crucial role in various applications, such as authentication systems, forensic investigation, and personal voice assistance. However, achieving robust and secure SI in both open and closed environments remains challenging. To address this issue, researchers have explored new techniques that enable computers to better understand and interact with humans. Smart systems leverage Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) to mimic the human brain in identifying speakers. However, speech signals often suffer from interference, leading to signal degradation. The performance of a Speaker Identification System (SIS) is influenced by various environmental factors, such as noise and reverberation in open and closed environments, respectively. This research paper is concerned with the investigation of SI using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) and polynomial coefficients, with an ANN serving as the classifier. To tackle the challenges posed by environmental interference, we propose a novel approach that depends on symmetric comb filters for modeling. In closed environments, we study the effect of reverberation on speech signals, as it occurs due to multiple reflections. To address this issue, we model the reverberation effect with comb filters. We explore different domains, including time, Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), and Discrete Sine Transform (DST) domains for feature extraction to determine the best combination for SI in case of reverberation environments. Simulation results reveal that DWT outperforms other transforms, leading to a recognition rate of 93.75% at a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 15 dB. Additionally, we investigate the concept of cancelable SI to ensure user privacy, while maintaining high recognition rates. Over the past few years, blockchain technology has gained significant attention. This surge in popularity can be attributed to the emergence of cryptocurrencies and the development of smart contracts. Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that eliminates the problem of double spending. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, Zcash, Maker, Aave, etc. become popular and are preferred for money transfers. Smart contracts are the next popular technology on the blockchain after cryptocurrency. It can be considered a piece of code that can execute automatically when the predefined conditions are fulfilled. Researchers believe that the potential of blockchain with smart contracts is only in its initial stages and that its true potential has yet to be fully discovered. Hence, an extensive bibliometric analysis is conducted to understand blockchain trends for smart contracts and to give future directions in this field. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are essential for various applications, but their architecture makes them vulnerable to attacks. While traditional security methods like authentication and encryption offer some protection, they often fall short against specific node attacks. This paper introduces the Secure Energy Aware Routing (SEAR) strategy, which uses trust-based assessments to exclude malicious nodes while optimizing energy consumption. SEAR factors in node trust, hop time, and residual energy to ensure reliable data transmission through trustworthy nodes. MATLAB simulations on networks of varying sizes (100-500) compare SEAR with existing methods (EAD and EASER), demonstrating SEAR's superior performance. Results show significant improvements in packet delivery ratio (13-16%), network throughput (19-24 %), energy consumption (32-36%), packet loss (16-190/0), and end-to-end latency (21-26%), proving SEAR's effectiveness in enhancing WSN security, energy efficiency, and performance. © 2024 IEEE.
