Wind power is one of the sustainable ways to generate renewable *** recent years,some countries have set renewables to meet future energy needs,with the primary goal of reducing emissions and promoting sustainable growth,primarily the use of wind and solar *** achieve the prediction of wind power generation,several deep and machine learning models are constructed in this article as base *** regression models are Deep neural network(DNN),k-nearest neighbor(KNN)regressor,long short-term memory(LSTM),averaging model,random forest(RF)regressor,bagging regressor,and gradient boosting(GB)*** addition,data cleaning and data preprocessing were performed to the *** dataset used in this study includes 4 features and 50530 *** accurately predict the wind power values,we propose in this paper a new optimization technique based on stochastic fractal search and particle swarm optimization(SFSPSO)to optimize the parameters of LSTM *** evaluation criteria were utilized to estimate the efficiency of the regression models,namely,mean absolute error(MAE),Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),coefficient of determination(R2),root mean squared error(RMSE).The experimental results illustrated that the proposed optimization of LSTM using SFS-PSO model achieved the best results with R2 equals 99.99%in predicting the wind power values.

Fast anomalous traffic detection system for secure vehicular communications

In modern automotive systems,introducing multiple connectivity protocols has transformed in-vehicle network communication,resulting in the widely recognized Controller Area Network(CAN)*** its ubiquitous use,the CAN protocol lacks critical security features,making vehicle communications vulnerable to message injection *** assaults might confuse original electronic control units(ECUs)or cause system failures,emphasizing the need for strong cybersecurity solutions in automobile *** study addresses this need by developing a quick and efficient abnormal traffic detection system to protect vehicular communications from cyber *** proposed system utilizes four machine learning techniques:Adaboost Trees(ABT),Coarse Decision Trees(CDT),Naive Bayes Classifier(NBC),and Support Vector Machine(SVM).These models were carefully assessed on the Car-Hacking-2018 dataset,which simulates real-time vehicular communication ***,the system considers five balanced classes,including one normal traffic class and four classes for message injection attacks over the in-vehicle controller area network:fuzzy attack,DoS attack,RPM attack(spoofing),and gear attack(spoofing).Our best performance outcomes belong to the ABT model,which notched 99.8%classification accuracy and 6.67µs of classification *** results have outweighed existing in-vehicle intrusion detection systems employing the same/similar dataset.

Lung cancer is the most lethal form of cancer. This paper introduces a novel framework to discern and classify pulmonary disorders such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and lung cancer by analyzing conventional X-ray and CT scan images called lung cancer risk prediction (LCRP) model. LCRP has four modules, namely data collection and preprocessing, data augmentation module, image segmentation module, and prediction module. Actually, LCRP employs three deep learning models;sequential model, functional model, and transfer model on publicly available training datasets. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have emerged as a highly effective field in machine learning, particularly for image datasets in the field of biomedical applications. The primary goal is to validate these models by comparing their performance with other models in order to determine their effectiveness in addressing challenging datasets. Our research has revealed a noteworthy enhancement in the efficiency of binary and multi-class classification using mask R-CNN image segmentation. During the model training process, a combination of Adam and stochastic gradient descent dual optimizers has been used to improve performance. LCRP have outperformed current pre-trained models by minimizing training parameters, computational costs, and overhead. It introduces 98.5% accuracy, 88.7% specificity, 89% sensitivity, 89.2% precision, and 89.09% F-measure. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

This paper developed a new model called Single Rule Random Forest (SrRF) that enhances the performance of the Fandom Forest technique(RF)and reduces its rules, then compared the performance of this model with a set of ML models as follows (DT, RF, GPT) of the datasets provided by the Tax Authority of Yemen which consists of 1083 records using two values for k in K-Fold Cross Validation). The results showed that by using the value k=10, the GPT Classifier gave the highest result of 100 % but this result will cause overfitting, then the SRI-RF Classifier gave the best result with 99.89%, while RF gave the worst result. By using the value k=5, the GPT Classifier also gave the highest result of 100 % but this result also caused overfitting, then the SrRF Classifier gave the best result, while RF gave the worst result. From the above, the researchers also note that training the data using K-fold cross-validation with the value K=10 gave better results. On the other side, our proposed model SRIRF with the value of k=10 gave the best result. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence(AI)is being increasingly used for diagnosing Vision-Threatening Diabetic Retinopathy(VTDR),which is a leading cause of visual impairment and blindness ***,previous automated VTDR detection methods have mainly relied on manual feature extraction and classification,leading to *** paper proposes a novel VTDR detection and classification model that combines different models through majority *** proposed methodology involves preprocessing,data augmentation,feature extraction,and classification *** use a hybrid convolutional neural network-singular value decomposition(CNN-SVD)model for feature extraction and selection and an improved SVM-RBF with a Decision Tree(DT)and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)for *** tested our model on the IDRiD dataset and achieved an accuracy of 98.06%,a sensitivity of 83.67%,and a specificity of 100%for DR detection and evaluation tests,*** proposed approach outperforms baseline techniques and provides a more robust and accurate method for VTDR detection.

Border Gateway Protocol(BGP)is a standard inter-domain routing protocol for the Internet that conveys network layer reachability information and establishes routes to different *** BGP protocol exhibits security design defects,such as an unconditional trust mechanism and the default acceptance of BGP route announcements from peers by BGP neighboring nodes,easily triggering prefix hijacking,path forgery,route leakage,and other BGP security ***,the traditional BGP security mechanism,relying on a public key infrastructure,faces issues like a single point of failure and a single point of *** decentralization,anti-tampering,and traceability advantages of blockchain offer new solution ideas for constructing secure and trusted inter-domain routing *** this paper,we summarize the characteristics of BGP protocol in detail,sort out the BGP security threats and their ***,we analyze the shortcomings of the traditional BGP security mechanism and comprehensively evaluate existing blockchain-based solutions to address the above problems and validate the reliability and effectiveness of blockchain-based BGP security methods in mitigating BGP security ***,we discuss the challenges posed by BGP security problems and outline prospects for future research.

Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning-Based Resource Sharing in Multi-UAV Wireless Networks

This paper investigates the resource sharing problem in a multi-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) wireless network by utilizing the multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) method. Specifically, the considered multi-UAV system involves two transmission modes, i.e., UAV-to-Device (U2D) mode and UAV-to-Network (U2N) mode, in which the U2D mode is allowed to reuse the spectrum of U2N mode to improve the spectrum efficiency. Then, we formulate an optimization problem to maximize the throughput of U2D links by jointly optimizing the channel allocation, power level selection, and UAV trajectory, while ensuring the communication quality of U2N links. Due to the highly complex and dynamic nature, as well as the challenging non-convex objective function and constraints, the resulting problem is hard to address. Accordingly, we propose a novel Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MADDPG)-based resource allocation and multi-UAV trajectory optimization policy. Simulation results illustrate the efficacy of our method in improving the system transmission rate. © 2019 IEEE.

Examining the impact of link failures and network performance on a 6to4, 6rd, CHANC and D4across6 tunneling-based networks using various routing protocols

The article discusses the importance of failure recovery in communication networks to ensure smooth and dependable service. It states that the performance of real-time applications has been negatively affected for years due to failed links, and thus it is crucial to address the issue to prevent collapse and cascading failures for both users and service providers. The paper then goes on to analyze the performance of a network by simulating the failure and recovery of network links for different time periods using the 6rd, CHANC, D4across6 and 6to4 tunneling network. Different routing protocols and tunneling techniques are employed to evaluate the performance of the network for the specific type of applications (i.e. video streaming and real-time voice). It also looks at different metrics, including data transfer rate, dropped traffic, and network convergence. Furthermore, the study delves into the examination of the route table properties of various routers and the IPv4 backbone when links between them experience repeated failures and recoveries. The purpose of this analysis is to anticipate network performance and to ensure network availability and accessibility of traffic through forecasting the network's ability to survive and recover from link failures. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

De-Noising Brain MRI Images by Mixing Concatenation and Residual Learning(MCR)

Brain magnetic resonance images(MRI)are used to diagnose the different diseases of the brain,such as swelling and tumor *** quality of the brain MR images is degraded by different noises,usually salt&pepper and Gaussian noises,which are added to the MR images during the acquisition *** the presence of these noises,medical experts are facing problems in diagnosing diseases from noisy brain MR ***,we have proposed a de-noising method by mixing concatenation,and residual deep learning techniques called the MCR de-noising *** proposed MCR method is to eliminate salt&pepper and gaussian noises as much as possible from the brain MRI *** MCR method has been trained and tested on the noise quantity levels 2%to 20%for both salt&pepper and gaussian *** experiments have been done on publically available brain MRI image datasets,which can easily be accessible in the experiments and result *** Structure Similarity Index Measure(SSIM)and Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR)calculate the similarity score between the denoised images by the proposed MCR method and the original clean ***,the Mean Squared Error(MSE)measures the error or difference between generated denoised and the original *** proposed MCR denoising method has a 0.9763 SSIM score,84.3182 PSNR,and 0.0004 MSE for salt&pepper noise;similarly,0.7402 SSIM score,72.7601 PSNR,and 0.0041 MSE for Gaussian noise at the highest level of 20%*** the end,we have compared the MCR method with the state-of-the-art de-noising filters such as median and wiener de-noising filters.

The rapid increase in vehicle traffic volume in modern societies has raised the need to develop innovative solutions to reduce traffic congestion and enhance traffic management *** advanced technology,such as Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS),enables improved traffic management,helps eliminate congestion,and supports a safer *** provides real-time information on vehicle traffic and transportation systems that can improve decision-making for road ***,ITS suffers from routing issues at the network layer when utilising Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks(VANETs).This is because each vehicle plays the role of a router in this network,which leads to a complex vehicle communication network,causing issues such as repeated link breakages between vehicles resulting from the mobility of the network and rapid topological *** may lead to loss or delay in packet transmissions;this weakness can be exploited in routing attacks,such as black-hole and gray-hole attacks,that threaten the availability of ITS *** this paper,a Blockchain-based smart contracts model is proposed to offer convenient and comprehensive security mechanisms,enhancing the trustworthiness between ***-Classification Blockchain-Based Contracts(SCBC)and Voting-Classification Blockchain-Based Contracts(VCBC)are utilised in the proposed *** results show that VCBC succeeds in attaining better results in PDR and TP performance even in the presence of Blackhole and Grayhole attacks.
