Kidney disease (KD) is a gradually increasing global health concern. It is a chronic illness linked to higher rates of morbidity and mortality, a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and numerous other illnesses, and expensive medical expenses. The machine learning (ML) models are applied for KD prediction with higher accuracy and precision. The KD dataset has uncertainty and vague information, so, we used the neutrosophic set (NS) to deal with vague and uncertainty information in the KD dataset. The KD dataset is converted into the N-KD dataset with three membership functions: truth, indeterminacy, and falsity. Three ML models are used in this study such as logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). These ML models are applied to the N-KD dataset. The results show the LR has higher accuracy and precision on the N-KD dataset than the original KD dataset. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

The increasing dependence on smartphones with advanced sensors has highlighted the imperative of precise transportation mode classification, pivotal for domains like health monitoring and urban planning. This research is motivated by the pressing demand to enhance transportation mode classification, leveraging the potential of smartphone sensors, notably the accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope. In response to this challenge, we present a novel automated classification model rooted in deep reinforcement learning. Our model stands out for its innovative approach of harnessing enhanced features through artificial neural networks (ANNs) and visualizing the classification task as a structured series of decision-making events. Our model adopts an improved differential evolution (DE) algorithm for initializing weights, coupled with a specialized agent-environment relationship. Every correct classification earns the agent a reward, with additional emphasis on the accurate categorization of less frequent modes through a distinct reward strategy. The Upper Confidence Bound (UCB) technique is used for action selection, promoting deep-seated knowledge, and minimizing reliance on chance. A notable innovation in our work is the introduction of a cluster-centric mutation operation within the DE algorithm. This operation strategically identifies optimal clusters in the current DE population and forges potential solutions using a pioneering update mechanism. When assessed on the extensive HTC dataset, which includes 8311 hours of data gathered from 224 participants over two years. Noteworthy results spotlight an accuracy of 0.88±0.03 and an F-measure of 0.87±0.02, underscoring the efficacy of our approach for large-scale transportation mode classification tasks. In recent years, web programming has increased to the extent where it is capable of rendering 3D objects on the web. Its rendering performance varied depending on where it ran and what library was used to render the objects. This study aims to investigate the rendering performance of several 3D renderer libraries that render 3D objects in an augmented reality application. WebGL is one of the APIs that uses the Javascript programming language to render 3D objects in web applications. To create augmented reality on the web, a JavaScript library called *** is needed, which allows developers to create augmented reality on the web without the need to use additional plugins. *** supports various types of augmented reality, i.e., bookmarks, images, and location-based types. It also allows developers to incorporate visual and audio effects into augmented reality. This study aims to investigate the rendering performance of WebGL raw shaders and GLSL shaders in an HTML-based augmented reality application. The results suggested that both WebGL and GLSL could render low-poly and medium-poly 3D objects well. However, according to the test, WebGL performance drops significantly when rendering high-polygon 3D objects. Nonetheless, the GLSL library could render the same high-poly 3D objects at a similar level with native library rendering performance. Thus, suggest GLSL shaders as the recommended library to render 3D objects on the web. © 2023 ACM.

In this digital era, attracting new students from outside the region to enter a college or university is difficult. This problem can be solved with good marketing and information dissemination techniques. Information is a type of data that has been processed and organized so that it has relevant meaning for the recipient. Useful information can be used to help make decisions, gain new knowledge, or solve problems. One medium for providing information is by using videos that can be uploaded to YouTube for dissemination. However, problems arise when the information depends on the point of view of the video content creator, who may not provide enough information sought by users in their videos. Virtual reality (VR) technology can be pursued as one of the solutions to overcome the lack of detail and control in videos for users to get the expected information. One of the technologies in VR that allows people to explore a three-dimensional virtual world on a web platform is the 360° WebVR technology. Since users have full control over what can be seen using WebVR, it is expected that this technology can assist users in getting deeper and detailed information related to their needs. This study aims to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of using YouTube videos and WebVR in distributing information and delivering detailed information to users. The results show that WebVR technology has the potential to provide greater control over more detailed information to users who use it, in contrast to traditional two-dimensional video playback technology. © 2023 ACM.

Smartphones have grown popular in the current digital era among people. Map-based applications are one of many that are used daily by people to acquire information about specific locations. Google Maps and Waze are two popular examples of map-based applications for travel and navigation, as they provide detailed information while the user navigates from one point to another. One of the most commonly used algorithms in map-based applications is the Dijkstra algorithm. Although the Dijkstra algorithm can determine the shortest route between two points, there is an issue when the selected route involves a large number of data points that need to be processed. The more data points involved, the longer it takes to do a route calculation in the Dijkstra algorithm. This can lead to a degradation in system performance, especially on smartphones with limited resources. To address this issue, the Douglas-Peucker algorithm is proposed as a solution to reduce the number of points involved in the calculation using the line simplification technique. Line simplification means reducing unnecessary points that are considered unimportant. This study suggested that integrating the Douglas-Peucker line simplification technique before Dijkstra could improve the system performance more than the system without integrating line simplification in terms of reducing both memory usage and the time required to compute the solution. © 2023 ACM.

Sleep quality prediction in Internet of Things (IoT) involves leveraging a system of interrelated devices to gather as well as analyse related data. Smart devices like wearable devices or smart mattresses endlessly monitor many parameters such as body movement, heart rate, and environmental situations in bedroom. Real-time recommendations and feedback transported to consumers, allowing them to create informed lifestyle changes for superior sleep hygiene. As IoT ecosystem continues to develop, a combination of various data streams as well as classy analytics holds assurance for further refining sleep quality forecasts and improving overall well-being. The article designs a Bald Eagle Search Algorithm with Hierarchical Deep Learning for Internet of Things Assisted Sleep Quality Recognition (BESHDL-SQP) technique. The purpose of the BESHDL-SQP technique is to recognize and classify the quality of the sleep level in the IoT environment. In the presented BESHDL-SQP technique, the preliminary stage of data pre-processing using min–max normalization involved to normalize the input data. For predicting sleep quality, hierarchical long short-term memory (LSTM) technique exploited. Lastly, BES model utilized for optimal hyperparameter selection of LSTM method which helps in attaining enhanced results. To validate better performance of BESHDL-SQP technique, a huge range of simulation analysis is carried out. Big data has emerged very fast, and this has brought both opportunities and problems that are related to the application of deep learning. This paper explores how deep learning can be implemented using big data and in particular the Apache Mahout library. Unlike most other machine learning tools, Mahout can perform distributed computation, especially while using the MapReduce frameworks including Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark. However, this study does not only focus on the explanation of the need for Mahout's integration and employment but also carries out a high-fidelity argument on how deep learning algorithms can be incorporated in the Mahout framework to optimize the manipulation of large and complicated datasets. Mahout-based contributions include the comparative analysis of key deep learning paradigms including distributed processing, parallel processing and transfer learning. This paper also includes examples of the Mahout deep learning integration use and its application in real contexts. This article describes the challenges that currently organizations face in handling big data and indeed, the potential threats these challenges pose to the success of deep learning techniques when used in organizations' big data processing and analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

The Google Play platform boasts a total of 2,597,819 applications. A pivotal gauge of an application's success rests on its practical utility in daily life, coupled with its demonstrated strong performance metrics. There are several performance metrics to evaluate the performance of an application, such as RAM usage, CPU utilization, and their impact on battery life. Additionally, it is crucial to consider the User Interface (UI) factor, which serves as the primary connection between users and applications. Beyond its role as a bridge between users and applications, the UI can also significantly affect the performance of an application, as rendering a UI often takes a considerable amount of time. Various approaches can be employed to enhance the rendering time of a UI, one of which involves the use of design patterns like Model-View-Controller (MVC) and Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM), which effectively separate the business logic from the UI layer. This research study compares the performance of these two design patterns in the context of UI rendering time. The findings of this study confirm that MVVM outperforms MVC significantly in rendering UI components more rapidly. This superiority is attributed to MVVM's inherent ability to isolate business logic, ultimately reducing rendering delays. Furthermore, MVVM's prominent data binding feature further strengthens its efficiency in terms of UI rendering time. © 2023 ACM.

Static Analysis Techniques for Fixing Software Defects in MPI-Based Parallel Programs

The Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a widely accepted standard for parallel computing on distributed ***, MPI implementations can contain defects that impact the reliability and performance of parallelapplications. Detecting and correcting these defects is crucial, yet there is a lack of published models specificallydesigned for correctingMPI defects. To address this, we propose a model for detecting and correcting MPI defects(DC_MPI), which aims to detect and correct defects in various types of MPI communication, including blockingpoint-to-point (BPTP), nonblocking point-to-point (NBPTP), and collective communication (CC). The defectsaddressed by the DC_MPI model include illegal MPI calls, deadlocks (DL), race conditions (RC), and messagemismatches (MM). To assess the effectiveness of the DC_MPI model, we performed experiments on a datasetconsisting of 40 MPI codes. The results indicate that the model achieved a detection rate of 37 out of 40 codes,resulting in an overall detection accuracy of 92.5%. Additionally, the execution duration of the DC_MPI modelranged from 0.81 to 1.36 s. These findings show that the DC_MPI model is useful in detecting and correctingdefects in MPI implementations, thereby enhancing the reliability and performance of parallel applications. TheDC_MPImodel fills an important research gap and provides a valuable tool for improving the quality ofMPI-basedparallel computing systems.

This study applies single-valued neutrosophic sets, which extend the frameworks of fuzzy and intuitionistic fuzzy sets, to graph theory.
