With the rapid development of the next-generation mobile network,the number of terminal devices and applications is growing ***,how to obtain a higher data rate,wider network coverage and higher resource utilization in the limited spectrum resources has become the common research goal of ***-to-Device(D2D)communication technology and other frontier communication technologies have ***-to-Device communication technology is the technology that devices in proximity can communicate directly in cellular *** has become one of the key technologies of the fifth-generation mobile communications system(5G).D2D communication technology which is introduced into cellular networks can effectively improve spectrum utilization,enhance network coverage,reduce transmission delay and improve system throughput,but it would also bring complicated and various interferences due to reusing cellular resources at the same *** resource management is one of the most challenging and importing issues to give full play to the advantages of D2D *** resource allocation is an important factor that needs to be addressed in D2D ***,this paper proposes an optimization method based on the game-matching *** main idea is to model the optimization problem of the quality-of-experience based on user fairness and solve it through game-matching *** results show that the proposed algorithm effectively improved the resource allocation and utilization as compared with existing algorithms.

Empirical Literature on Economic Growth, 1991–2020: Uncovering Extant Gaps and Avenues for Future Research

The factors required to achieve sustainable economic growth in a country are debated for decades, and empirical research in this regard continues to grow. Given the relevance of the topic and the absence of a comprehensive, systematic literature review, we used bibliometric techniques to examine and document several aspects in the empirical literature related to growth, from 1991 to 2020. Five main results are worth highlighting: (a) the share of empirical articles on economic growth show a clear upward trend;(b) among all the groups of countries considered, the emerging economies (EEs) have received the most scientific attention;(c) the economic growth processes of the Latin American and Caribbean EEs have observed negligible scientific attention;(d) the very long-run studies comprise a residual share among the empirical literature on growth;(e) the extant empirical studies on economic growth have addressed mainly the impact of “macroeconomic conditions.” Our findings suggest there is a need to redirect the empirical growth agenda, so as to encourage more scientific attention devoted to the analysis of key determinants of economic growth in the very long run. There should also be increased scrutiny of the processes of economic growth in Latin American and Caribbean EEs © 2021 Emerging Markets Forum, Washington DC.

Factored Task and Motion Planning with Combined Optimization, Sampling and Learning

Modern robots excel at performing simple and repetitive tasks in controlled environments;however, future applications, such as robotic construction and assistance, will require long-term planning of physical interactions. These problems can be formulated as Task and Motion Planning (TAMP). The goal is to find how the robot should move to solve complex tasks requiring multiple interactions with objects in the environment, such as building furniture or cleaning and organizing the kitchen. However, TAMP is notoriously difficult to solve because it involves a tight combination of task planning and motion planning, considering geometric and physical constraints. In this thesis, we aim to improve the performance of TAMP algorithms from three complementary perspectives. First, we investigate the integration of discrete task planning with continuous trajectory optimization. Our main contribution is a conflict-based solver that automatically discovers why a task plan might fail when considering the constraints of the physical world. This information is then fed back into the task planner, resulting in an efficient, bidirectional, and intuitive interface between task and motion, capable of solving TAMP problems with multiple objects, robots, and tight physical constraints. Traditionally, there have been two competing approaches to solving TAMP problems: sample-based and optimization-based methods. In the second part, we first illustrate that, given the wide range of tasks and environments within TAMP, neither sampling nor optimization is superior in all settings. To combine the strengths of both approaches, we have designed meta-solvers for TAMP, adaptive solvers that automatically select which algorithms and computations to use and how to best decompose each problem to find a solution faster. A third promising direction to improve TAMP algorithms is to learn from previous solutions to similar problems. In the third part, we combine deep learning architectures with model-base

Those interested in artificial intelligence technologies, especially supervised and unsupervised learning in education, know they need considerable data for well-modeled training and high-quality accuracy. However, data access is not easy as it drains time and effort. So, in this paper, we will talk about the impact of artificial intelligence on education in general and how it will affect teachers' role in the future. We will also create an algorithm that will integrate several algorithms sequentially that will add value to this paper and contribute significantly to solving most of the problems that exist in education. Since the reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm is based on trial and error during training, it stores all the good events done in a considerable buffer. Once the RL model is ready, we will collect enough data to be used to train one of the algorithms mentioned earlier (supervised learning and unsupervised learning). © 2024 IEEE.

Face recognition applications have grown in parallel with the size of datasets, complexity of deep learning models and computational power. However, while deep learning models evolve to become more capable and computational power keeps increasing, the datasets available are being retracted and removed from public access. Privacy and ethical concerns are relevant topics within these domains. Through generative artificial intelligence, researchers have put efforts into the development of completely synthetic datasets that can be used to train face recognition systems. Nonetheless, the recent advances have not been sufficient to achieve performance comparable to the state-of-the-art models trained on real data. To study the drift between the performance of models trained on real and synthetic datasets, we leverage a massive attribute classifier (MAC) to create annotations for four datasets: two real and two synthetic. From these annotations, we conduct studies on the distribution of each attribute within all four datasets. Additionally, we further inspect the differences between real and synthetic datasets on the attribute set. When comparing through the Kullback-Leibler divergence we have found differences between real and synthetic samples. Interestingly enough, we have verified that while real samples suffice to explain the synthetic distribution, the opposite could not be further from being true.

Rainfall plays a significant role in managing the water level in the *** unpredictable amount of rainfall due to the climate change can cause either overflow or dry in the *** individuals,especially those in the agricultural sector,rely on rain *** rainfall is challenging because of the changing nature of the *** area of Jimma in southwest Oromia,Ethiopia is the subject of this research,which aims to develop a rainfall forecasting *** estimate Jimma's daily rainfall,we propose a novel approach based on optimizing the parameters of long short-term memory(LSTM)using Al-Biruni earth radius(BER)optimization algorithm for boosting the fore-casting accuracy.N ash-Sutcliffe model eficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),root MSE(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R2 were all used in the conducted experiments to assess the proposed approach,with final scores of(0.61),(430.81),(19.12),and(11.09),***,we compared the proposed model to current machine-learning regression models;such as non-optimized LSTM,bidirectional LSTM(BiLSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM).It was found that the proposed approach achieved the lowest RMSE of(19.12).In addition,the experimental results show that the proposed model has R-with a value outperforming the other models,which confirms the superiority of the proposed *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance and stability of the proposed approach and the recorded results proved the expected perfomance.

Fairness Under Cover: Evaluating the Impact of Occlusions on Demographic Bias in Facial Recognition

This study investigates the effects of occlusions on the fairness of face recognition systems, particularly focusing on demographic biases. Using the Racial Faces in the Wild (RFW) dataset and synthetically added realistic occlusions, we evaluate their effect on the performance of face recognition models trained on the BUPT-Balanced and BUPT-GlobalFace datasets. We note increases in the dispersion of FMR, FNMR, and accuracy alongside decreases in fairness according to Equilized Odds, Demographic Parity, STD of Accuracy, and Fairness Discrepancy Rate. Additionally, we utilize a pixel attribution method to understand the importance of occlusions in model predictions, proposing a new metric, Face Occlusion Impact Ratio (FOIR), that quantifies the extent to which occlusions affect model performance across different demographic groups. Our results indicate that occlusions exacerbate existing demographic biases, with models placing higher importance on occlusions in an unequal fashion, particularly affecting African individuals more severely. Such an analysis of different machine learning methods for predicting the achievement levels of students in Portuguese secondary education makes this essay. The research highlights the importance of accurate expectations of learners' results for education system administrations and respective policymakers. The current study makes use of the 'Student Performance in Portuguese Secondary education' dataset and employs machine learning algorithms, namely MLPRegressor, XGBoost, DecisionTreeRegressor, CatBoost, and KNeighborsRe-gressor, to the corpus. Performance metrics such as mean squared error (MSE), root mean squared error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), etc., are used to judge every model's performance. The conclusion that can be drawn from the data is that the MLPRegressor model leads among the competitors, having an MSE equivalent of 0.0103, which is superior to others. The findings of this study are of great significance for educational institutions and policymakers as they work to make appropriate contact with students' performance prediction. © 2024 IEEE.
