Ischemic heart disease(IHD)is one of the leading causes of death ***,different geographic regions show different variations of the risk factors of this disease based on the different lifestyles of *** study examines the current IHD condition in southern Bangladesh,a Southeast Asian middle-income *** main approach to this research is an Al-based proposal of a reduced set of the greatest impact clinical traits that may cause *** approach attempts to reduce IHD morbidity and mortality by early detection of risk factors using the reduced set of clinical ***,diagnostic,and symptomatic features were considered for analysing this clinical *** pre-processing utilizes several machine learning techniques to select significant features and make meaningful interpretations.A proposed voting mechanism ranked the selected 138 features by their impact *** this regard,diverse patterns in correlations with variables,including age,sex,career,family history,obesity,etc.,were calculated and explained in terms of voting *** the 138 risk factors,three labels were categorized:high-risk,medium-risk,and low-risk features;19 features were regarded as high,25 were medium,and 94 were considered low impactful *** research's technological methodology and practical goals provide an innovative and resilient framework for addressing IHD,especially in less developed cities and townships of Bangladesh,where the general population's socioeconomic conditions are often *** data collection,pre-processing,and use of this study's complete and comprehensive IHD patient dataset is another innovative *** believe that other relevant research initiatives will benefit from this work.

There has been a sharp rise in the number of fatalities and injuries caused by traffic accidents in urban areas. Cities often have video and image resources that can be analyzed manually using operators to address this problem. This paper introduces an automated collision detection system that utilizes publicly available images captured by Toronto's traffic camera system. The system is based on a Deep Learning model, specifically a DenseNet-161, employed to classify accidents and non-accidents. The results of this classification are then displayed on a graphical user interface. The primary aim of this study is to reduce medical response time and ultimately save lives by issuing automatic alerts. The proposed system has the potential to minimize the severity of accidents and decrease the number of fatalities by notifying emergency services once an accident is detected. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, a variety of new frameworks streamlining the process of agent-based modeling has emerged. These frameworks serve different purposes and each offers a unique set of features. In this practical comparative study, we evaluate the performance of various ABM frameworks through a series of benchmark simulations. By comparing the distinct functionalities offered by these tools, we aim to assist in the selection of an appropriate ABM toolkit for developing system models. In this paper, we present a novel contribution to the problem of the detection of potential anomalous cosmic rays particle tracks acquired by Earth-scale complex distributed observatory infrastructure. Detection of such signals provides an opportunity to analyze the performance of the entire research infrastructure of a complex system (for example, potential failures) and a chance to record unknown physical phenomena that can be recorded simultaneously with space radiation observations. The observatory comprises a worldwide network of CMOS detectors cooperating in the citizen science paradigm. We propose, evaluate, and compare several data processing, feature extractions, and potential anomaly discovery pipelines based on machine learning approaches. Although, to date, there have already been published works performing detection and analysis of anomalies in the Cosmic Ray Extremely Distributed Observatory Project (CREDO) dataset, they applied single methods without comparing the results with other possible approaches to analyze potential anomalies. In this work, for the first time, we have used and discussed many anomalous discovery approaches not previously applied to this issue to perform analysis of this extensive dataset (nearly 600,000 images). For this reason, the results published here are of significant cognitive importance to the problem under consideration. This pilot study focuses on employment of hybrid LMS-ICA system for in-vehicle background noise *** vehicles are nowadays increasingly supporting voice commands,which are one of the pillars of autonomous and SMART *** speaker recognition for context-aware in-vehicle applications is limited to a certain extent by in-vehicle back-ground *** article presents the new concept of a hybrid system which is implemented as a virtual *** highly modular concept of the virtual car used in combination with real recordings of various driving scenarios enables effective testing of the investigated methods of in-vehicle background noise *** study also presents a unique concept of an adaptive system using intelligent clusters of distributed next generation 5G data networks,which allows the exchange of interference information and/or optimal hybrid algorithm settings between individual *** average,the unfiltered voice commands were successfully recognized in 29.34%of all scenarios,while the LMS reached up to 71.81%,and LMS-ICA hybrid improved the performance further to 73.03%.

This article presents a description of research that has led to the development of a new design permanent magnet machine. The machine is based on the operational principle of the transverse-flux machine (TFM). In the proposed solution, a core commonly used in radial flux machines was employed, significantly simplifying the construction of the TFM machine. This simultaneously reduces flux leakage and enhances the value of the developed electromagnetic torque. The article sequentially outlines the stages of research on the new design, ranging from analytical calculations through Finite Element Method (FEM) simulation to the construction of a machine prototype. © 2024 IEEE.

Assessing microsatellite stability status of a patient’s colorectal cancer is crucial in personalizing treatment regime. Recently, convolutional-neural-networks (CNN) combined with transfer-learning approaches were proposed to circumvent traditional laboratory testing for determining microsatellite status from hematoxylin and eosin stained biopsy whole slide images (WSI). However, the high resolution of WSI practically prevent direct classification of the entire WSI. Current approaches bypass the WSI high resolution by first classifying small patches extracted from the WSI, and then aggregating patch-level classification logits to deduce the patient-level status. Such approaches limit the capacity to capture important information which resides at the high resolution WSI data. We introduce an effective approach to leverage WSI high resolution information by momentum contrastive learning of patch embeddings along with training a patient-level classifier on groups of those embeddings. Our approach achieves up to 7.4% better accuracy compared to the straightforward patch-level classification and patient level aggregation approach with a higher stability (AUC, 0.91 ± 0.01 vs. 0.85 ± 0.04, p-value © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Falls are a serious problem in the hospital setting and home environments. However, this problem does not only affect the elderly, but also people who have had surgery, have disabling problems, have associated diagnoses (such as poor eyesight, confusion, etc.) or are dizzy or have walking aids. The aim of research was to find, compare and implement fall detectors especially for the hospital environment. This paper summarizes possible fall detectors. Various technological solutions were selected for testing, including wearable technologies as well as contactless technologies based on PIR detectors and mmWave technologies. The selected fall detectors were tested in living laboratory of *** and then in Hospital AGEL Třinec - Podlesí. The best result of the testing was the use of two Vayyar Home Care devices in one room, thus achieving a detection accuracy of 92.50 % and a sensitivity of 92.50 %. © 2023 IOS Press. Smartphone authentication typically relies on user input of passwords or biometric features such as facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, or iris recognition. However, these methods only authenticate the user at specific points in time, meaning that once the password is compromised or the device is unlocked, unauthorized individuals can access all information on the device or perform unauthorized actions. To resolve this issue, continuous authentication has emerged, continuously verifying the user’s identity by covertly monitoring the ongoing interactions between the user and the device. This paper proposes a continuous authentication method that utilizes smartphone sensor data to extract users’ deep behavioral features through Siamese Convolutional Neural Networks (Siamese CNN). These features are then input into the Isolation Forest (iForest) algorithm for classification. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can authenticate the user within one second, achieving an average accuracy of 93.79% and an average Equal Error Rate (EER) of 8.37%, significantly outperforming other comparative methods used in this study. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) emerged as an innovative and patient-centric approach for non-invasive and painless examination of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It serves as a pivotal tool in helping medical practitioners in the early detection of anomalies within the intricate domain of the human GI tract. The automated identification of aberrations assumes paramount significance, contributing not only to temporal efficiency but also to timely diagnosis. Within the realm of academic literature, a plethora of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies have been proposed to effectuate the automatic classification, segmentation, and synthesis of anomalies inherent in WCE images. This scholarly endeavor undertakes a comprehensive and meticulous survey, elucidating the spectrum of anomaly classification, summarization, and detection techniques harnessed for computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) in the context of WCE images. The survey begins by delineating the methodologies underpinning WCE image classification and video processing. Subsequently, an exhaustive evaluation of techniques for analyzing WCE images is furnished, accompanied by an in-depth exploration of pertinent surveys, in addition to a judicious assessment of their merits and demerits. Furthermore, this study undertakes a rigorous evaluation of prevailing datasets utilized to benchmark the efficacy of various WCE techniques. In summary, this survey serves as a vanguard, delineating promising avenues for future investigations in the realm of WCE image analysis models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.
