The role of learning media greatly supports the learning process, increasing motivation and interest in the process. Learning media can also be a place to improve competence optimally through bootcamp training menus and the like with more specific training objectives. The main objective of this study is to develop a gamification-based website to enhance students' preparedness for their Final Competency Test by tackling challenges in comprehending programming absent practical experience. The learning method implemented in this website is case-based learning that integrates dynamic coding activities. The research method uses the Plomp approach with 3 main stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment stage. The trial of the gamification website began with media and content validation followed by small group testing and large group testing. Validation by media and material experts led to the execution of small group trials (95.7%) and large group trials (91.7%), producing exceptionally positive outcomes. The results of the small group test with 12 respondents produced a very suitable value with a score of 95.7 and the large group test with 27 respondents produced a score of 9 1. 7 % with very suitable criteria. This indicates that the web-based platform is highly viable for assisting vocational students in acquiring software development skills, enhancing their preparedness for practical IT positions such as software developers and system analysts. Subsequent study involved the incorporation of gamification, such as computer-supported collaborative learning. © 2024 IEEE.

Since a curricular concept oriented towards the formation of competences is very topical, the informational and educational technologies are characterized as a transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary field, which provides tools for the elaboration of educational applications, which can eventually be implemented in technical disciplines. Since both teachers and students often see only a part of the TIC (Information and communication Technologies) possibilities, we believe it is necessary to research and bring to the attention of the pedagogical opinion the formative valences of modern technologies, which are no longer just an element of impact, but tend to already become everyday tools with perspective in the formation of transversal competences in most technical disciplines. In the context of formative-productive education, in this paper, we are concerned with the study of engineering disciplines through traditional strategies and methods, the formation of positive attitudes of students towards the immanent values of engineering and their correlation with the techniques and strategies for the development of informational and communication skills. Thus, there is a need to use the computer as a tool for learning, taking into account the fact that it is precisely this type of study that is of great value from a functional point of view. Specifically, the aim of this research is to define the methodological configuration of the development of educational software (SE) in the modern educational system through the prism of the transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary character of informatics and TIC, on the example of the discipline Initiation in research in the University of Pitesti, through the act of implementing software products, profiling the contribution on the formation of transversal competences to the aforementioned discipline. © 2023 IEEE.

This work investigates the performance of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided Internet of Things (IoT) communications under imperfect channel state information (CSI). We formulate a multiobjective optimization problem (MOOP) to design a transmit precoding vector (TPV) at the base station (BS) and phase shift matrix (PSM) at the RIS that jointly maximizes energy efficiency (EE) and harvested power (HP) under the norm-bounded CSI error model. Due to the conflicting objective functions and nonconvex nature of the above optimization problem, the MOOP is simplified using the ϵ-constraint method and subsequently adopting advanced optimization tools, such as the Dinkelbach method, S-procedure, general sign-definiteness, semidefinite programming and convex-concave procedure. Thereafter, we propose an alternating optimization-based algorithm which determines optimal TPV and PSM iteratively that jointly maximizes the EE and HP of the considered system. Through numerical simulations, we validate the robustness, optimality, convergence, accuracy, and effectiveness of our proposed algorithm. Furthermore, we assess the impact of several key parameters, such as the number of RIS elements, available transmit power at BS, and the minimum HP on the performance of the considered system. © 2014 IEEE.

Color printing technology has made it simpler for forgers to make and copy large numbers of fake currency. The production of legible banknotes was once the sole purview of print shops, but today even a novice printer with a simple laser printer can do the job. Because of this, the prevalence of counterfeit money has increased dramatically. A number of problems, including corruption and the existence of 'black money,' have hounded India for a long time. There is also a serious problem with the circulation of counterfeit currency. The outcome is a system that can detect fake currency with greater speed and precision. It is a serious crime to create counterfeit currency, which is money that has not been authorized by the government. The vast majority of them do this professionally. The circulation of counterfeit currency retards economic development and devalues legitimate currency. In this study, it uses image processing to the problem of identifying fake Indian notes. This technique finishes the initial acquisition before the image is processed further. Pre-processing includes actions such as cropping, smoothing, and modifying the image;converting the image to greyscale;applying image segmentation;extracting features;and resizing the image. The model is then trained using an ELM. Proposed model exceeds both the CNN and SVM models in terms of accuracy, at around 97.8 percent. © 2023 IEEE.

Presently, C programming is essential for information technology (IT) students to study programming languages, algorithms, and computer architecture. It has been taught as a basic programming language in many universities. Due to the limited lecture time, coding rules to make readable codes are rarely educated, although they are essential in improving programming abilities of students. In this paper, we implement a coding rule checking function for C programming study of novice students. It helps a teacher to check the correctness of the names of variables and functions and the coding styles in the source codes submitted by the students and to give feedback to them. As preliminary evaluation, we verify the correctness of the implemented function through testing 109 source codes from one student. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, we address the critical aspect of hardware ageing effects in reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), whereby the problem of extending the RIS's life cycle under the impact of non-residual stochastic hardware impairment is considered. Through the replication of the RIS hardware and diverse wireless environments within a statistical simulation environment, we formulate an electronic maintenance framework (EMF) for RIS, where we incorporate non-residual impairments through stochastic modeling and determine the electronic reliability of the system. Accordingly, we derive optimal analytical solutions within the EMF to determine whether systematic maintenance of the RIS hardware should be done immediately or postponed in order to extend the expected life cycle of the RIS system. Furthermore, for the scenario with imperfect maintenance of the RIS-aided system, a reliable communication framework (RCF) is also introduced with residual impairments to assess the error probability of the RIS-aided communication. The RCF is established by deriving the distribution of the received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio in the presence of residual hardware impairment arising due to imperfect maintenance of the RIS system. Extensive numerical examples are provided to elucidate the derived solutions and illustrate the reliability performance of the proposed framework under hardware impairments. © 2020 IEEE.

With the growing sophistication of cyberattacks, traditional intrusion detection systems (IDS) are often inadequate. This research addresses these shortcomings by leveraging deep learning techniques to enhance the detection of network intrusions. Previous studies have either retained unnecessary features, leading to biased results, or overly simplified feature sets, resulting in low accuracy. This study systematically refines feature selection and employs advanced deep learning models to improve detection performance. The result is a robust IDS that mitigates bias and enhances accuracy, offering a significant improvement over existing methods. Our findings provide valuable insights into the effective application of machine learning for network security.

The motto behind the keenness of urban areas has become unmistakable in current cities because of the rise of installed and associated shrewd gadgets, frameworks, and innovations. It is possible to connect every object to the Internet. As a result, in the impending Internet of Things era, the 'Internet of Vehicles-IoV' will play a critical role in newly developed dazzling urban communities. The IoV can possibly address different traffic and street wellbeing issues successfully to forestall deadly crashes. In any case, a specific test of IoV, particularly in 'Vehicle-to-Vehicle' as well as 'Vehicle-to-Infrastructure' communications, guarantees quick, in order to transmit securely and exact performance of the information. The above effort is modifying Blockchain innovation for continuous application called RTA to meet 'Vehicle-to-Every thing-V2x' communications problems in order to overcome these challenges. As a result, the main goal of the study is to develop a Blockchain-based IoT framework for establishing communication security and creating a completely decentralized computing platform. Research methodology used here is divided into two major sections. In the part 1 presented below, authors discuss the traceability and optimization over Merkle trees. The second section deals with implementing an actual blockchain with our optimized Merkle tree as the underlying technology to represent a distributed trust based ledger. © 2022 IEEE.

In this study, we investigate the secrecy performance of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces-assisted satellite (RISAS) networks. Specifically, we analytically derive closed-form expressions of the secrecy outage probability (SOP) and the tight lower bound secrecy rate (SR) exploiting the moment matching method (MMM). Furthermore, we explore the asymptotic behavior of the SOP as the satellite transmit power is sufficiently large, offering valuable insights into network performance. Numerical simulations are conducted to validate the established framework and elucidate the influence of critical parameters such as transmission distance, transmit power, and the number of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) elements on SOP and SR. Our findings highlight the efficacy of increasing the number of phase shifters of the RIS to mitigate the adverse effects of fading, shadowing, and transmission environments. Finally, we unveil the adaptability of the proposed networks, illustrating their suitability for various satellite systems, including low earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary earth orbit (GEO). Among these, LEO offers superior performance due to its shorter transmission distance compared to medium earth orbit (MEO) and GEO. © 1965-2011 IEEE.
