Design and fabrication of photovoltaics based on MFS (Ag/BaTiO3/silicon p-type) structure

The experiment was carried out by growing BaTiO3 (Undoped or Li-doped) on p-type Si(1 0 0) substrates using the Chemical Solution Deposition (CSD) method and spin coating at a rotational speed of 3000 rpm for 60 s, followed by heating at 850 °C. The characterization results show that the bandgap energy value of the thin film due to lithium doping reduces the bandgap energy value. This is presumably because the donor atom added to a semiconductor causes the allowable energy level to be slightly below the conduction band. The presence of this new band causes the thin film bandgap energy to decrease with a five-valent tantalum dip. The morphological properties showed that the BaTiO3/Si(1 0 0) thin film particles in the deposited lithium had a fairly homogeneous grain. With the addition of lithium acetate as a binder into barium titanate, the grain size is getting smaller because it is suspected that the lithium-ion radius is smaller than the barium-ion radius. Measurement of I-V on the thin film shows that the output voltage value increases with more light intensity hitting the surface of the thin film. The greater the light intensity, the greater the energy of the photons, so the electrons are easier to jump. The three things above (both electrical and morphological properties) conclude that the thin films grown have the potential for photovoltaics. © 2023

A new rectifier with high efficiency and low harmonic conversion loss is proposed in this paper. The rectifier is designed to apply in 2.45GHz. At the high input power stage, the rectifier achieves a maximum rectification efficiency of 75% at 13.8dBm, and when the antenna is seriously mismatch, the harmonic generator will reflect the second harmonic. When the input power is -20 ~ -2 dBm, the second harmonic power is from-39.6 to -19.4 dBm. In addition, the harmonic generator can demodulate the ASK signal and avoids the complex receiver structure. Therefore, This work can also be used for transmitting communication and energy signal simultaneously. © 2023 IEEE.

Individuals who are younger and have dementia often start experiencing its symptoms before they turn 65, with cases even documented in people as young as their thirties. Researchers strive for accurate dementia diagnosis to slow or halt its progression. This paper presents a novel Enhanced Dementia Detection and Classification Model (EDCM) comprised of four modules: data acquisition, preprocessing, hyperparameter optimization, and feature extraction/classification. Notably, the model uses texture information from segmented brain images for improved feature extraction, leading to significant gains in both binary and multi-class classification. This is achieved by selecting optimal features via a Gray Wolf Optimization (GWO)-driven enhancement model. Results demonstrate substantial accuracy improvements after optimization. For instance, using an Extra Tree Classifier for "normal" cases, the model achieves 85% accuracy before optimization. However, with GWO-optimized features and hyperparameters, the accuracy jumps to 97%. © The Author(s) 2024.

This paper proposes an alternative detection frame-work for multiple sclerosis (MS) and idiopathic acute transverse myelitis (ATM) within the 6G-enabled Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) environment. The developed framework relies on the implementation of a deep learning technique known as Dense Convolutional Networks (DenseNets) in the 6G-enabled IoMT to enhance prediction performance. To validate the performance of DenseNets, we compared it with other deep learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and MobileNet, using real-world datasets. The experimental results show the high performance of DenseNets in predicting MS and ATM compared to other methods, achieving an accuracy of nearly 90 %. © 2024 IEEE.

The rise of security concerns has spurred on-going research into Brain-computer Interfaces (BCI) based authentication. These applications utilize electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, due to their properties that can enhance security systems. In previous studies, EEG data has been incorporated into various authentication systems to compare the performance of new and existing classification methods. However, using EEG data to compare the performance of distance metrics in a P300-based BCI authentication system has not been explored yet. In this study, EEG data is used to determine the most effective distance metric for authenticating users in a closed-loop system. To accomplish this task, we conducted a longitudinal study to evaluate three distance metrics (Cosine, Correlation and Chebyshev) while participants interacted with our BCI authentication system. Our results indicated that the Cosine similarity outperformed all other distance metrics for each user. © 2023 IEEE.

In the context of structural health monitoring (SHM), the effect of various design parameters (working frequency, concrete strength, humidity of concrete, type of steel bar, etc.) on the power transmission capability of IPT system is explored. Observations indicate that the concrete's moisture content, operating frequency, and coil position have a considerably effect on the power transfer efficiency (PTE). When the distance between the transmitting and receiving coil is fixed, the effect of the number of relays coils on transmission efficiency is studied. The results demonstrate that there exists an optimal number of coils for maximizing transmission efficiency. The results in this paper would provide some design guides for inductive power transfer in structural health monitoring. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) emerged as an innovative and patient-centric approach for non-invasive and painless examination of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It serves as a pivotal tool in helping medical practitioners in the early detection of anomalies within the intricate domain of the human GI tract. The automated identification of aberrations assumes paramount significance, contributing not only to temporal efficiency but also to timely diagnosis. Within the realm of academic literature, a plethora of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies have been proposed to effectuate the automatic classification, segmentation, and synthesis of anomalies inherent in WCE images. This scholarly endeavor undertakes a comprehensive and meticulous survey, elucidating the spectrum of anomaly classification, summarization, and detection techniques harnessed for computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) in the context of WCE images. The survey begins by delineating the methodologies underpinning WCE image classification and video processing. Subsequently, an exhaustive evaluation of techniques for analyzing WCE images is furnished, accompanied by an in-depth exploration of pertinent surveys, in addition to a judicious assessment of their merits and demerits. Furthermore, this study undertakes a rigorous evaluation of prevailing datasets utilized to benchmark the efficacy of various WCE techniques. Mental health dynamics have also been affected with significant changes by the digital age with the changes in the way people interact, work, or get information. What has emerged over the last decade, while information technologies such as social media, mobile applications, and telemedicine in the broad sense contain the potential for increasing awareness, availability, and support for individuals with mental health problems, new risks also appear. Screens are addictive, and increased use of social media can result in cyberbullying and social comparison, spreading of fake news which causes anxiety, depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses. On the other hand, as found in the digital contexts, there are support networks, opportunities to plan early intervention, along with mental health literacy. The current study discusses the twofold nature of the effects of digital technology on mental health and how both positive and negative outcomes should be used as the guide for the use of technology in the improvement of mental health. It raises awareness of digital literacy that is necessary to teach people healthy virtual behaviors and discussion of mental-health issues to contribute to the creation of a positive online culture. A Transfer Learning-Based Framework for Enhanced Classification of Perceived Mental Stress Using EEG Spectrograms

Stress is a significant health concern, impacting both physical and mental well-being. Prolonged exposure to stress can lead to numerous physical health issues, including cardiovascular diseases, and a weakened immune system. This study presents a novel methodology for classifying perceived mental stress using electroencephalography (EEG) signals. By utilizing the publicly available Leipzig Study for Mind-Body-Emotion Interactions dataset, we analyze EEG data collected from 53 participants over a 7-minute resting-state duration. Our approach involves transforming EEG signals into spectrograms using the Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT), resulting in a time-frequency representation of the input signals. We employ transfer learning to fine-tune three pre-trained deep neural networks i.e., ResNet50, EfficientNetB0, and DenseNet121 for classifying stress into two and three levels. Our findings demonstrate that the ResNet50 model achieves superior classification accuracies of 95.80% and 86.02% for two and three-level stress classification, respectively, outperforming existing state-of-the-art methods. This study is the first to utilize STFT-generated spectrograms and transfer learning for perceived stress classification, highlighting the efficacy of deep learning techniques in quantifying perceived mental stress through non-invasive EEG recordings. Our results indicate that the proposed method can significantly enhance the accuracy of stress classification frameworks, offering potential improvements in mental health assessment and intervention strategies. © 2013 IEEE.
