Expert planning and implementation of wireless sensor networks is currently a hotly researched area due to the huge potential of sensor networks to enable applications that blur the line between the real and virtual worlds. Various industries, including security, healthcare, and others, are finding more and more uses for wireless sensor networks (WSN). A sensor node is a collection of sensors and a motes unit. A sensor is a data-collecting device that transmits its findings to a motes. Sensors are often worn to calculate changes in big environmental parameters like temperature, strain, moisture, noise, and tremor. furthermore, variations in health indicators like blood pressure and heart rate. In this study, we propose the ABC Based Energy Efficient Protocol (ABCEEP) to apply Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) to the problem of electing the cluster heads during the cluster setup phase, with the goals of minimizing the consistency/break up/compactness of the cluster (intra remoteness) and maximizing the cluster separation (inter remoteness). © 2022 IEEE.

In order to classify the areas around major fire station areas while achieving two goals, i.e. reductions of time and cost mostly with regards to prescribed conditions, this paper tackles the issue of assigning and evaluating the score of web pages from just a selection of fire hazard terminal areas. Every region must be allocated to a different site which has been specifically picked for the goal of setting one up, which is one restriction. The maximum number of buildings that may be assigned to a fire house site is also agreed upon. The two goals are to reduce the total operating costs as well as the amount of time needed to cover the areas serviced by the chosen fire engines. Using the suggested technical foul intuitive technique, a set of useful measures with regard to limitations is found. For those in the position of making choices on facility assignment, this may be a viable substitute. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays there are so many mobile phone-based investment applications, ranging from mutual funds, stocks, and P2P lending. While these investment applications are gaining huge attraction among the general masses, sometimes selecting the right platform still becomes a hot issue. This research aimed to analyze the sentiment on P2P lending applications and to determine the user's response due to the increase in the number of funds distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. By doing so, this research could give some insight into the new and existing user. Data was obtained through assessment reviews on the Play store platform for the P2P A, P2P B, and P2P C applications. Assessment reviews were classified by using a data mining approach, TF-IDF feature extraction, and Naïve-Bayes classification method. This research showed that P2P A got 77% positive sentiment and 23% negative sentiment, P2P B got 36% positive sentiment and 64% negative sentiment, and P2P C got 68% positive sentiment and 32% negative sentiment. From the results of the study, it was found that P2P A got better results than both P2P B and P2P C. those were 77% positive sentiment with 23% negative sentiment in finance topic, 56% positive sentiment with 44 % negative sentiment in account verification topic, 79% positive sentiment with 21% negative sentiment in apps review, and 99% positive sentiment with 1% negative sentiment in referral topic. © 2022 IEEE.

The goal of the proposed work is to develop an early flood detection and environment monitoring system utilizing IoT is to create a system that includes a sensor, a transceiver to transfer data, and a computing device to monitor and predict floods. The statistics on the water level, temperature, and water velocity are all extremely important for predicting the flood calamity. The basic operation of this system begins with sensors gathering flood parameters at a particular place. Next, the nodes transmit these parameters to the base station. Finally, the base station receives these parameters from the nodes. The system will automatically determine whether or not the measured parameter is above or below the threshold value that have established for the potential for a flood disaster. In the event that the values being measured are greater than the threshold values that have been established, an alarm message will be generated. The dam gates are controlled accordingly. Additionally, the environment monitoring is done in the premises of the reservoir by monitoring the humidity and temperature using DHT11 sensors and displaying in LCD, the pH of the reservoir is monitored to so that aquatic life in reservoir is maintained, sometimes it may happen that in hydroelectric power plant malfunction may occur due to which the short circuit may occur leading to fire outbreak to detect and avoid the fire outbreak the smoke sensor is used in the system to detect the smoke alert and concerned authorities. © 2022 IEEE.

In the auto insurance industry, accurate risk assessment is essential for determining fair premiums and managing claims effectively. As customer data grows in volume and complexity, machine learning has become crucial for precise customer segmentation and risk prediction. However, the industry faces significant challenges, particularly the class imbalance in data and the unequal costs associated with misclassification errors, where some errors are far more costly than others. This study compares two approaches to address these issues: traditional sampling techniques commonly used to mitigate class imbalance, and a cost-sensitive learning framework that optimizes the cost matrix using a genetic algorithm to minimize the financial impact of misclassification. The findings demonstrate that the cost-sensitive approach significantly enhances overall model performance by more effectively prioritizing costly errors, leading to more accurate and economically sound decision-making. This research highlights the importance of integrating advanced machine learning techniques in the insurance sector, showing that such approaches can substantially improve the fairness and efficiency of risk prediction models, ultimately benefiting insurers by enabling more precise premium setting and increasing customer satisfaction. © 2024 IEEE.

Joint segmentation and registration of images is a focused area of research nowadays. Jointly segmenting and registering noisy images and images having weak boundaries/intensity inhomogeneity is a challenging task. In medical image processing, joint segmentation and registration are essential methods that aid in distinguishing structures and aligning images for precise diagnosis and therapy. However, these methods encounter challenges, such as computational complexity and sensitivity to variations in image quality, which may reduce their effectiveness in real-world applications. Another major issue is still attaining effective joint segmentation and registration in the presence of artifacts or anatomical deformations. In this paper, a new nonparametric joint model is proposed for the segmentation and registration of multi-modality images having weak boundaries/noise. For segmentation purposes, the model will be utilizing local binary fitting data term and for registration, it is utilizing conditional mutual information. For regularization of the model, we are using linear curvature. The new proposed model is more efficient to segmenting and registering multi-modality images having intensity inhomogeneity, noise and/or weak boundaries. The proposed model is also tested on the images obtained from the freely available CHOAS dataset and compare the results of the proposed model with the other existing models using statistical measures such as the Jaccard similarity index, relative reduction, Dice similarity coefficient and Hausdorff distance. It can be seen that the proposed model outperforms the other existing models in terms of quantitatively and qualitatively. © 2024 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.

The wireless body area network (WBAN) is a wireless sensor network that calculates natural constraints for special applications using wireless sensor nodes in and around the human body. Routing protocols used in wireless body networks influence energy, topology, temperature, location, sensor radio choice, and appropriate quality of service in sensor nodes. The achievement of energy effectiveness in wireless body networks (WBANs) is one of these challenges, as energy efficiency eventually affects the durability of the network. The majority of applications in the wireless body sensor network (WBAN) currently require efficient transmission processes for remote monitoring of wearable system data on demand and in a timely manner. This paper proposes a reliable, power efficient, and highly stable network for wireless body area sensor networks. Cardiovascular disease is one of the dangerous non-communicable disorders or diseases that has become one of the causes of death worldwide. Various studies have been conducted to prevent cardiovascular disease in the world. This study analyzed cardiovascular disease medical record data from the Kaggle public dataset by implementing correlational analysis combined with association rule mining to identify variables that are the predominant cause of cardiovascular disease. Correlational analysis can analyze the interrelationships between variables in a dataset, but not in depth. Association rule mining can identify the interrelationships of variables in the form of frequent item sets, which can be calculated for their support and confidence values. The result of this study is a combination of correlation analysis with association rule mining that can identify predominant variables to cause cardiovascular disease. The integration of renewable energy sources inherently reduces power system inertia, which can result in a higher rate of change of frequency. Moreover, reduced inertia also affects the small-signal stability and controllability of the interconnected synchronous generators (SGs). In this paper, we use the linear state-space model to show the impact of SGs' inertia constants on eigenvalues, participation factors, and Gramian-based controllability metrics. Both a single-machine and an IEEE 9-bus system were analyzed. The results for the IEEE 9-bus system with three SGs show an optimal range of inertia constants to increase the damping of a specific mode and increase controllability. Thus, a framework for multi-objective optimization combining large-signal stability, small-signal stability, and controllability is proposed that can be applied to grid-forming converters. © 2024 IEEE.
