The paper presents analysis results of sound pressure level of infrasound noise generated by brand new wind turbine from REPOWER type MM92, rated power 2 MW. As results the amplitude spectra of noise for three chosen wind speed values are presented. Additionally, distributions of the sound pressure level with dependence on wind speed for selected resonant and median frequency values are presented. For chosen frequencies linear regression analysis was performed and subjected for a detailed evaluation. Values obtained from measurement were referred to and compared with the limits specified in legislations existing in this area.

Operating wind turbines produce infrasound noise thus they act on the environment. This also applies to small wind turbines, which are located in the immediate vicinity of human settlements. Small wind turbines can be located close to buildings and mounted directly on their walls and roofs. In this case, it is important to determine the level of environmental impact of such type of installation. Measurement results of infrasound noise generated by a small vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), rated power 1 kW, are presented in the paper. Analysis results of sound pressure level and dependence of signal spectra from different wind speeds are shown. In the analysis of sound pressure level the G weighing curve was used according to the ISO 7196:2002 standard and achieved results were referred to the limits contained in the current legislation, what allowed for evaluation of the infrasound noise impact of the turbine under study.

The distributed computer systems applied in industry are usually of the real-time type. In those systems the maximal system response time has to be always well known in order to ensure the functional as well as the safety parameters of the system. However, the system response time may be subject to change as a result of system development during its life cycle. As the given system grows, the response time lengthens. So it happens that in order to satisfy the real-time constraints, the response time T RES has to be reduced after the system development. One of the factors that have an influence on the T RES time, is the automata cycle of the communication system nodes. The shorter the automata cycle is, the more frequent is the data exchange between the CPU module and the communication module of the given system node, which improves the T RES value. However, having the node's application well implemented, shortening of the automata cycle may seldom be done by the application optimization. Then, the only solution would be to temporary shorten the automata cycle by execution of some of the most crucial parts of the user application. In this paper, a method for shortening the automata cycle is described.

This paper proposes a deMOtion-based, fLAsh-awaRe hybrid storage cache model, named MOLAR, to effectively integrate Flash-based Solid State Disks (SSDs) into traditional DRAM-based memory storage systems. In MOLAR, a flash-aware I/O path structure is designed to adapt the asymmetric read and write performance of SSD and moreover to reduce useless write operations. A new control metric, demotion count, is proposed to wisely select the evicted data blocks from DRAM to reside in SSD. Besides, for SSD can improve internal data placement from data access hints, the Logical Block Addresses (LBAs) in SSD are grouped into the long-lived region and the short-lived region self-adaptively via a heuristic control algorithm based on the change of data block demotion count. Through trace-driven simulations, the overall hit ratio in MOLAR outperforms two traditional policies from 1.44% to 5.34%. The average write latency in SSD is reduced by 3.5 X. Moreover, write amplification is effectively reduced by about 36% in two typical flash address mapping policies.

In this paper we propose a stability augmentation system for a quadrotor, enabling direct rate control for a human pilot. Our system includes feedforward for rate control, feedback for disturbance attenuation, and an online optimization technique for handling input restrictions. We show that the proposed algorithms are able to stabilize the system under highly challenging flight conditions, such as wind gusts and fast manual descend. Our input restriction technique ensures that the revolution speeds for the desired torques are feasible. The complete control system is analyzed using MATLAB, and full experimental validation is provided based on a quadrotor prototype.

Results of scientific research works considering selection of measuring transducer applied for registration of acoustic emission signals generated by on load tap changers are presented in the paper. During the coupling process acoustic emission signals are generated by: the mechanical setup of tap changer, contacts operation, and other phenomena. For most on load tap changers types, the working medium is insulation oil in which the acoustic wave being formed propagates to the steal tank. There exists a possibility to register acoustic emission signals with a piezoelectric transducer attached to the outer tank surface or with a hydrophone immersed in the oil. Acoustic emission signal obtained in such manner contains information which describes operation of the power tap changer and the selector. A comparative analysis of acoustic emission signals generated by on load tap changers working under laboratory conditions, with applied measuring transducers with different transmittances, is presented in the paper. The comparative analysis was performed in order to determine their suitability for on load tap changers technical condition diagnosis. Based on the results achieved, one transducer which allows the registration of acoustic events generated during on load tap changers operation was selected.

Binary code analysis has attracted much attention. The difficulty lies in constructing a control Flow Graph (CFG), which is dynamically generated and modified, such as mutations. Typical examples are handling dynamic jump instructions, in which destinations may be directly modified by rewriting loaded instructions on memory. In this paper, we describe a PhD project proposal on a hybrid approach that combines static analysis and dynamic testing to construct CFG from binary code. Our aim is to minimize false targets produced when processing indirect jumps during CFG construction. To evaluate the potential of our approach, we preliminarily compare results between our method and Jakstab, a state-of-the-art tool in this field.
