Cyber-physical wireless systems have surfaced as an important data communication and networking research *** is an emerging discipline that allows effective monitoring and efficient real-time communication between the cyber and physical worlds by embedding computer software and integrating communication and networking *** to their high reliability,sensitivity and connectivity,their security requirements are more comparable to the Internet as they are prone to various security threats such as eavesdropping,spoofing,botnets,man-in-the-middle attack,denial of service(DoS)and distributed denial of service(DDoS)and *** methods use physical layer authentication(PLA),themost promising solution to detect ***,the cyber-physical systems(CPS)have relatively large computational requirements and require more communication resources,thus making it impossible to achieve a low latency *** methods perform well but only in stationary *** have extracted the relevant features from the channel matrices using discrete wavelet transformation to improve the computational time required for data processing by considering mobile *** features are fed to ensemble learning algorithms,such as AdaBoost,LogitBoost and Gentle Boost,to classify *** authentication of the received signal is considered a binary classification *** transmitted data is labeled as legitimate information,and spoofing data is illegitimate ***,this paper proposes a threshold-free PLA approach that uses machine learning algorithms to protect critical data from spoofing *** detects the malicious data packets in stationary scenarios and detects them with high accuracy when receivers are *** proposed model achieves better performance than the existing approaches in terms of accuracy and computational time by decreasing the processing time.

A single-modal infrared or visible image offers limited representation in scenes with lighting degradation or extreme weather. We propose a multi-modal fusion framework, named SDSFusion, for all-day and all-weather infrared and visible image fusion. SDSFusion exploits the commonality in image processing to achieve enhancement, fusion, and semantic task interaction in a unified framework guided by semantic awareness and multi-scale features and losses. To address the disparity between infrared and visible images in degraded scenes, we differentiate modal features in a unified fusion model. Unlike existing joint fusion methods, we propose an adversarial generative network that refines the reconstruction of low-light images by embedding fused features. It provides feature-level brightness supplementation and image reconstruction to refine brightness and contrast. Extensive experiments in degraded scenes confirm that our approach is superior to state-of-the-art approaches in visual quality and performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of interaction improvement. © 1992-2012 IEEE.

The main focus of this research is on improving the performance of dynamic systems with actuator non-linearities and time-varying disturbances. To this end, using the concept of finite-time stability, a novel observer is presented to estimate the disturbances in systems with input non-linearities. Then, introducing an innovative sliding manifold, a robust observer-based technique is derived to guarantee the finite-time stability of the sliding surface. Hence, the closed-loop system would be stable in the presence of hard non-linearities and time-varying disturbances. The performance of the proposed approach was assessed in using a simulation study of two numerical examples. The obtained results and comparison with a conventional method confirmed the benefits of the suggested approach. © 2022 The Authors. A solar steam evaporator provides a sustainable and efficient alternative water purification solution to address the global freshwater *** efforts have made significant advances in maximizing its water evaporation rate,but no single evaporator has all the properties necessary for practical point-of-use application,including a high efficiency for generation of drinkable water,an excellent portability critical for on-site water purification,good washability for mitigating evaporator fouling,and good *** report a strategy to produce a high-performance photothermal material for point-of-use water *** simultaneously incorporating graphene and gold particles grown from recycled electronic waste in a mechanically strong sponge,we achieved highly efficient water purification under realistic *** addition to a high evaporation rate(3.55 kg/m^(2)/h under one-sun irradiation)attributed to a control of atomic structure of graphene and the size-dependent surface plasmon resonance of gold nanoparticles,it is portable which can be folded,vacuum compacted,dried and rehydrated without compromising *** also allows repeated washing to remove contaminant fouling so that it can be *** evaporator transforms various types of contaminated water into drinkable clean water,and can be mounted at any angle to optimize the incident solar ***,the assembled steam evaporator device could gain purified water meeting the World Health Organization drinking water standards with a high evaporation rate of 9.36 kg/m^(2)/h under outdoor sunlight.

"Artificial lung" is a device that simulates breathing process of occupants in a room. This allows you to safely test, e.g., the impact of HVAC systems on the spread of pathogens. The paper describes the concept of the device, its construction and performed tests. The project was implemented by students of two faculties: Automatic control, Electronics and computer science, and Energy and Environmental engineering. Security and efficiency during the handover process are critical challenges in 5G heterogeneous networks owing to its strict low latency and security requirements. The 5G networks support many services and communication paradigms. Examples of these applications include as Internet of Things (IoT), vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), device-to-device communication (D2D), among others. As such, security lapses in the core network can easily escalate to the supported communication devices and networks and vice versa. Unfortunately, legacy cellular networks deploy the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) as the only parameter during the handover process. This results in increased handover latencies, packet losses, and high handover failure probability. Consequently, other protocols have been introduced that deploy additional handover parameters such as data rates, service costs, battery power, bandwidth, and energy consumption. However, these schemes only deal with efficiency of the handoff process but rarely consider security and privacy issues. Conversely, security and privacy protocols rarely address efficiency aspects of the handover process. In this paper, an algorithm that leverages on artificial neural networks coupled with fuzzy logic for target cell selection is presented. Based on the obtained results, there is a 56.1% reduction in handover latency and a 38.8% reduction in packet losses when the proposed scheme is deployed. In terms of security, it upholds both backward and forward key secrecy. In addition, desynchronization and replay and attacks are effectively thwarted in the proposed algorithm. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

During the COVID19 epidemic, people of all ages from all walks of life around the world have become inevitably familiar with and almost dependent on the digital tools of the age and the opportunities they offer. A change had to take place very quickly that was unprecedented. This process has also affected education. During the time of the reading lock-in, there was a proliferation of digital curricular content. The second time around, online education came to the fore, thanks to less or well-functioning online platforms, and has since become part of everyday teaching. What is the effectiveness and usefulness of sharing knowledge in this way? Is literacy still needed at all? Can online and hybrid (a controlled mix of face-to-face and online) education replace the well-established contact and face-to-face education? The study show that the respondents believe that online education has had an impact on literacy and that it is perceived to have a positive impact. The results indicate that online education has a positive impact on the literacy levels of students, as it facilitates knowledge acquisition and enhances digital literacy skills. © 2024 IEEE.

In the last three years, a new partner has emerged for teachers and educators in the field of education. The mushrooming of applications based on large language models has greatly shaped the educational development fields of the present era. The use of various AI applications has become commonplace among students and teachers alike. Many questions are being raised by researchers in this field. What does the rapid development of AI applications bring to the field of pedagogy? Should the products of such applications be compared with human performance? The form presented in this thesis seeks to answer similar questions. What is the impact of frequent use of these applications on the literacy level of individuals? In which areas do students tend to use these applications? The results indicate that half of the students believe their literacy levels will decrease with the mass emergence of AI applications, while 36% feel it will not change. However, 88 % of students have already dealt with AI-based applications, with 64 % using them several times or more, suggesting a high level of integration into their educational processes. © 2024 IEEE.
