Fog computing paradigm extends computing,communication,storage,and network resources to the network’s *** the fog layer is located between cloud and end-users,it can provide more convenience and timely services to ***,in fog computing(FC),attackers can behave as real fog nodes or end-users to provide malicious services in the *** attacker acts as an impersonator to impersonate other legitimate ***,in this work,we present a detection technique to secure the FC ***,we model a physical layer key generation based on wireless channel *** generate the secret keys between the legitimate users and avoid impersonators,we then consider a Double Sarsa technique to identify the impersonators at the receiver *** compare our proposed Double Sarsa technique with the other two methods to validate our work,i.e.,Sarsa and *** simulation results demonstrate that the method based on Double Sarsa outperforms Sarsa and Q-learning approaches in terms of false alarm rate(FAR),miss detection rate(MDR),and average error rate(AER).

With the rapid increase in cloud services and the increasing shift toward them, balancing the cloud load has become a critical research issue. The increasing demand from customers for technology services worldwide is largely due to its direct impact on performance quality. Therefore, to provide better service quality, it is essential to consider reducing response time and cost in load balancing. This paper addresses the load-balancing problem by optimizing response time and computing cost in cloud computing systems. Specifically, we first formulated the load balancing problem in cloud computing mathematically by designing an objective function that optimizes response time and cost, including constraints to ensure task assignment to a single virtual machine (VM) and resource limits are not exceeded. To solve this optimization problem, we proposed a hybrid algorithm, ACOCSA, that combines Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Crow Search Algorithm (CSA). We implemented the ACOCSA algorithm, evaluated the response time, cost, and load balancing metrics, and found that our algorithm performed better in terms of response time and computational cost, and showed good fairness among VMs.

This study investigates the network-based fixed-time stabilization problem of the direct drive wheel (DDW) system of electric vehicles under stochastic cyber-attacks and intermittent denial of service (DoS) attacks via reliable discontinuous control strategy, which has important research significance for the application of the communication network security of the direct drive wheel system of electric vehicles. Firstly, aiming at the fact that the widths of control channels induced by stochastic cyber-attacks are inconsistent, a new controller based on quantization discontinuous delay control method is designed. Secondly, the actuator fault is also taken into account to conform to the actual operation of the direct drive wheel system of electric vehicles. Moreover, given the reliability of controllers in practical engineering, this work develops a new sufficient condition for easy implementation based on Lyapunov functional, and construct a new reliable discontinuous safety controller with stochastic cyber-attacks and intermittent DoS attacks to control the stability of the direct drive wheel system of electric vehicles in fixed time. Finally, the correctness and feasibility of the developed theoretical results are verified by experiments. © 2015 IEEE.

In powered lower limb prostheses and exoskeleton control, sEMG based methods have been widely explored and utilized due to non-invasive nature and ability to directly reflect user intentions. However, in practical use, neuromuscular fatigue (NMF) caused by long-term use can cause significant changes in sEMG signals. These issues are constraining sEMG's active prosthetics from the laboratory to real life. In this study, the changes in sEMG signals with muscle fatigue was investigated. sEMG data from one healthy subject and a below-knee amputee were logged and analyzed when they walked on a treadmill for a long time. They will experience from no NMF to NMF and then adapt to no NMF. A variational mode decomposition-based soft interval threshold (VMD-SIT) method was used to denoise the sEMG signals. Feature extraction methods were used to extract the features of the sEMG signal, and the distribution changes of these features during walking were analyzed. The results indicated that the NMF of the amputee was quite different from and more variable than that of the healthy subject, and the ratios of features’ mean value of amputee and healthy are much higher in residual-limb side (12.35-26.18) than normal side (3.52-5.91).

This paper details the integration of augmented reality (AR) in a new factory, focusing on enhancing maintenance efficiency and optimization. The innovative approach involves combining AR technology, an Android application, and Siemens PLCs (Programmable Logic controller), for efficient automation. The robustness of the PLC enables seamless integration within manufacturing environments, accommodating diverse programming paradigms. The software aspect features Human Machine Interface (HMI) configuration using Siemens’ WinCC software, offering dynamic visualizations, alarm handling, and data logging. Continuous development is suggested through the addition of more 3D mechanical drawings and real-time stock information for parts in the application, aiming for future optimization and performance enhancement.

The deployment of many base stations within a small network coverage area can potentially increase network capacities. However, this implies frequent handoffs as the users move within the small tracking areas. An effective hand off strategy is therefore required to boost quality of service and quality of experience during the handoff process. Unfortunately, most of the conventional handoff strategies are reactive and tend to deploy single or few parameters as inputs to the decision-making process. As such, handoffs are executed without fully considering user satisfaction as well as application, device and service requirements. This results in deterioration of both quality of service and quality of experience after the handoff procedures. In this paper, extreme gradient boosting based algorithm is presented. The results show that it has minimal handoff failure and ping pong rates, while exhibiting very high handoff success rates. In addition, its receiver operating characteristic-area under curve value of 0.97627 exceeds the 0.7 threshold. Consequently, it is capable of predicting the success of the inter-radio access technology handoff with high probability. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to the vagueness and uncertainties due to the coronavirus, it is crucial to implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the World Health Organization and the authorities. Therefore an effective control system is required that minimizes the vagueness and uncertainties of people who are on the front line during the period of this pandemic checking the entering persons in an indoor area where it is necessary to maintain a distance of six feet from one another to avoid the spread of coronavirus. In this research work, a robust and efficient system has been proposed that takes protective mask and feverishness values as input and applies them using the fuzzy logic algorithm. If these input values are according to the rules defined in the system, then the door will open as an output. Otherwise, the door will not open. It is, finally, analyzing the output values. This fuzzy model had been implemented using a microcontroller. The genuine difference in the duty cycle of the microcontroller’s output pulse was measured using a 100 MHz digital oscilloscope. Our proposed system was compared with different systems reported in the literature. This work reduces the human effort as well as the negligence of people and builds up the management system without the labor in a mint. © 2023 IEEE.

Internet of Things solutions typically involve interaction between sensors, actuators, the cloud, embedded systems and user applications. Often in such cases, there are time constraints specifying the maximum response time to a request. This time depends on the calculation time and transmission time. Existing Internet communication solutions do not ensure the implementation of transmissions in a way that guarantees meeting the set time constraints. This paper proposes a new model of Internet communication dedicated to real-time Internet of Things systems, which includes a communication protocol, as well as a transmission scheduling and routing method. The protocol takes into account information about transmission time constraints, which is used for packet scheduling by routers, allowing to increase quality of service. In addition, the proposed static routing mechanism makes it possible to parallelize transmissions if time constraints are still exceeded. Also presented are preliminary results of experiments showing to what extent the proposed methods allow improving the quality of service in real-time Internet of Things systems.

Affective computing stands at the forefront of artificial intelligence (AI), seeking to imbue machines with the ability to comprehend and respond to human emotions. Central to this field is emotion recognition, which endeavors to identify and interpret human emotional states from different modalities, such as speech, facial images, text, and physiological signals. In recent years, important progress has been made in generative models, including Autoencoder, Generative Adversarial Network, Diffusion Model, and Large Language Model. These models, with their powerful data generation capabilities, emerge as pivotal tools in advancing emotion recognition. However, up to now, there remains a paucity of systematic efforts that review generative technology for emotion recognition. This survey aims to bridge the gaps in the existing literature by conducting a comprehensive analysis of over 320 research papers until June 2024. Specifically, this survey will firstly introduce the mathematical principles of different generative models and the commonly used datasets. Subsequently, through a taxonomy, it will provide an in-depth analysis of how generative techniques address emotion recognition based on different modalities in several aspects, including data augmentation, feature extraction, semi-supervised learning, cross-domain, etc. Finally, the review will outline future research directions, emphasizing the potential of generative models to advance the field of emotion recognition and enhance the emotional intelligence of AI systems.
