By exploiting wireless operators, contemporary bookcrossing allows people to share books conveniently and hastens the spread of knowledge. Nevertheless, the widespread use of smartphone bookcrossing has been seriously hampered by the lack of tracking, resulting in missing and disappearance of textbooks, additionally, it leads to organizational inefficiency. Hence, we suggest using the emerging blockchain technology to exploit the advantages of its immutability and encrypted smart contract in order to overcome these difficulties. In this research, we propose a BookChain, a blockchain-based intra-campus book-sharing system that is verifiable and effective. BookChain securely records all of the book's interacting entities on blockchain because every consumer could retrace the book's renting activity, hence lowering the risk of a book being misplaced. Additionally, BookChain promotes the use of smart contracts to streamline the distribution of books with very little human interference, maximizing productivity. The experimental findings demonstrate the efficiency and affordability of the suggested system even with a large number of concurrent participants. © 2023 IEEE.

Information engineering strategies play a significant and transformative role in shaping the landscape of digital agriculture. It drives innovation and efficiency in modern farming practices, with a specific focus on enhancing the value of agricultural commodities, such as sugarcane. The application of mobile technology plays a crucial part in achieving increased sugarcane productivity. Mobile applications, equipped with advanced developer features, offer rapid and user-friendly access to vital information. Traditional methods of estimating sugarcane production relied on manual data recording on paper, followed by data transfer to computer systems, typically managed by sugar factory junior plant officers. This conventional approach presents several inherent weaknesses, including time and effort intensiveness during data recording and entry. Additionally, the potential for errors in calculation and data input is a concern. The storage capacity for paper-based documents is finite, and farmers are often unable to autonomously assess their production potential. The objective of this research is to confront these obstacles by creating a sugarcane production application for Android. This application functions as an information engineering approach focused on forecasting sugarcane yields for plantation owners and their assistants. The development procedure adhered to the systematic waterfall method, following the principles of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model. data collection was carried out through observations, while interviews with junior plant officers provided valuable insights into sugarcane estimation techniques. Analysis involved the synthesis of observational and interview data to inform the design of the application's interface and algorithmic system. Rising urban air pollution poses serious health dangers. Through robots, cloud computing, and deep reinforcement learning, this research proposes a new air purification method. The suggested autonomous system analyzes real-time air quality parameters and optimizes air purification tactics using cloud-based data processing. Advanced sensors and purification processes allow robotic agents to intelligently adapt to shifting pollution patterns in dynamic settings. Robots use Deep Q Networks (DQN) to learn and change their purifying tactics based on past data and environmental input. Cloud computing and deep learning improve air purification efficiency and enable real-time pollution response decision-making. The autonomous system is scalable and adaptable to varied urban environments since it requires little human involvement. The cloud-based design lets autonomous agents communicate and coordinate to improve air quality. Experimental findings show that the suggested strategy improves air purification over previous approaches. This system advances environmental robotics and lays the groundwork for intelligent, autonomous systems that handle urban air quality and pollution issues. © 2024 IEEE.

The skin has a very significant role in humans. But unfortunately, the skin is one of the organs vulnerable to disease. Skin diseases can have an impact on the annoying itching, pain, emotional, and social feelings of the sufferer. The causes of skin diseases include bacteria, fungi, viruses, dust, and allergies. Delay in treatment can exacerbate the condition of the affected skin. Therefore, the research proposed a skin disease detection mobile application for early diagnosis. The total of skin disease images is 2.747 data, which is divided into five classes and separated into training and validation data. The category of the dataset includes Acne Vulgaris, Actinic Keratosis, Nail Fungus, Psoriasis, and Seborrheic Keratoses. The development of this application uses several augmentation techniques so that the model gets input training data from various image forms, and then uses pre-trained MobileNetV2, which has low latency and low power as needed on mobile devices. The development of this application also uses the TensorFlow Lite model for inference with ML Kit on Android. The model performance gave the best accuracy of 90.62%, precision of 89%, recall of 90%, and F1- score of 89%. These results indicate that the classifying of skin diseases using the pre-trained MobileNetV2 on CNN architecture is feasible.

Supervised Classification (SML) is the pursuit of systems that reasoning from externally given instances to generate broad hypotheses, which subsequently generate predictions for future instances. One of the jobs performed by intelligent systems most commonly is supervised classification. Based on the data set, number of occurrences and variables in this study, the most efficient classification algorithm is selected. It is comprehensively described and contrasted with various supervised learning methods. Seven distinct machine learning algorithms were taken into consideration utilizing the Waikato Environment for data Analysis (WEDA) machine learning tool. For the identification process, the data set was used with 780 instances, eight independent variables (quality), and one dependent variable (variable). According to the data, SVM was the technique with the highest degree of precision and accuracy. Accordingly, the next accurate classification algorithms after SVM were determined to be Naive Bayes and Random Forest. The study demonstrates that precision (accuracy) and model construction time are two factors, whereas kappa statistics and mean error percentage (MAE) are two other factors. Therefore, controlled predictive machine learning requires precision, accuracy, and minimal error in ML algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

Many studies show that bearings are the most vulnerable components in low-voltage motors. While advanced bearing diagnostic systems exist, their cost can be a barrier for non-critical machinery due to the potential wait time to see a return on investment. This research explores the feasibility of using basic signal processing techniques on vibration data for bearing condition monitoring. The primary goal is to analyze benchmark data from the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) dataset and establish a baseline performance for this data-driven approach. The results suggest that, with appropriate signal processing, it's possible to achieve early detection of bearing faults, leading to more efficient time-To-fault identification with higher detection accuracies ranging from 83 % to 100 % for each method. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a robust approach for early detection of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) using advanced cepstral speech features, fused to capture diverse acoustic signatures. The Mann-Whitney U-test is employed to filter out non-informative features, improving real-world applicability and reducing overfitting. We systematically compare Random Forest, Decision Tree, and Support Vector Machine classifiers, achieving an accuracy of 85.6% using only the most significant features, drawn from MFCCs, GTCCs, LPCCs, and others. The method addresses data sparsity challenges in clinical research by favoring domain-relevant indicators while maintaining computational feasibility. The results confirm that subtle vocal cues, captured using affordable devices, are promising biomarkers for AD screening, especially in resourcelimited or telehealth environments. By highlighting both practical implementation and scalability, our study contributes to the development of efficient, non-invasive diagnostic protocols. This, in turn, supports earlier intervention and improved patient outcomes. The framework thus paves the way for future multimodal expansions.

As Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems grow more complex, ensuring real-time security has become a major challenge. Traditional security approaches are insufficient for handling dynamic and interconnected IoT networks, which are increasingly targeted by sophisticated cyber-attacks. To address these issues, new methodologies that combine real-time monitoring and adaptive security mechanisms are needed. Cyber Twin technology, an innovative extension of digital twin technology, presents a promising solution by creating AI-driven digital replicas of IoT devices and software systems for continuous security monitoring and management. This paper introduces a Cyber Twin Technology Framework for AI-driven real-time software security in IoT ecosystems. The framework employs advanced AI models, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for anomaly detection and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for synthetic data generation to simulate potential attack scenarios. A dynamic reinforcement learning module is integrated to optimize threat response strategies based on evolving threat patterns. By creating real-time digital replicas of IoT components, the Cyber Twin framework continuously monitors device behaviors, identifies anomalies, and autonomously initiates mitigation actions. The system is evaluated in a simulated IoT environment with over 500 interconnected devices. Experimental results demonstrate that the Cyber Twin framework achieved a 99.2% detection accuracy in identifying cyber threats, with a false positive rate of 1.3%. The dynamic response module reduced incident response time by 35% compared to traditional methods, enhancing the system's ability to neutralize potential threats in real-time. The use of GAN-based synthetic data also enabled proactive defense strategies, reducing attack success rates by 40% during testing. In an increasingly data-driven world, the ability to understand, interpret, and use data - data literacy - is emerging as a critical competence across all academic disciplines. The data Literacy Initiative (DaLI) at TH Köln addresses this need by developing a comprehensive competence model for promoting data literacy in higher education. Based on interdisciplinary collaboration and empirical research, the DaLI model defines seven overarching competence areas: "Establish data Culture", "Provide data", "Manage data", "Analyze data", "Evaluate data", "Interpret data", and "Publish data". Each area is further detailed by specific competence dimensions and progression levels, providing a structured framework for curriculum design, teaching, and assessment. Intended for use across disciplines, the model supports the strategic integration of data literacy into university programs. By providing a common language and orientation for educators and institutions, the DaLI model contributes to the broader goal of preparing students to navigate and shape a data-informed society. © 2025, CC BY-NC-SA.
