Food allergies are a significant concern for the community as they can have adverse effects on human health. Even a small amount of certain food items can trigger allergic reactions in the body, ranging from mild symptoms like hives or itchiness to severe and life-threatening anaphylaxis. However, these reactions can often be prevented by being aware of the specific allergen-based food items and avoiding their consumption. Our research aims to address this issue by utilizing a Convolutional Neural Network-based object. This model, belonging to the realm of deep learning techniques, is utilized to identify food items present in images. The primary objective behind this recognition process is to facilitate the development of a system that can effectively identify ingredients capable of triggering allergic reactions. This study explored three deep learning techniques for the classification of food images. The effectiveness of three distinct deep learning models, namely MobilenetV2, EfficientNetB0 and Resnet50v2, was examined. Notably, the EfficientNetB0 classifier outperformed the others, achieving an impressive accuracy score of 97%. © 2024 IEEE.

Gaming communities are groups of people from different nations, religions, genders, and ages who come to play games and have discussions about the games. However, some gaming communities are plagued by toxic behavior of people in communities, which negatively affects to other players. A Conversation Sentiment Analysis in the League of Legends Game Community is about analyzing the toxicity of the League of Legends game community by using the Sentiment Analysis methods which have Bag-of-Words and Weight Score method, and then comparing it with three machine learning techniques: Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and CatBoost, and showing how members in this community have interacted with other members in the community by using the Conversation Mapping Interactive method. © 2024 IEEE.

The lifted multicut problem has diverse applications in the field of computer vision. Exact algorithms based on linear programming require an understanding of lifted multicut polytopes. Despite recent progress, two fundamental questions about these polytopes have remained open: Which lower box inequalities define facets, and which cut inequalities define facets? In this article, we answer the first question by establishing conditions that are necessary, sufficient and efficiently decidable. Toward the second question, we show that deciding facet-definingness of cut inequalities is NP-hard. This completes the analysis of canonical facets of lifted multicut polytopes. Phonetics is a crucial branch of linguistics that studies human speech sounds and is essential for language learning, speech therapy, and speech technology development. However, current Arabic speech systems cannot instantly analyze and detect mispronunciation of Arabic phonemes, only offering a recording feature for self-evaluation. So, this paper presents a state-of-the-art approach using a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model for detecting and discriminating between Arabic phonemes. The model was tested on a collected dataset for the Arabic phonemes /s/ 'sin' and /s/ 'ad and demonstrated excellent performance in discriminating between them despite their close articulation. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.33% and outperformed other techniques proposed for small datasets. The model can be utilized either independently or integrated into a computer-assisted language learning (CALL) system. Furthermore, our findings suggest that there is significant room for improvement in this area, particularly in collecting large audio datasets for all the Arabic phonemes, refining the algorithms, and optimizing the data processing pipeline. © 2023 IEEE.

Skin diseases are prevalent in Thailand due to the hot temperatures, humid climate, and increasing diversity of skin tones, which complicates diagnosis. Artificial intelligence (AI) has improved skin disease detection through deep learning models, aiding faster diagnoses and reducing the workload on dermatologists. However, AI models often struggle with underrepresentation of darker skin tones in training datasets, affecting performance. To address this imbalance, data augmentation techniques like generative models are recommended. This research enhances skin disease classification using StyleGAN3 for data augmentation to balance minority skin tone classes. The Fitzpatrick17k dataset focusing on Acne, Psoriasis, and Vitiligo is used. The Fitzpatrick Skin Type Scale is reduced from six to three levels due to image availability. VGG16 is applied to classify skin tone classes. Two additional datasets, the original and traditionally augmented datasets, are used for comparison against the StyleGAN3-augmented dataset. Results show that the StyleGAN3-augmented dataset achieves the best performance with F1-scores of 0.7193, 0.7446, and 0.7543 and accuracy scores of 0.7200, 0.7368, and 0.7419 for Acne, Psoriasis, and Vitiligo respectively. The obtained results demonstrate that utilizing the StyleGAN3-augmented dataset for skin disease classification in minority skin tone classes yields the highest performance, with F1-scores increasing by 19.25%, 19.77%, and 25.94 % for Acne, Psoriasis, and Vitiligo, respectively. These findings highlight the effectiveness of StyleGAN3 in improving model performance for underrepresented skin tones in skin disease classification. © 2024 IEEE.

Text detection in the wild is an important stage for recognizing and interpreting text present in images or videos captured in uncontrolled environments in the wild. It helps in various applications such as scene understanding, robot navigation, augmented reality, and automatic captioning. However, it remains a difficult task, due to the vast differences in lighting, backgrounds, textures, and fonts. The research, in this topic, has predominantly concentrated on languages utilizing Latin characters, neglecting other languages with distinct features, such as the Arabic language. This work specifically addresses the topic of Arabic scene text detection. We propose a model for Arabic text detection from natural images based on transformers. We experiment two variations of this model: the first focuses on Arabic text, whereas the second is bilingual and handles both Latin and Arabic languages. We evaluate the performance of both models on existing datasets namely, the Everyday Arabic-English Scene Text dataset EvarEst [1] and the Arabic-Latin Scene Text Localization in Highway Traffic Panels dataset ASAYAR [2]. © 2024 IEEE.

Enhancing intrusion detection in IIoT: optimized CNN model with multi-class SMOTE balancing

This work introduces an intrusion detection system (IDS) tailored for industrial internet of things (IIoT) environments based on an optimized convolutional neural network (CNN) model. The model is trained on a dataset that was balanced using a novel multi-class implementation of synthetic minority over-sampling technique (SMOTE) that ensures equal representation of all classes. Additionally, systematic optimization will be used to fine tune the hyperparameters of the CNN model and mitigate the effects of the increased size of the training dataset. Evaluation results will demonstrate substantial improvement in performance when the optimized CNN model is trained on the balanced dataset. The proposed IDS will be evaluated using the IIoT-specific WUSTL-IIOT-2021 dataset, and then its generalization capability will be verified using the non-domain specific UNSW_NB15 dataset. The model’s performance will be evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results will demonstrate that the proposed IDS is highly effective with performance exceeding 99.9% on all performance metrics. The IDS is also highly effective in detecting intrusion for generic IT networks achieving improvements in excess of 30% compared to the default baseline model. The results emphasize the versatility and effectiveness of the proposed IDS model, making it a reliable and adaptable solution for enhancing network security across diverse network environments. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Image anomaly detection usually relies on a large set of training samples and abnormal samples are relatively rare and challenging to obtain in daily industrial scenarios. In the scenario of Few-Shot Anomaly Detection (FSAD), how to better utilize the fine-grained features of the few images is a key issue. To solve these problems, a Finer-Grained Siamese Network (FGSNet) is proposed in this paper. FGSNet considers the setting of Few-Shot Anomaly Detection (FSAD) and consists of two stages. The first stage is responsible for extracting finer-grained features and roughly aligning the image features, while incorporating an efficient Fine-grained Feature Fusion Module (F3M) to enhance feature representation. Meanwhile, we design a Deep-supervised Loss to improve the level of fine-grained information extraction. The second is primarily used to refine and denoise the fused features, followed by detailed alignment operations for subsequent feature distribution modeling. Compared to most existing FASD models that use single-class training and single-model evaluation, FGSNet is more suitable for existing industrial scenarios. Extensive experiments are conducted on the publicly available MVTec AD and MPDD datasets in this paper. The results show that, for 2, 4 and 8-shot cases, FGSNet can increase the average Image-AUROC on MVTec AD by 0.87%, 1.27% and 1.33% respectively, compared to RegAD. © 2024 IEEE.

Medication errors threaten patient safety considerably, underscoring the necessity for enhanced detection and prevention techniques. A prevalent classification system in hospitals relies on the standard practice of medication administration known as the Five Rights (5R). This study seeks to develop an NLP-based tool designed to expand 5R error categorization coverage and alleviate the workload of medical professionals. The proposed method focuses on Thai medical text, incorporating Thai and English vocabulary. In this investigation, we developed a supervised learning classification framework using the Universal Sentence Encoder (USE) for sentence embedding, followed by an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for model training. Additionally, we explored a zero-shot classification model employing pre-trained Large Language Models (PLMs). Our findings reveal that the supervised learning classification model provides the most favorable performance, albeit with the limitation of reliance on labeled datasets, which can be resource intensive. Conversely, the zero-shot classification framework's performance is less optimal. However, future advancements in Thai medical PLMs may improve efficacy and present a viable alternative for medical data analysis without dependence on labeled datasets. This initiative lays the groundwork for potential future applications and advantages within Thailand's medical domain. © 2023 IEEE.
