Centripetal Intensive Deep Hashing for Remote Sensing Image Retrieval

With the breakthrough of convolutional neural networks, deep hashing methods have demonstrated remarkable performance in large-scale image retrieval tasks. However, existing deep supervised hashing methods, which rely on pairwise or triplet labels, typically learn the hash function via random or hardest sample mining within training batches. This strategy primarily captures local sample similarities, causing a distribution shift and limiting retrieval performance. Furthermore, most methods emphasize global features while overlooking structural information, which is essential for understanding spatial relationships in images. To solve these limitations, we propose a Centripetal Intensive Deep Hashing (CIDH) method for remote sensing image retrieval. Initially, we design a Hybrid-Attention Guided Multiscale Refinement Network (HGMRN) that integrates channel and spatial attention to capture multiscale visual features and highlight salient regions at different scales. Subsequently, we introduce a central similarity loss via class-centered labels to optimize the spatial distribution of global samples, which can encourage hash codes with similar semantics to cluster around centroids and reduce distribution shift. Meanwhile, we incorporate a central intensive loss into the Hamming space to shorten intra-class Hamming distances, generating more compact and discriminative hash codes. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our CIDH method compared with current state-of-the-art deep hashing methods. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has turned the healthcare domain in a better direction due to more interconnected and smarter systems that enhance care delivery. Certainly, the IoT-accessible applications in these fields are only possible if devices, sensors, and real-time data are interconnected. Among today's marvels are remote patient monitoring, wearable health trackers, telemedicine, and smart hospital management. Medicine gets more personal, effective, and accessible due to these improvements. However, its development remains unmatched being faced with complexities such as security of personalized data, safety risks resolution, and seamless device-to-system integration. This paper examines the influential role of IoT in advanced healthcare systems, with its virtues, major applications, and implementation obstacles as the subject. The Internet of Things as a mode of health and technology bridging can entirely change how medicines are being practiced and even lead to the improvement of the lives of patients by introducing adaptive and efficient hospital systems. Thus, IoT can be a technology that balances tech and medicine for the betterment of patient treatment outcomes and make the system adaptive and efficient. © 2025 IEEE.

This study explores the use of cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles as artificial pinning centers to investigate flux pinning characteristics in the Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ ceramics. Polycrystalline samples with the composition (Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ)1−x(CoFe2O4)x, where x ranges from 0.000 to 0.010, are synthesized based on the solid-state formation. Structural and surface analyses reveal that the samples predominantly comprise superconducting phases, with volume fractions varying with x. An increase in x leads to a drop in the critical temperature (Tc). However, an improvement in the critical current density (Jc) is observed at x = 0.002, owing to the addition of CoFe2O4. The collective pinning theory indicates a shift from a single-vortex to small bundle vortex pinning at the crossover field (Bsb) in all samples. The dependence of Bsb on temperatures is consistent with δl pinning, attributed to changes in the mean free path of the charge carrier. Geometries of artificial pinning centers are identified as 2D using the Dew–Hughes model. CoFe2O4 nanoparticles are primarily located at the grain boundaries, filling voids and supporting pinning through grain boundaries. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

Desertification greatly affects land deterioration, farming efficiency, economic growth, and health, especially in Gulf nations. Climate change has worsened desertification, making developmental issues in the area even more difficult. This research presents an enhanced framework utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) for ongoing monitoring, data gathering, and analysis to evaluate desertification patterns. The framework utilizes Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) to categorize IoT data, while a low-latency processing method on edge computing platforms enables effective detection of desertification trends. The classified data is subsequently analyzed using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) optimized with a Genetic Algorithm (GA) for forecasting decisions. Using cloud computing infrastructure, the ANN-GA model examines intricate data connections to forecast desertification risk elements. Moreover, the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model is employed to predict desertification over varied time intervals. Experimental simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the suggested framework, attaining enhanced performance in essential metrics: Temporal Delay (103.68 s), Classification Efficacy—Sensitivity (96.44 %), Precision (95.56 %), Specificity (96.97 %), and F-Measure (96.69 %)—Predictive Efficiency—Accuracy (97.76 %) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) (1.95 %)—along with Reliability (93.73 %) and Stability (75 %). The results of classification effectiveness and prediction performance emphasize the framework's ability to detect high-risk zones and predict the severity of desertification. This innovative method improves the comprehension of desertification processes and encourages sustainable land management practices, reducing the socio-economic impacts of desertification and bolstering at-risk ecosystems. Border Gateway Protocol(BGP),as the standard inter-domain routing protocol,is a distance-vector dynamic routing protocol used for exchanging routing information between distributed Autonomous Systems(AS).BGP nodes,communicating in a distributed dynamic environment,face several security challenges,with trust being one of the most important issues in inter-domain *** research,which performs trust evaluation when exchanging routing information to suppress malicious routing behavior,cannot meet the scalability requirements of BGP *** this paper,we propose a blockchain-based trust model for inter-domain *** model achieves scalability by allowing the master node of an AS alliance to transmit the trust evaluation data of its member nodes to the *** BGP nodes can expedite the trust evaluation process by accessing a global view of other BGP nodes through the master node of their respective *** incorporate security service evaluation before direct evaluation and indirect recommendations to assess the security services that BGP nodes provide for themselves and prioritize to guarantee their security of routing *** forward the trust evaluation for neighbor discovery and prioritize the nodes with high trust as neighbor nodes to reduce the malicious exchange routing *** use simulation software to simulate a real BGP environments and employ a comparative experimental research approach to demonstrate the performance evaluation of our trust *** with the classical trust model,our trust model not only saves more storage overhead,but also provides higher security,especially reducing the impact of collusion attacks.

The Internet of Things (IoT) stands as a revolutionary leap in digital connectivity, envisioning a future network connecting billions of devices, seamlessly. Amidst the myriad benefits, there arises an intricate web of challenges, prominently centered around potential threats and data security implications. Recent cryptography techniques, such as DNA-based cryptography, 3D chaos-based cryptography, and optical cryptography, face challenges including large encryption times, high energy consumption, and suboptimal rather than optimal performance. Particularly, the burden of long encryption cycles strains the energy resources of typical low-power and compact IoT devices. These challenges render the devices vulnerable to unauthorized breaches, despite large storage capacities. The hallmark of the IoT ecosystem, characterized by its low-power compact devices, is the burgeoning volume of data they generate. This escalating data influx, while necessitating expansive storage, remains vulnerable to unauthorized access and breaches. Historically, encryption algorithms, with their multifaceted architectures, have been the bulwark against such intrusions. However, their inherently-complex nature, entailing multiple encryption cycles, strains the limited energy reserves of typical IoT devices. In response to this intricate dilemma, we present a hybrid lightweight encryption strategy. Our algorithm innovatively leverages both one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) chaotic key generators. Furthermore, it amalgamates a classical encryption philosophy, harmonizing the strengths of Feistel and substitution-permutation networks. The centerpiece of our strategy is achieving effective encryption in merely three rounds, tailored expressly for compressed Three-Dimensional Video (3DV) frames, ensuring their unwavering integrity. Seal authentication is an important task for verifying the authenticity of stamped seals used in various domains to protect legal documents from tampering and *** seal inspection is commonly audited manually to ensure document ***,manual assessment of seal images is tedious and laborintensive due to human errors,inconsistent placement,and completeness of the *** image recognition systems are inadequate enough to identify seal types accurately,necessitating a neural network-based method for seal image ***,neural network-based classification algorithms,such as Residual Networks(ResNet)andVisualGeometryGroup with 16 layers(VGG16)yield suboptimal recognition rates on stamp ***,the fixed training data categories make handling new categories to be a challenging *** paper proposes amulti-stage seal recognition algorithmbased on Siamese network to overcome these ***,the seal image is pre-processed by applying an image rotation correction module based on Histogram of Oriented Gradients(HOG).Secondly,the similarity between input seal image pairs is measured by utilizing a similarity comparison module based on the Siamese ***,we compare the results with the pre-stored standard seal template images in the database to obtain the seal *** evaluate the performance of the proposed method,we further create a new seal image dataset that contains two subsets with 210,000 valid labeled pairs in *** proposed work has a practical significance in industries where automatic seal authentication is essential as in legal,financial,and governmental sectors,where automatic seal recognition can enhance document security and streamline validation ***,the experimental results show that the proposed multi-stage method for seal image recognition outperforms state-of-the-art methods on the two established datasets.

This study delves into the significant role played by Quantum Dot Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (QD-SOAs) in meeting the ever-growing bandwidth demands. QD-SOAs offer a unique blend of cost-effectiveness, integration capabilities, wide bandwidth, rapid responsiveness, robust power output, stability, and spectral adaptability, driving notable advancements in optical communication systems. In this work, we introduce a novel two-wavelength amplifier structure based on Quantum Dot Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (QD-SOAs) that utilizes quantum dots of different sizes to achieve efficient amplification at specific mid-infrared wavelengths. This innovative approach, which incorporates quantum dots with varying sizes, enables enhanced performance by optimizing the amplification process for each specific wavelength. Furthermore, this work demonstrates the use of tailored optical pumping mechanisms that enhance the carrier recovery process and reduce carrier relaxation times in the active region. This novel optical pumping technique leads to a significant increase in the efficiency and speed of the amplifier, distinguishing this study from others in the field. Simulation results provide detailed insights into the complex interplay between carrier interactions and gain spectra, offering a comprehensive understanding of QD-SOA operational dynamics. The proposed Quantum Dot Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (QD-SOA) achieves significant advancements in optical communication, offering maximum amplification rates of 26.9 and 19.9 times for QD1 and QD2, respectively, and bandwidths of 12 THz and 15 THz. The study highlights the role of quantum dot size, homogeneous and inhomogeneous broadening, and optical pumping in enhancing gain and performance, demonstrating the potential of QD-SOAs for high-gain, wide-bandwidth applications in photonic systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Efficient energy management is a cornerstone of advancing cognitive cities,where AI,IoT,and cloud computing seamlessly integrate to meet escalating global energy *** this context,the ability to forecast electricity consumption with precision is vital,particularly in residential settings where usage patterns are highly variable and *** study presents an innovative approach to energy consumption forecasting using a bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)*** a dataset containing over twomillionmultivariate,time-series observations collected froma single household over nearly four years,ourmodel addresses the limitations of traditional time-series forecasting methods,which often struggle with temporal dependencies and non-linear *** bidirectional LSTM architecture processes data in both forward and backward directions,capturing past and future contexts at each time step,whereas existing unidirectional LSTMs consider only a single temporal *** design,combined with dropout regularization,leads to a 20.6%reduction in RMSE and an 18.8%improvement in MAE over conventional unidirectional LSTMs,demonstrating a substantial enhancement in prediction accuracy and *** to existing models—including SVM,Random Forest,MLP,ANN,and CNN—the proposed model achieves the lowest MAE of 0.0831 and RMSE of 0.2213 during testing,significantly outperforming these *** results highlight the model’s superior ability to navigate the complexities of energy usage patterns,reinforcing its potential application in AI-driven IoT and cloud-enabled energy management systems for cognitive *** integrating advanced machine learning techniqueswith IoT and cloud infrastructure,this research contributes to the development of intelligent,sustainable urban environments.
