Mathematical analysis of AMRes: unlocking enhanced recognition across audio-visual domains

This research presents AMRes (Adaptive Windowed Convolutional Neural Network and Multiple Residual Network), a novel method that demonstrates remarkable resilience against overfitting, even in scenarios with limited training data. With meticulous design comprising up to 19 convolutional layers, it enables deep learning models to effectively extract and analyze vital information from input data while preserving it through deep layers. Through rigorous mathematical and empirical validation, the proposed method exhibits adept handling of intra- and inter-speaker variability, efficient training with limited data, and potential applicability beyond speech recognition in image-related applications, showcasing its generality. This paper establishes a solid foundation for advancements in multi-faceted recognition systems. The proposed method excels at proficiently modeling speech signals and achieving highly accurate speech recognition. Thorough evaluations utilizing well-established databases such as Switchboard, Timit, and FarsDAT for speech, and MNIST for image data underscore the method's versatility and efficacy across diverse data contexts. Comparative analysis against state-of-the-art techniques in speech recognition demonstrates the propose method's competitive and often superior performance. Notably, this method significantly reduces phoneme recognition errors by approximately 8% on notable datasets. This research provides a solid foundation for advancing the field and highlights the proposed method's potential in improving recognition systems, encouraging further exploration. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Enterprise architecture takes a step in the path of digital transformation by providing a comprehensive system with an integrated view of the organization. In traditional methods, architects manually prepare enterprise architecture products. The manual methods of producing enterprise architecture products have many challenges. One of the main challenges is the production of volumes of documentation, the complexity and difficulty of making enterprise architecture artifacts, and their costly and error-prone nature. In response to these challenges, enterprise architecture mining is proposed, automatically producing outputs and artifacts of enterprise architecture instead of manual modeling. Surveys show that enterprise architecture analysis still needs to be mature, and full automation is still far away. Some methods may be successful in some layers, but reaching a method that automatically provides an integrated enterprise architecture model with sufficient accuracy remains the *** research will use model analysis methods to improve enterprise architecture mining. At first, the presented method extracts enterprise architecture models automatically. Detecting architecture smells reveals enterprise architecture debts in the next step. Ultimately, it improves the extracted models using refactoring methods. The proposed method can improve the accuracy and quality of the extracted models. © 2023 IEEE.

Avicenna: a challenge dataset for natural language generation toward commonsense syllogistic reasoning

Syllogism is a type of everyday reasoning. For instance, given that ‘Avicenna wrote the famous book the Canon of Medicine’ and ‘The Canon of Medicine has influenced modern medicine,’ it can be concluded that ‘Avicenna has influenced modern medicine.’ This study revolves around syllogistic natural language generation (NLG). The Avicenna corpus (https://***/ZeinabAghahadi/Syllogistic-Commonsense-Reasoning) was developed as a benchmark for syllogistic NLG. In this respect, once the syllogistic relation between two premises is recognised [Aghahadi, Z., & Talebpour, A. (2022). Language-based syllogistic reasoning using deep neural networks. Cognitive Semantics, 8(2)], the Avicenna-trained models learn to generate the conclusion sentence. The experiments were performed using state-of-the-art pre-trained text generative models and the accuracy was improved up to 32% when transfer learning was adopted. The model’s confusion in detecting the middle-term was one of the main categories of errors that showed up in the error analysis. This issue indicates that the model learns how to extract new facts based on the premises, but it faces a challenge in commonsense reasoning. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Reliability is defined as the system's ability to remain in its operational state after failure in some of its components. Moore and Shannon introduced a probabilistic model in which network nodes are assumed to be completely reliable, but communication links can fail with a specified and assumed probability like p. The main problem is to determine the probability that the said network will remain connected under these conditions. They proposed their reliability analysis on specific networks known as hammock networks. These networks are fitted to circuits with array structures such as FinFET, VSFET, MOSFET, NEMS, and carbon nanotubes. In this article, we leverage combinations of hammock networks to design and implement MOS-based transistors, specifically nMOS and pMOS. Our focus is on evaluating the reliability of 4:2 compressors designed using these networks. The resulting designs excel in terms of time efficiency, occupied area, and power consumption. Within this context, the compressor takes four inputs, intended for addition, and generates two outputs, referred to as sum and carry. Diverse circuit models can be configured for the compressor's internal circuit, each exhibiting differences in speed, power efficiency, and physical footprint. By employing simulation results, we extract several efficiency and reliability metrics for all networks and circuits, meticulously comparing and analyzing their reliability. © 2023 IEEE.

Aim/Purpose The aim of this study is to identify Critical Success Factors (CSF) of Business Intelligence (BI) and provide a framework to classify CSF into layers or perspectives using an enterprise architecture approach, then rank CSF within each perspective and evaluate the importance of each perspective at different BI maturity levels as well. Background Although the implementation of the BI project has a significant impact on creating analytical and competitive capabilities, the lack of evaluation of CSF holistically is still a challenge. Moreover, the BI maturity level of the organization has not been considered in the BI implementation project. Identifying BI critical success factors and their importance can help the project team to move to a higher maturity level in the organization. Methodology First, a list of distinct CSF is identified through a literature review. Second, a framework is provided for categorizing these CSF using enterprise architecture. Interviewing is the research method used to evaluate the importance of CSF and framework layers with two questionnaires among experts. The first questionnaire was done by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), a quantitative method of decision-making to calculate the weight of the CSF according to the importance of CSF in each of the framework layers. The second one was conducted to evaluate framework layers at different BI maturity levels using a Likert scale. Contribution This paper contributes to the implementation of BI projects by identifying a comprehensive list of CSF in the form of a holistic multi-layered framework and ranking the importance of CSF and layers at BI maturity levels. Findings The most important CSF in BI implementation projects include senior management support, process identification, data quality, analytics quality, hardware quality, security standards, scope management, documentation, project team skills, and customer needs transformation, which received the highest scores in framework

L-Atur is a web application start-up that produces highly customizable generative designs for consumers at affordable prices. It uses L-Systems as its vital core to generate a wide range of designs. L-Systems can provide numerous visual responses to the creative exploration of our users. Consumers would be able to design their desired products without any coding or professional design skills. The human and machine collaborative nature of L-Atur helps them to explore creative opportunities while we consider technical limitations to physically produce their designs. This article covers the design, implementation, mathematical modelling, and control of a multivariable, underactuated, low-cost, three-degrees-of-freedom experimental helicopter system (namely a 3-DOF helicopter). The system is considered an essential benchmark for the development and evaluation of control algorithms and identification methods as it mimics real helicopters and UAVs. The system is multivariable and difficult to control due to its underactuation characteristics. In addition, it presents further challenges in modelling and control analysis in terms of high nonlinearity, coupling, uncertainty, and unmodeled dynamics. In this scene, the system is designed, developed, and operated virtually in SolidWorks using the necessary hardware and software. A new accurate multivariable coupled nonlinear mathematical model is derived and proposed. The model takes into account the complex dynamics and interactions between the system components, providing a more comprehensive representation of the real system compared to previous models. System parameters are then identified using the Sum of the Square Error (SSE) algorithm, and the mathematical model is compared to the practical results in many different scenarios via Simulink. Experimental tests confirmed the mathematical model and robust performance of the implemented experimental 3-DOF helicopter system, as well as the ability of the proposed controller to stabilize the helicopter and track different trajectories in the presence of uncertainties and cross-coupling effects. © 2013 IEEE.

Semantic web capabilities can improve the potential of eLearning systems and applications. Semantic annotation as a main step of semantic web techniques can be used in creating metadata for eLearning resources to foster adaptive eLearning systems. This paper proposes a semantic annotation approach to enrich educational content with some related concepts in the DBpedia repository. In this approach, unknown concepts in educational content are extracted through applying natural language processing, statistical analysis, and domainspecific ontology. Each extracted concept is linked to the DBpedia relevant concept and for further explanation, the DBpedia subgraph of related concepts is attached. Navigating the DBpedia graph and applying a context matching technique, we can find some relevant concepts in the offline phase. The proposed approach is applied on the set of eLearningdomain documents extracted from the SlideShare repository. Generated results show the acceptable system precision and recall. Our approach is generic;it can be used in any educational content related to any domain. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, a planning method to autonomously navigate a wheeled-robot based on deep reinforcement learning is proposed. The planning algorithm aims at reaching a predetermined target configuration while avoiding obstacles. It is assumed that the robot chassis is differential-drive and it is equipped with multiple distance sensors to perceive the environment and Global Positioning System (GPS) for localization. A Deterministic Actor-Critic model is designed to navigate the robot in an environment including multiple obstacles. Since navigation is a multi-objective optimization problem, a novel reward function considering different contradicted criteria including reaching the target and avoiding the obstacles is proposed in this paper. To improve the performance and convergence of the learning method, a gradual learning method is applied to first learn target reaching and next obstacle avoidance. The effect of the proposed reward function is compared with some other reward functions to show its effectiveness. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years there has been a special interest in word embeddings as an approach to convert words to vectors. It has been a focal point to understand how much of the semantics of the words has been transferred into embedding vectors. Intrinsic evaluation of word embeddings is cheaper than evaluating them extrinsically and it is usually costly to evaluate the downstream application end-to-end in order to determine the quality of the used embedding model. Generally the word embeddings are evaluated through a number of tests, including analogy test. In this paper we propose a test framework for Persian embedding models. Persian is a low resource language and there is no rich semantic benchmark to evaluate word embedding models for this language. In this paper we introduce an evaluation framework including a hand crafted Persian SAT based analogy dataset, a colliquial test set (specific to Persian) and a benchmark to study the impact of various parameters on the semantic evaluation task. © 2022 IEEE.
