Reversible Data Hiding Scheme for Images Using Gray Code Pixel Value Optimization

Steganography is a technique that allows confidential data to be delivered securely by embedding the data into cover digital media. In this paper, we propose a simple steganography method for cover gray images with high embedding capacity. The secret pixels are not directly embedded into the cover image by a k -bit LSB substitution method with k in the range [1, 4], but can be extracted from stego image by calculating the Canonical Gray Code (CGC) for the correct number of LSBs known only to sender and receiver. The bit embedding process is performed to minimize the influence of the embedded bits on the pixel intensity of the stego-image and limit the possibility of human perception to follow the distortions of the original *** effect was achieved by considering virtual embedding of secret bits in canonical Gray code (CGC) calculated for the desired number of n bits ( k < n ≤ 8) and optimally adjusting the CGC code to the embedded secret bits, and to the original pixel value of the cover image. The paper, in its experimental part, compares the effectiveness of the proposed method with other techniques. For the results verification, peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), mean square error (MSE), and structural similarity index (SSIM) are calculated.

In the domain of medical imaging, ensuring the security of confidential patient data stands as a paramount concern. The imperative for robust encryption to safeguard medical images against unauthorized access has driven the widespread adoption of the RSA algorithm, celebrated for its efficacy in data security assurance. This study specifically centers on the deployment of RSA-1024 cryptography on an Artix-7 FPGA, targeting applications in medical imaging. Acknowledging the demand for heightened security and accelerated processing, we have engineered RSA crypto-accelerators as hardware implementations of the RSA algorithm. We present a comprehensive methodology for implementing the 1024-bit RSA encryption/decryption algorithm, leveraging the square and multiply technique for modular exponentiation. Our algorithms are meticulously instantiated through VHDL code, tailored for execution on the Artix-7 xc7a35tcsg324-1 FPGA manufactured by Xilinx. Rigorous testing using the Vivado 2022.2 tool validates the functionality and dependability of our design. This research underscores the pivotal role of advanced cryptographic methodologies in safeguarding medical images and underscores the strides made in FPGA-based security solutions.

Owing to its simplicity and having no control parameters, the Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) has attracted much attention among researchers. Although useful, the SCA algorithm adopts a linear magnitude update to determine its sine or cosine position updates. In the actual searching process, the magnitude update is rarely linear. In fact, the magnitude update is also non-exponential and is highly dependent on the problem domain and its search topology. For this reason, our work proposes a combination of linear and exponential magnitude update for the search displacement. In doing so, we adopt the combinatorial testing problem as our case study. Combinatorial testing strategies generate test data which cover all required interactions among parameter values of a system-under-test in order to explore interaction faults. Our evaluation gives promising results on the improved performance over the original SCA algorithm. As far as test data generation time is concerned, the enhanced SCA outperformed all its counterparts, whereas its results in terms of test suite sizes are comparable to other parameter free meta-heuristic algorithms. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The Mars method approach in the analysis of earthquake hazard predictions in Sumbawa

Sumbawa Island is part of the territory of Indonesia which is in the position of three active earth plates which of course will have an impact on frequent earthquakes and the risk of earthquake hazards. Research on earthquakes in general has been done a lot, but especially on the island of Sumbawa there are still few who do research on the dangers of earthquakes. Earthquake research has uncertain parameters and to obtain optimal results an appropriate method is needed. In general, some predictive data mining methods are grouped into two categories, namely Parametric and Non-Parametric. This study uses a non-parametric method with MARS. There are two stages of MARS completion, namely Forward Stepwise and Backward Stepwise algorithms. The results of this study after testing the parameters and analysis obtained a mathematical model with 11 basis functions (BF) that contribute to the response variable, namely the basis function (BF) 1,2,3,4,5,7,9, and 11. not contributing are BF 6.8, and 10. The predictor variables that have the greatest influence are 100 % Epicenter Distance and 73.8% Magnitude. It can be concluded that the results of the prediction analysis of the areas in Sumbawa that have the highest earthquake hazard are Mapin Kebak, Mapin Rea, Panjang Island and Saringi Island.

Previous studies shown that about 90% of traffic accidents are due to human causes, which means that human factors may affect a driver's braking behaviors and thus their driving safety, especially when the driver makes a braking motion. However, most of the relevant studies have mounted sensors on the brake pad, ignoring to some extent the analysis of the driver's behavior before the brake pad is pressed (Pre-braking). Therefore, to determine the effect of different human factors on the driver's pre-braking behaviors in details, this study focused on analyzing drivers' body actions by motion capture device and using the Hilbert-Huang Transform method to decompose the realistic complex pre-braking actions to sub-actions IMF1 and IMF2. Analyzing results shown that IMF1 is a common and necessary action when pre-braking for all drivers, but IMF2 is more likely to be a redundant action during pre-braking which almost exclusively were observed in people with specific physique size (knee height 50cm). Moreover, different driving experience and gender may affect the timing of such redundant actions appearing. The results of this study will be useful in decomposing and discerning the specific actions that lead to accidents, provide useful insights into driver training for novice drivers and provide guidance for the construction of daily automated drive-er assistance or accident prevention systems (advanced driver assistance systems ADASs). © 2022, The Authors. Internet of Things (IoT) has grown in popularity in all spheres of life. Environmental issues in the modern era present a major concern for researchers, scientists and government. In combating the environmental issues, monitoring, identifying and quantifying different contaminating parameters in the environment are necessary, and for this purpose, IoT technology can be extremely useful. In this paper, we propose an IoT-based environmental monitoring system that operates on a four-layer architecture wherein environmental data are captured by a sensor network, aggregated and then communicated to a web server via a cloud service. Then, these data are analyzed by various analytical IoT specific tools and then delivered to the applications for further processing. The need for software improvement is growing widely due to the demand for technology development. The issues that arise by expanding the software processes in the workplace are expense, lack of understanding, time constrained, and lack user experience. This research paper focuses on proposing a framework for integrating design thinking into software process improvement. The secret to project success may lie in fusing methodological and reusable approaches with human-centric techniques. A mixed-methods research strategy is proposed to compile thorough information and reach conclusions. Nowadays autonomous driving is expected to revolutionize the transportation sector. Carmakers, researchers, and administrators have been working on this field for years and significant progress has been made. However, the doubts and challenges to overcome are still huge, regarding not only complex technologies but also human awareness, culture, current traffic infrastructure. In terms of technical perspective, the accurate detection of obstacles, avoiding adjacent obstacles, and automatic navigation through the environment are some of the difficult problems. In this paper, an approach for solving those problems is proposed by using of Policy Gradient to control a simulated car via reinforcement learning. The proposed method is worked effectively to train an agent to control the simulated car in Unity ML-agents Highway, which is a simulating environment. This environment is chosen from some criteria of an environment simulating autonomous vehicle. The testing of the proposed method got positive results. Beside the average speed was well, the agent successfully learned the turning operation, progressively gaining the ability to navigate larger sections of the simulated raceway without crashing.
