Non-Intrusive speech quality assessment (NISQA) has gained significant attention for predicting speech’s mean opinion score (MOS) without requiring the reference speech. Researchers have gradually started to apply NISQA to various practical scenarios. However, little attention has been paid to the security of NISQA models. Backdoor attacks represent the most serious threat to deep neural networks (DNNs) due to the fact that backdoors possess a very high attack success rate once embedded. However, existing backdoor attacks assume that the attacker actively feeds samples containing triggers into the model during the inference phase. This is not adapted to the specific scenario of NISQA. And current backdoor attacks on regression tasks lack an objective metric to measure the attack performance. To address these issues, we propose a novel backdoor triggering approach (EventTrojan) that utilizes an event during the usage of the NISQA model as a trigger. Moreover, we innovatively provide an objective metric for backdoor attacks on regression tasks. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the EventTrojan attack. Besides, it also has good resistance to several defense methods.

Images captured in haze conditions, especially at nighttime with low light, often suffer from degraded visibility, contrasts, and vividness, which makes it difficult to carry out the following vision tasks. In this article, we propose an attention-based feature fusion network (AFF-Dehazing) for low-light image dehazing. Our method decomposes the low-light image dehazing into two task-independent streams containing four modules: image dehazing module, low-light feature extractor module, feature fusion module, and image restoration module. The basic block of these modules is the proposed attention-based residual dense block. Since the dual-branch are used, AFF-Dehazing can avoid learning the mixed degradation all-in-one and enhance the details of low-light haze images. Extensive experiments show that our method surpasses previous state-of-the-art image dehazing methods and low-light enhancement methods by a very large margin both quantitatively and qualitatively. © 2021 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Every year technology continues to develop, especially in the field of animal husbandry. As demonstrated by the 3.6% increase in chicken consumption in developing nations, it is predicted that both poultry production and consumption will rise between 2005 until 2030. As a result, the chicken business needs to be able to fulfill customer demand. Poultry, particularly chickens, are sensitive to changes in temperature, humidity, and ammonia gas inside the coop, all of which can make the chickens sick. As a result, research is being done to create a server system and develop a framework utilizing IoT technologies. By utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology, efficiency in monitoring and controlling chickens can increase production. There are many farmers who still use traditional methods, especially small and medium-scale farmers. This system increases the level of measurement accuracy in the chicken coop using five modules and the device used is flexible so that farmers can move it and place it anywhere. using this system, farmers can manage chicken farming more effectively and measurably, which farmers can manage simply by monitoring via a website that can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

Federated learning (FL) has been widely used for privacy-preserving model updates in Industry 5.0, facilitated by 6G networks. Despite FL's privacy-preserving advantages, it remains vulnerable to attacks where adversaries can infer private data from local models or manipulate the central server (CS) to deliver falsified global models. Current privacy-preserving approaches, primarily based on the FedAvg algorithm, fail to optimize training efficiency for non-independent and identically distributed (non-IID) data. This article proposes training-efficient and verifiable aggregation (TEVA) for FL to resolve these issues. This scheme combines threshold Paillier homomorphic encryption (TPHE), verifiable aggregation, and an optimized double momentum update mechanism (OdMum). TEVA not only leverages TPHE to protect the privacy of local models but also ensures the integrity of the global model through a verifiable aggregation mechanism. Additionally, TEVA integrates the OdMum algorithm to effectively address the challenges posed by non-IID data, promoting rapid model convergence and significantly enhancing overall training efficiency. Security analysis indicates that TEVA meets the requirements for privacy protection. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that TEVA can accelerate model convergence while incurring lower computational and communication overheads. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Presently, the global proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and applications has accelerated owing to their advantages in enhancing the business and industrial environment, as well as the daily lives of individuals. Nevertheless, IoT devices are vulnerable to malevolent network traffic, which can lead to undesirable outcomes and disrupt the operation of IoT devices. Consequently, it is imperative to devise a screening method for network traffic to identify and categorize malicious activity and reduce its harmful effects. In this regard, the present study proposes a framework and thoroughly compares single and ensemble machine learning models that are using predictive analytics to detect and classify network activity in an IoT network. Specifically, our framework and models distinguish between normal and anomalous network activity. Furthermore, network traffic is classified into eight categories, normal, denial of service (DoS) attack, Scan attack, Data Type Probing, Malicious Operation, Malicious Control, Spying attack and Wrong Setup based attack. The special focus of this paper is in identifying privacy related attacks in comparison with main cybersecurity related ones. Several supervised machine learning models have been herein implemented to characterize their performance in detecting and classifying network activities for IoT Networks based on the ensemble learning framework as well as on the single learning machines framework. Moreover, classifiers based on the statistical learning theory framework are herein involved too, including hybrid Bayesian theory models, decision trees (DT) and the ordinal Learning Modelling approach. The statistical pattern recognition based models as well as all supervised learning machines models have been evaluated on a broad benchmark dataset for IoT attacks. Designing and simulating a network infrastructure for multi-branch organizations is essential for ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient operations. This paper addresses the challenges faced by organizations in maintaining consistent and reliable network connectivity across multiple locations, including managing network traffic, ensuring security, and optimizing resource allocation while keeping costs under control. The study presents a comprehensive methodology involving the conceptualization of network ideas, designing the network architecture, adding necessary devices and tools, configuring these devices according to the network topology, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance. Key elements such as VLANs, routers, switches, and routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, and EIGRP are incorporated, with the entire design and simulation conducted using Cisco Packet Tracer. The findings demonstrate that full connectivity between headquarters and branch sites can be achieved within a budget of $40,000. This paper provides a practical guide for implementing similar network projects, emphasizing the importance of detailed configurations and troubleshooting steps, and recommends adopting this methodology to enhance network infrastructure efficiently and cost-effectively.

This paper introduces OpenLS-DGF, an adaptive logic synthesis dataset generation framework, to enhance machine learning (ML) applications within the logic synthesis process. Previous dataset generation flows were tailored for specific tasks or lacked integrated ML capabilities. While OpenLS-DGF supports various machine learning tasks by encapsulating the three fundamental steps of logic synthesis: Boolean representation, logic optimization, and technology mapping. It preserves the original information in both Verilog and ML-friendly GraphML formats. The Verilog files offer semi-customizable capabilities, enabling researchers to insert additional steps and incrementally refine the generated dataset. Furthermore, OpenLS-DGF includes an adaptive circuit engine that facilitates the final dataset management and downstream tasks. The generated OpenLS-D-v1 dataset comprises 46 combinational designs from established benchmarks, totaling over 966,000 Boolean circuits. OpenLS-D-v1 supports integrating new data features, making it more versatile for new tasks. This paper demonstrates the versatility of OpenLS-D-v1 through four distinct downstream tasks: circuit classification, circuit ranking, quality of results (QoR) prediction, and probability prediction. Each task is chosen to represent essential steps of logic synthesis, and the experimental results show the generated dataset from OpenLSDGF achieves prominent diversity and applicability. Voice of dogs can be heard by people who listen to them. The more you listen, the more you learn about the dogs. This study proposes a platform to identify and observe dogs' behavior and their activities by using the newest technologies. The proposed system will mainly cover the relevant areas that are supposed to be covered to full fill the pet owners' expectations by providing necessary services such as internal health, voice recognition, and emotion translations and external issues such as skin diseases, breeding patterns, and breeding outcomes. Our priority is to emphasize necessary services in the mobile application and provide fluid services with fewer interruptions. Primarily research will offer an IoT device and a mobile application that covers the dog's internal health and external health consecutively. The study revealed current developments and the challenges and possibilities related to the system. © 2021 IEEE.

A comparative analysis of machine learning algorithms to build a predictive model for detecting diabetes complications

Diabetes complications have a significant impact on patients’ quality of life. The objective of this study was to predict which patients were more likely to be in a complicated health condition at the time of admission to allow for the early introduction of medical interventions. The data were 644 electronic health records from Alsukari Hospital collected from January 2018 to April 2019. We used the following machine learning methods: logistic regression, random forest, and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). The logistic regression algorithm performed better than the other algorithms achieving an accuracy of 81%, recall of 81%, and F1 score of 75%. Also, attributes such as infection years, swelling, diabetic ketoacidosis, and diabetic septic foot were significant in predicting diabetes complications. This model can be useful for the identification of patients requiring additional care to limit the complications and help practitioners in making decisions on whether the patient should be hospitalized or sent home. Furthermore, we used the sequential feature selection (SFS) algorithm which reduced the features to six, which is fewer than any model built before to predict diabetes complications. The primary goal of this study was achieved. The model had fewer attributes which means we have a simple and understandable model in addition to, it has a better performance. © 2021 Slovene Society Informatika. All rights reserved.

The rapid expansion and advancement of deepfake technology, which is specifically designed to create incredibly lifelike facial imagery and video content, has ignited a remarkable level of interest and curiosity across a multitude of fields, including but not limited to the realms of the entertainment industry, forensic analysis, cybersecurity and the innovative creation of digital characters. By harnessing the latest breakthroughs in deep learning methodologies, especially through the implementation of techniques such as Generative Adversarial Networks, Variational Autoencoders, Few-Shot Learning Strategies, and Transformer Neural Networks, the outcomes achieved in the generation of deepfakes have been nothing short of astounding and transformative. Furthermore, the recent advancements in diffusion models have served to invigorate and catalyze ongoing research efforts in this fascinating domain. At the same time, the ongoing evolution of detection technologies is being developed to counteract the potential for misuse associated with deepfakes, effectively addressing critical concerns that range from political manipulation to the dissemination of fake news and the ever-growing issue of cyberbullying. This comprehensive review paper meticulously investigates the most recent developments in both deepfake generation and detection, including around 400 publications, providing an in-depth analysis of the cutting-edge innovations that are shaping this rapidly evolving landscape. Starting with a thorough examination of systematic literature review methodologies, we embark on a journey that delves into the complex technical intricacies inherent in the various techniques used for deepfake generation, comprehensively addressing the challenges faced, potential solutions available, and the nuanced details surrounding manipulation formulations.
