A trajectory generator based on vehicle kinematics model was presented and an integrated navigation simulation system was *** that the tight relation between vehicle motion and topography,a new trajectory generator for vehicle was proposed for more actual ***,a vehicle kinematics model was built based on conversion of attitude vector in different coordinate ***,the principle of common trajectory generators was ***,combining the vehicle kinematics model with the principle of dead reckoning,a new vehicle trajectory generator was presented,which can provide process parameters of carrier anytime and achieve simulation of typical actions of running ***,IMU(inertial measurement unit) elements were simulated,including accelerometer and *** setting up the simulation conditions,the integrated navigation simulation system was verified by final performance *** result proves the validity and flexibility of this design.

With the rapid growth of wireless technologies and increasing number of mobile digital devices, mobility has been an important element on the Internet. NEMO Basic Support, designed by the Internet engineering Task Force (IETF) to provide network mobility, is not efficient to offer low latency handoff in the case of nested mobile networks because it produces a long transfer delay and excessively large packet sizes due to non-optimal routes and multiple encapsulations. This paper presents a route optimization scenario for nested mobile network using hierarchical structure with Binding Update Tree (BUT). This scheme should reduce packet overhead, handoff latency, packet transmission delay, and achieve optimal routing. © 2012 IEEE.

Fault detection methodology is a crucial part in providing a scalable, dependable and high availability of grid computing environment. The most popular technique that used in detecting fault is heartbeat mechanism where it monitors the grid resources in a very short interval. However, the heartbeat mechanism-based technique for fault detection suffers from weaknesses of either fast detection with low accuracy or completeness in detecting failures with a lengthy timeout. In this paper, we propose Affirmative Adaptive Failure Detection (AAFD). In this technique, the integration of newly proposed failure detection algorithm and the ping service is essential not only for dynamically improving certainty level of accuracy, but it is also very significant in verifying the aliveness of a site for strong completeness failure detection and reduces waiting time. The model outperforms the existing techniques by 18% to 39% in term of algorithm performance. On the average, AAFD detection is about 30% better than other detection algorithms. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

This paper presents an analysis of parasitic capacitances in resonant rectifier which has significant impact on the operating point of the resonance circuit, which the junction capacitance is to decrease the resonant current and DC output voltage in the circuit at switching frequency less than resonant frequency. This can be represented by simplified series resonant equivalent circuit and voltage transfer function versus normalized operating frequency at varied values of resonant capacitor. The step-up resonant push-pull DC-DC converter was used as design example. The design procedure is based on the principle of the half bridge class-DE resonant rectifier. All power switches are operated under the zero-voltage switching conditions, resulting in higher overall system efficiency. The prototype of resonant DC-DC converter was operated at 62-88 kHz variable frequency, the input voltage of 12-V_(DC), the output voltage of 380-V_(DC) and the output power rated of 150 W. The experimental results have shown that 92.97% efficiency at full power. The experimental results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis.

The paper presents a case report of the therapy by neurofeedback training of a chronic female schizophrenia outpatient. The purpose of the neurofeedback training was to enhance cognition, memory and behavioral performance. We used an intensive approach. All the training sessions were performed during 4 consecutive days. The results showed that the patient learnt to increase individual alpha amplitude and simultaneously decrease beta2 (20-30 Hz) amplitude at P4 site during active state over sessions. The individual alpha increased 74.73% and beta2 decreased 13.73%. The short term memory was enhanced after training. Her mood had positive change and her speech was much clearer than before. She started to associate the meaning of her life and illness. These results support that neurofeedback is not only a feasible therapy for schizophrenia but also positive results could be obtained using a much more intensive training sessions than the one reported in the literature. © 2012 IEEE.

Globally mathematics is a challenging subject. However, some parties wanted mathematics to be learnt using IT in a Diploma Information Technology program in UTHM Johor for example. The objective of this paper is to prove whether mathematics IT used in a road traffic engineering case study could help the students’ understanding. Methodology used was quantitative as data on traffic flow was collected. There is a 0.58 Pearson correlation between the speed of cars with fatal accident cases and the marks from Mathematics final semester paper had improved besides the overall improvement to safer road traffic around Parit Raja vicinity.

Robots are expected to play an important role in social welfare and service for older citizens. These robots are required to be able to smoothly coexist and cooperate with humans. Therefore, these robots should generate embodied interactions for greetings in order to elicit a feeling of relief. In the greeting interaction using arms between a human and a robot, the timing of an utterance of a voice greeting and a hand motion is important to consider for the synchronization of the embodied rhythms and impressions of humans. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the timing of an utterance of a voice greeting and a hand motion preferred by humans in greeting interactions between a human and a robot. Initially, a hand-up motion and a handshake motion between humans, which are greeting interactions without and with contact, are analyzed. Based on the analysis, an interaction robot system capable of generating the hand-up motion and handshake motion for a greeting interaction with a human is developed. Subsequently, using the developed interaction robot system, the differences of motion characteristics between greeting interactions with and without contact preferred by humans are analyzed by an analysis-by-synthesis technique. © 2012 IADIS.

Humans often greet one another using a handshake, a common gesture of friendship. In the case of a human and a robot, the robot can smoothly begin to communicate and coexist with humans without feelings of aversion in humans;if it generates a handshake motion that is emotionally acceptable to humans. Thus, we have proposed a handshake request motion model and a handshake respond motion model to generate a handshake approaching motion prior to actually shaking hands with the human. In the handshake request motion model, the robot stretches its hand out to a human to request a handshake. In the handshake respond motion model, the robot responds a handshake when the human requests a handshake. The effectiveness of these models is demonstrated by experiments using a handshake robot system which is fabricated based on the average size of a human arm. Therefore, in this paper, we develop a small-size handshake robot system that uses the handshake request motion model and the handshake respond motion model to generate a handshake approaching motion with a human. The effectiveness of the robot system is demonstrated by sensory evaluation. Furthermore, a handshake motion between robots is realized by using two small-size handshake robot systems which are adopted these models. © 2012 IEEE.

Current research efforts are being directed to commit with the long-term view of self-management properties for wireless telecommunications. One of the key approaches that have been recognized as an enabler of such a view is policy-based management. Policy-based management has been mostly acknowledged as a methodology that provides flexibility, scalability, adaptability and support to automatically assign network resources, control Quality of Service and security, by considering administratively specified rules. The hype of policy-based management was to commit with these features in run-time as a result of changeable network conditions resulting from the interactions of users, applications and existing resources. To detect and resolve potential static and dynamic conflicts between the rules and configurations from different administrative domains, a policy-based manager coordination PobMC framework which is based on Event- Condition-Action (ECA) is proposed in this paper. The framework is responsible of potential conflicts between applications included in the system. Furthermore, the paper provides a guideline to avoid policy conflicts between different domains configurations, and resolve the conflicts during runtime. PobMC depends on, static and dynamic analysis to reduce potential conflicts. The paper briefly outlines some of the most prominent research issues that have been discussed for large-scale adoption of policy-based systems. Then we present a description of the conflict detection and resolution algorithms that achieves the automated enforcement of obligations for resource-handling based on management policies. © 2005 - 2012 JATIT & LLS. The metallic waveguide is one of many effective media for millimeter- and submillimeter-waves because of the advantage of its lowloss nature. This paper describes the fabrication method of PTFE-filled waveguide components with the use of the SR (synchrotron radiation) direct etching process of PTFE, sputter deposition of metal, and electroplating. PTFE is known as a difficult material to process with high precision. However, it has been reported that PTFE microstructures can be fabricated by the direct exposure to SR. First, an iris-coupled waveguide BPF with 5-stage Chebyshev response is designed and fabricated for the Q-band. It is demonstrated that the present process is applicable for the fabrication of the practical components inclusive of narrow patterns. Then, a cruciform 3 dB coupler with air-filled posts is designed and fabricated for the Q-band. Directivity and matched state of the coupler can be realized by "holes" in the dielectric material.
