The expeditious growth of the wearable and implantable body sensors and wireless communication technologies have provided both inspiration and motivation for increasingly development of m-healthcare information systems as a promising next generation e-health system. In m-healthcare systems, the authorized mobile patients with the same disease symptoms can constitute a social group to share their health condition and medical experience. The privacy of social communication transferred over open wireless channels is an essential system requirement. Furthermore, the m-healthcare system on contrary to the traditional e-Health system allows mobile patients to move across distinguished location domains during different time periods. The mobility of patients considerably increases the cost of key management in terms of communication overhead if it is addressed with a naïve solution such as treating as a leave in the old location and a new join in the visited location. This paper proposes a privacy-preserving scheme, which maintains the secrecy of patients’ personal health information using secure group communication in m-healthcare information systems while supporting mobility of patients. The scheme is highly scalable, and treats patients’ mobility with the minimum rekeying cost, as such efficiently preserve secrecy of communication between patients associated with a social group. The security properties of the proposed scheme as well as its performance based on simulation experiments are evaluated. This research introduces the distributed ledger technology (blockchain) in terms of sustainable development in the future. This study is based on private, public and global communications in various industries. The growing demands for secure and decentralized transactions around the world demonstrate the need for Blockchain technology as a medium of operations and communications. The blockchain system is completely decentralized and allows users to exchange messages in an efficient and secure manner. The highlight of the paper is the anticipated future use of blockchain networks as a communication tool in every business and digital economy for a safe and sustainable development, while presenting its advantages and limitations that have been confirmed based on the experiences of various experts. Moreover, the article provides recommendations for the use of blockchain to greatly complicate its identification in future communications. The paper also concludes that the use of the blockchain system could be beneficial and enhance future communications and digital technologies. © 2021 IEEE.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a type of dementia that leads to memory loss and impairment, which afects patients’ lives badly. It is not curable yet, but its progression can be slowed down if detected at earlier stages. In this research study, we propose a transfer learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) model to classify magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into one of four stages of Alzheimer's disease. One of the major limitations of the deep learning-based classification model is the non-availability of healthcare datasets related to AD. The widely used Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset has a major class imbalance issue. We propose a generative adversarial network (GAN) based data augmentation technique to overcome the data imbalance. This promotes the investigation of applying GANs to generate synthetic samples for minority classes in Alzheimer's disease datasets to enhance classification performance. The results show the progression in the overall classification process of AD.

This research investigates the feasibility of school-based learning using Virtual Reality technology in Electric Power Generation learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research employs a qualitative approach. Vocational High School Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo is the site of this study. Data was gathered through observation, literature review, and interviews. In the Electrical engineering section, interviews were conducted with a teaching instructor. Triangulation was used to investigate the data's authenticity, in addition to further interviews with the curriculum staff and instructors at the school. The teacher's assessment of learning media using Virtual Reality application technology shows valid criteria with an average value of 3.6. In comparison, after using the Virtual Reality application learning media, the assessment of students obtained an average value of 3.77 compared to conventional assessments with an interval of 2.71. The use of Virtual Reality technology has proven that it can help and facilitate student learning. The use of technologies of Virtual Reality as a means of learning in classrooms will also be an alternate option for virtual laboratories during the COVID-19 pandemic. © 2021 IEEE.

With the rapid development of the satellite industry, the information transmission network based on communication satellites has gradually become a major and important part of the future satellite ground integration network. However, the low transmission efficiency of the satellite data relay back mission has become a problem that is currently constraining the construction of the system and needs to be solved urgently. Effectively planning the task of satellite ground networking by reasonably scheduling resources is crucial for the efficient transmission of task data. In this paper, we hope to provide a task execution scheme that maximizes the profit of the networking task for satellite ground network planning considering feeding mode (SGNPFM). To solve the SGNPFM problem, a mixed-integer planning model with the objective of maximizing the gain of the link-building task is constructed, which considers various constraints of the satellite in the feed-switching mode. Based on the problem characteristics, we propose a distance similarity-based genetic optimization algorithm (DSGA), which considers the state characteristics between the tasks and introduces a weighted Euclidean distance method to determine the similarity between the tasks. To obtain more high-quality solutions, different similarity evaluation methods are designed to assist the algorithm in intelligently screening individuals. The DSGAalso uses an adaptive crossover strategy based on similarity mechanism, which guides the algorithm to achieve efficient population search. In addition, a task scheduling algorithm considering the feed-switching mode is designed for decoding the algorithm to generate a highquality scheme. The results of simulation experiments show that the DSGA can effectively solve the SGNPFM problem. Humans always face problems when it comes to medical check-up due to lack of time or laziness. However, lots of medical problems and fatal illnesses can be detected at earlier stages if the person is subject to continuous check-up. Hence, the idea of the proposed system is to design a tool enabling the measurement of the basic vital signs with the smallest effort possible from the person's side. Thus, this paper proposes a smart medical mirror system that acts as a normal mirror and also delivers the basic vital signs of the user such as the heart rate, SPO2, body temperature, and Body Mass Index (BMI). The system takes five seconds for initialization and starts the measurements and displays the results. The user will not lose time as this check-up can be performed every morning while the person is wearing his clothes and getting ready to start his daily activities. The system was tested by multiple users having different body statuses. The recorded values showed very small differences with the exact ones. At the end, the system was able to meet the user specifications concerning its portability, sensitivity, accuracy and, most importantly, its low cost. © 2020 IEEE.

The aquaculture industry has witnessed a significant surge in technological integration over the past decade, leveraging advancements in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance production efficiency. Monitoring the growth of aquatic cultures, such as fishes and prawns, plays a pivotal role in optimizing production. However, traditional methods, notably in prawn aquaculture in Asia, still heavily rely on stress-inducing techniques like netting and manual measurements. This paper proposes a novel approach using YOLO-based detection algorithm with biocode reference point based on the ArUco design to predict prawn size based on the length and are dimension to analysed the improvement in predicting the size. The propose solution is compared extensively using statistical tests against segmentation model with and without fine-tuning. Initial results show that both YOLOv8 segmentation and YOLOv8 with Segment Anything Model (SAM) give similar results with the actual mean length of 15.7 cm and predicted mean lengths are 20.5 cm and 20.8 cm respectively. However, after fine-tuning the parameter, the accuracy of predicted results improved significantly with 15.8 cm for YOLOv8 segmentation and 16 cm for YOLOv8 with SAM. The mean absolute error of 0.93 cm for YOLOv8 segmentation and 1.10 cm for YOLOv8 with SAM, and the width of 0.48 cm and 0.78 cm respectively.

Many companies have opted for the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in their business processes, in order to achieve their corporate goals and obtain excellent results, but this has not always been achieved. The objective of this study was to present the prototype of a model that can align corporate strategies with ICT, in an Ecuadorian company. The quantitative approach was applied and the deductive method and exploration were used to analyze the information of articles and scientific. The result was a model that aligns ICT with corporate strategies in which a table was included with indicators of alignment between ICT and business strategy classified according to the strategic leadership style of the company for decision making, it was applied under the framework of Miles and Snow, in addition to the evaluation of the strategies, was effective using the Saaty scale and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method applied for making objective decisions. It was concluded that the strategic alignment was achieved when the Scope of the Planning with the ICT Scope, under the Miles and Snow framework, the Analytical Hierarchy Process method was also applied, where a value of 0.08 for CR was obtained, which indicates that it is within the acceptable and consistent, transmission of cost reduction, standardization of processes, improvement in work flow and communications. © 2020 IEEE.

Integrated sensing and communications is regarded as a key enabling technology in the sixth generation networks, where a unified waveform, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal, is adopted to facilitate both sensing and communications (S&C). However, the random communication data embedded in the OFDM signal results in severe variability in the sidelobes of its ambiguity function (AF), which leads to missed detection of weak targets and false detection of ghost targets, thereby impairing the sensing performance. Therefore, balancing between preserving communication capability (i.e., the randomness) while improving sensing performance remains a challenging task. To cope with this issue, we characterize the random AF of OFDM communication signals, and demonstrate that the AF variance is determined by the fourth-moment of the constellation amplitudes. Subsequently, we propose an optimal probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) approach by maximizing the achievable information rate (AIR) under the fourth-moment, power and probability constraints, where the optimal input distribution may be numerically specified through a modified Blahut-Arimoto algorithm. To reduce the computational overheads, we further propose a heuristic PCS approach by actively controlling the value of the fourth-moment, without involving the communication metric in the optimization model, despite that the AIR is passively scaled with the variation of the input distribution. Numerical results show that both approaches strike a scalable performance tradeoff between S&C, where the superiority of the PCS-enabled constellations over conventional uniform constellations is also verified. Notably, the heuristic approach achieves very close performance to the optimal counterpart, at a much lower computational complexity. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we present WMN-PSODGA hybrid simulation system for optimization of mesh routers in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs). We consider Chi-square distribution of mesh clients and compare the results of a Fast Convergence Rational Decrement of Vmax Method (FC-RDVM) with Linearly Decreacing Inertia Weight Method (LDIWM).
