Survival analysis of Kasturi tobacco plants in Jember district using the stratified cox and extended cox models.

In 2022, tobacco was the top export commodity, generating $106.3 million in sales. East Java Province contributes significantly to Indonesia's tobacco production, with an annual output of 188.6 thousand tons. Jember Regency is the area in East Java Province which is a Kasturi tobacco cultivation area. The productivity of Kasturi tobacco continues to decrease due to several factors that can affect the survival of the tobacco. This study aims to analyze the survival of Kasturi tobacco by creating stratified Cox and extended Cox models in order to handle factors that cannot fulfill the proportional hazard assumption. Based on the results of the analysis, the stratified Cox model is the best model with AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748 respectively, while the extended Cox has AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732 respectively. Variables that can significantly affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco are the variable concentration of ZA fertilizer, pesticide concentration. The addition of ZA fertilizer must be appropriate, because if excessive it can cause poisoning of tobacco plants. Likewise with pesticides, if excessive it will cause damage to the leaves. This policy can increase the productivity of Kasturi tobacco. Then, Jember Regency contributes greater export capacity. • This paper aims to determine the factors that affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco plants in Jember • By using the extended Cox model, the best one is obtained using the Heaviside function with AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732, respectively • The stratified Cox model is better than the extended Cox model, which has AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748, respectively

Metamodeling is used as a general technique for integrating and defining models from different domains. This technique can be used in diverse application domains, especially for purposes of standardization. Also, this process mainly has a focus on the identification of general concepts that exist in various problem domain and their relations and to solve complexity, interoperability, and heterogeneity aspects of different domains. Several diverse metamodeling development approaches have been proposed in the literature to develop metamodels. Each metamodeling development process has some advantages and disadvantages too. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of existing metamodeling development approaches and conduct a comparative study among them-eventually selecting the best approach for metamodel development in the perspective of digital forensics. © 2021, CC BY.

Database Forensics (DBF) domain is a branch of digital forensics, concerned with the identification, collection, reconstruction, analysis, and documentation of database crimes. Different researchers have introduced several identification models to handle database crimes. Majority of proposed models are not specific and are redundant, which makes these models a problem because of the multidimensional nature and high diversity of database systems. Accordingly, using the metamodeling approach, the current study is aimed at proposing a unified identification model applicable to the database forensic field. The model integrates and harmonizes all exiting identification processes into a single abstract model, called Common Identification Process Model (CIPM). The model comprises six phases: 1) notifying an incident, 2) responding to the incident, 3) identification of the incident source, 4) verification of the incident, 5) isolation of the database server and 6) provision of an investigation environment. The integration of terrestrial and satellite wireless communication networks offers a practical solution to enhance network coverage, connectivity, and cost-effectiveness. Moreover, in today’s interconnected world, connectivity’s reliable and widespread availability is increasingly important across various domains. This is especially more crucial for applications like the Internet of Things (IoT), remote sensing, disaster management, and bridging the digital divide. However, allocating the limited network resources efficiently and ensuring seamless handover between satellite and terrestrial networks present significant challenges. Therefore, this study introduces a resource allocation framework for integrated satellite-terrestrial networks to address these challenges. The framework leverages local cache pool deployments and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) to reduce time delays and improve energy efficiency. Our proposed approach utilizes a multi-agent enabled deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm (MADDPG) to optimize user association, cache design, and transmission power control, resulting in enhanced energy efficiency. The approach comprises two phases: User Association and Power Control, where users are treated as agents, and Cache Optimization, where the satellite (Bs) is considered the agent. Through extensive simulations, we demonstrate that our approach surpasses conventional single-agent deep reinforcement learning algorithms in addressing cache design and resource allocation challenges in integrated terrestrial-satellite networks. Specifically, our proposed approach achieves significantly higher energy efficiency and reduced time delays compared to existing methods. This research highlights the importance and addresses the need for efficient resource allocation and cache design in integrated terrestrial-satellite networks, paving the way for enhanced connectivity and improved network performance in various applications. The growing demand for location-based services in areas like virtual reality, robot control, and navigation has intensified the focus on indoor localization. Visible light positioning (VLP), leveraging visible light communications (VLC), becomes a promising indoor positioning technology due to its high accuracy and low cost. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of VLP systems. In particular, since VLC lays the foundation for VLP, we first present a detailed overview of the principles of VLC. Then, we provide an in-depth overview of VLP algorithms. The performance of each positioning algorithm is also compared in terms of various metrics such as accuracy, coverage, and orientation limitation. Beyond the physical layer studies, the network design for a VLP system is also investigated, including multi-access technologies, resource allocation, and light-emitting diode (LED) placements. Next, the applications of the VLP systems are overviewed. Finally, this paper outlines open issues, challenges, and opportunities for the research field. In a nutshell, this paper constitutes the first holistic survey on VLP from state-of-the-art studies to practical uses. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A map-based application is, by and large, useful to search for information about locations or places. The application, such as Google Maps, provides commuting or navigation information of a particular place. With the mobile version of Google Maps, people can get such information directly from their mobile devices. Google also has a directions interface that supports finding a navigational path between two specified locations. In recognizing an area surrounding the path, there is an algorithm to support that functionality, namely RouteBoxer. The recognized surrounding area can be utilized further by the application to identify places nearby. In finding a path's surrounding area, the RouteBoxer algorithm defines a grid of rectangles that cover the whole path and marks rectangles nearby by traversing the path. However, the algorithm's computational performance becomes unacceptably slow when the path contains many path points. The RouteBoxer algorithm accepts a collection of geolocation points to represent the path and a user-specified distance away from the path to identify the area surrounding the path. This research measures the algorithm performance while incorporating the Douglas-Peucker line simplification algorithm to reduce the number of points processed by the RouteBoxer algorithm, hence improve its processing performance. An experiment shows that the path simplification process reduces up to 99% points of a path, improves the original RouteBoxer calculation performance up to 87.8 times faster, and maintains its precision above 92.6%. © 2020 ACM.

Mozita is an application used by midwives to record and report the toddler nutritional status in the local health center (Puskesmas). In addition to nutritional status information, Mozita can present information that is used by heads of puskesmas, district health offices and provincial health offices for monitoring and decision making in terms of health policy based on nutritional status. To be able to increase application usage, feedback from users is needed. With USE Questionnaire-based usability testing covering aspects of Usefulness, Satisfaction and Easy of Use. Usability testing is focused on the interaction part of the user interface (midwife), as the main source of data collection. This study used 15 midwife respondents who were randomly drawn from puskesmas in the city area of Semarang. The technique used to measure usability testing is to provide an explanation and guidelines for using the Mozita application before respondents fill in the questionnaire using a Likert scale from 1 to 7. The questionnaire used is equipped with in-depth interviews for question items whose Likert scale value is less than equal to 3 The indepth interview aims to provide a focus on improving the Mozita application interface to suit user needs. The results of usability testing that has been done on the Mozita application shows that the value of the Usefulness component is 84.52%, Easy of Use is 83.53%, Easy of Learning is 80.95%, and Satisfaction is 85.03%. Based on the value of each component measured shows that the Mozita application has a high usability value that is equal to 83.52%, and makes it easy for users to carry out work more efficiently. Some user feedback related to satisfaction aspects, especially in the Mozita application layout section is still simple needs to be done for a better layout design. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is considered as an important component for future communication networks. In this paper, an air-to-ground (A2G) channel sounder is designed and implemented for UAV communication channel measurement and characterization. The channel impulse response (CIR) extraction is implemented on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) to improve extraction efficiency. Based on the channel characteristics under measured (or baseline) scenarios, a transfer learning neural network (TNN) framework is also proposed to predict the channel characteristics of other unmeasured (or transferred) scenarios. In the proposed framework, the baseline matrices of neural network parameters are obtained from the measurement data of baseline scenarios. The ray tracing (RT) simulation data is only used to obtain the extrapolation matrices where we utilize imperfect digital map and do not require a highly accurate RT simulation. Then the neural network driven by the baseline and extrapolation matrices is used to predict the channel characteristics of transferred scenarios. To verify the proposed prediction method, the channel characteristics including path loss, K-factor, and root mean square delay spread of a near-urban scenario are firstly measured. Then, the corresponding channel characteristics of a transferred dense-urban scenario are predicted by the proposed TNN method and validated by the measurement data. It is shown that the predicted channel characteristics are well consistent with the measured ones.

Institutional assessment in the current era is indispensable because of increasing global competition and economic and information growth. Assessment efforts were also carried out on various factors including improving the quality of lecturers, meeting study programs that were in line with national development needs, developing educational curricula, improving the quality of community services and research, and adding internal and external collaboration. It aims to strengthen management and governance so that it has good performance and makes the university a World Class University (WCU). Fulfillment of WCU criteria in faculties or departments is one of the steps to determine the strategy for achieving a tertiary institution by giving more weight to faculty excellence to encourage the use of relevant new criteria. Also, in the ranking process, there are different criteria or indicators in several ranking techniques in the world as a manifestation of performance appraisal of the overall implementation of the organization. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is a rating agency that evaluates university weaknesses and strengths and produces assessments that show achievement ratings. In contrast to fault diagnosis relying solely on a single sensor, the method of multi-sensor information fusion for fault diagnosis (MSIFFD) broadens the spectrum of available information sources. It is renowned for its high accuracy and reliability, traits that have attracted growing attention within the research community and led to the generation of a substantial body of publications. However, there is currently a lack of a comprehensive and systematic review in this domain. Thereby, this review aims to thoroughly explore all research achievements in the field of MSIFFD. At the outset, an analysis is undertaken to delineate the fusion level of multi-sensor information, with a specific focus on its location and types of inputs and outputs within the information flow. Subsequently, an examination of the six primary fundamental operations for amalgamating multi-sensor information is undertaken to clarify the motivations and processes involved in information fusion across various operations. Following this, factors influencing fusion diagnostics and strategies aimed at improving their performance are examined to explore approaches for enhancing fusion accuracy. The subsequent sections delve into the analysis of sensor types and application scenarios, providing a reference guide for practical applications. Finally, this review outlines potential future challenges in the field of MSIFFD and provides a range of recommendations and possible solutions for consideration. © 1963-2012 IEEE.
