High performance motion systems in the semiconductor industry can achieve higher tracking accuracy when the structural dynamics of the system are taken into account. This work proposes an LTV feedforward control scheme which is based on the approximation of the system dynamics at low frequencies. The plant approximation contains both the low frequency contribution and resonance dynamics of the dominant modes. As an example of a flexible structure, the damped Euler-Bernoulli beam is investigated with considering the stable inversion of the approximated plant for feedforward control design. The results show a remarkable increase in positioning accuracy of the system being the consequence of the presence of feedforward control forces even when the reference setpoint accelerations equal zero.

This paper shows a PI-D controller design method with a finite number of frequency responses(FNFR) model so that it stabilizes a closed-loop system and matches a transfer function of the closed-loop system to that of ideal model. In this paper FNFR model is introduced with a ratio of the discrete Fourier transformation of input and output signals. The main contribution of this paper is to propose a method to reduce the control problem to a convex optimization problem. The efficiency of the method with FNFR model is shown through experimental results via a magnetic levitation system © 2019 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

Improved understandings of two-phase transport in electrochemical gas-evolving systems are increasingly demanded, while high-performance imaging techniques using simplified instrumentations are not readily available. This work presents volumetric scanning acoustic microscopy (SAM) imaging for quantifying the dynamics of gas bubbles and electrolyte in porous Nickel electrodes with different wettability and structures during alkaline water electrolysis (AWE). We realize high-resolution 3D imaging at 10's µm level using high frequency spherically focused ultrasound. The high resolution allowed us to clearly visualize the spatial distributions of produced bubbles in the porous electrodes over time. Moreover, we are able to quantify the residual gas volume in an electrode and its coverage due to bubble evolution, which dominate its transport overpotential. Taking these advantages, we elucidate the impacts of electrodes' wettability and structures on their electrolysis performance, on a regular laboratory base. The obtained knowledge provides us important optimization guidelines of AWE designs and operating schemes. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamics of the biological system modeled by the fractional incommensurate order Van der Pol equations are investigated. The stability of the proposed fractional non-autonomous system is analyzed by varying both the fractional order derivative and system parameters. Moreover, very interesting phenomena such as symmetry, multi-stability and coexistence of attractors are discovered in the considered biological system. Numerical simulations are performed by considering the Caputo fractional derivative and results are reported by means of bifurcation diagrams, computation of the largest Lyapunov exponent, phase portraits in 2D and 3D projections.

This paper is focused on improving the output of post-edited Machine Translation. A novel recommender system is introduced in this paper that was created to help post-editors to correct translation created by the Machine Translation. The aim of the paper is to describe the design and functionality of the proposed system. With the usage of automated parser were analysed pairs of segments from Machine Translation and corresponding post-edition. The calculation of the likelihood of the recommendation was used to get the word with the highest probability that was selected based on the similarity in words, tags and lemmas. The introduced approach can help to create a versatile recommender system that helps post-editors to improve their translation. © Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2019.

SNPE-SRGAN: Lightweight Generative Adversarial Networks for Single-Image Super-Resolution on Mobile Using SNPE Framework

An image resulting from a low-resolution (LR) camera on the mobile phone has lower quality than a high-resolution(HR) camera on a DSLR. Meanwhile, the HR camera is pricing if compared with the LR camera. How to achieve a single-image quality on LR camera likewise on HR camera becomes essential research in the past years. Addressing this issue can be done by upscaling a single LR image. Recently, the super-resolution generative adversarial network (SRGAN) model is one of the state-of-the-art super-resolution(SR)models employed on single-image SR. However, implementing a deep learning model like SRGAN on a mobile device is challenging in computation power and resources. This study aims to develop a smaller and lower resources model while preserving single-image SR quality on mobile devices. To meet these objectives, we convert, quantize, and compress the SRGAN model on Snapdragon Neural Processing Engine (SNPE) as an example. We then validate the SRGAN on the DIV2K dataset on which improves the model performances. Besides, we conduct experiments on GPU, DSP environment. The experimental result confirmed that SNPE-SRGAN capable of achieves not only HR images' quality but also low latency by 0.06 second and smaller model by 1.7 Mb size running on DSP. Also, the SRGAN-DLC-Quantized running on GPU has a smaller size by 1.7 Mb and lower latency by 1.151 seconds compared with Non-quantized SRGAN-TensorFlow by 9.1 Mb and 1.608 seconds latency.

This paper investigates the high-speed train rescheduling (HSTR) problem under a partial station blockage and proposes an efficient problem-specific strengthen elitist genetic algorithm (PS-SEGA) for HSTR. An HSTR model that is subject to train operation constraints is established to minimize the total train delay. The PS-SEGA framework consists of the following main steps. Firstly, a permutation-based encoding method is developed to define an efficient search space based on a train departure sequence. A decoding method is employed to output the rescheduled timetable and objective value based on the departure sequence. Moreover, a hybrid initialization method involving an efficient heuristic strategy (EHS) is put forward to accelerate the convergence speed of Evolutionary algorithms (EAs). Using problem-specific knowledge, EHS generates an efficient and feasible solution for the initial population. Finally, a restart strategy is presented to maintain genetic diversity. Compared with other advanced EAs and their improved variants also using the PS-SEGA framework, experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PS-SEGA for addressing HSTR scenarios under the partial station blockage. As for the scenarios that CPLEX can not obtain optimal solutions within 10 minutes, PS-SEGA can all provide quasi-optimal solutions in real-time. Furthermore, compared with the other two strategies (i.e., First-Scheduled-First-Served and EHS), PS-SEGA can find the best departure sequence that can output the timetable with a quasi-optimal solution. © 2023, The Authors. The globalization of information has been present in several contexts and required in digital lathes with cutting-edge technology, both for private and public institutions. In Ecuador the need has been observed to invest in new technologies, in public institutions, be it education, in the electoral field or companies of other services. The objective was to analyze the benefits of Hyperledger technology in public institutions in Ecuador. The deductive method was used and a quantitative criterion was maintained, through the study of research papers that allowed a description of the use of said technology and its applicability in said organizations. The problem was oriented to the need to apply a technology that provides better processes and with greater security. It turned out that Hyperledger technology allowed us to work faster, reduce costs, environmentally friendly and provide greater security. It was concluded that the application of Blockchain Hyperledger technology provides a framework for public administrations, because it has improved the different transactions made, helped reduce fraud by applying encryption, minimized the possibility of error, and improved communication between government and citizen services.

Aiming at the problem of poor task versatility in the strategy learning of complex tasks and cannot be generalized to obstacle environments, a method for robots learning from demonstration based on Dynamic Movement Primitive (DMP) is proposed. This method divides the demonstration task into several subtasks, and uses DMP to model each subtask. We utilize the local weighted regression algorithm to learn the corresponding weight of each subtask. Then the task trajectory is obtained by sequentially combining the generated subtask trajectory. The obstacle avoidance coupling item is added to the DMP framework to generate the obstacle avoidance task trajectory. The UR5 robotic arm is used to perform grasp and place tasks on the simulation platform as a demonstration task to verify the method in this article.
