We have developed a pupil response robot called, “Pupiloid,” that generates pupil responses that are closely related to human emotions as well as gaze. Pupiloid can express human-like pupil response by using a mechanism that rotates feathers sterically. In this study, in order to create a smooth interaction between human and robot, we performed an analysis of pupil response during utterance by using a pupil measurement device. Based on the results, we propose a method in which the robot's pupil is dilated by being synchronized with the burst-pause of utterance. Then, we developed an advanced communication robot that was used with the Pupiloid in order to enhance the robot's affect during utterance. This advanced robot generates a vivid pupil response via mechanical structures based on the burst-pause of utterance. We carried out a sensory evaluation experiment under the condition that the robot speaks. The results demonstrated that the developed robot effectively enhances affect.

Software testing is a process of implementing a program with the aim of finding an error. A good test case is if the test has the possibility of finding an uncovered error. A successful test is if the test finds an error that was not initially found. One of the testing types available is black box testing. This paper proposes testing using black box testing technique. The black box testing method consists of several ways including equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, comparison testing, sample testing, robustness testing, and others. Among the many methods of testing, Boundary Value Analysis was chosen in this study. Boundary Value Analysis is a method of testing by determining the value of the lower limit and upper limit of the data that will be tested. This test is performed on the functions of Augmented Reality prototype of Indonesia fruit recognition by using the cloud method on Android mobile devices. From testing the distance of marker objects to Android mobile devices on cloud recognition using an Android camera shows that the higher the augmentable rating of the target image and the more the number of markers features detected, the easier the image will be tracked by AR. If the distance between the camera and the real object gets farther away, then the virtual object cannot be displayed. Testing with mobile devices using HSDPA, 3G and WIFI networks connecting a cloud database server to display virtual objects shows the average results of devices that use WIFI networks provide the fastest performance.

As a higher education institution, knowing which GPA of the semester has the most determinant to affecting the academic performance of students is important yet challenging. Therefore, this paper deliberates the usage of rough set theory based Maximum Dependency Attributes (MDA). The dataset is taken from the Directorate of Information systems (SISFO), Telkom University. The result showed that the most determinant attribute is 2th GPA, followed with 3rd GPA, Entrance Examination, 1st GPA, Academic Aptitude Test, and 4th GPA, respectively. By early knowing the most determinant attribute in which score of the m, a well-planned strategic program can be set during the institution academic study period. © 2017 IEEE.

Raman optical spectroscopy promises label-free bacterial detection, identification, and antibiotic susceptibility testing in a single step. However, achieving clinically relevant speeds and accuracies remains challenging due to weak Raman signal from bacterial cells and numerous bacterial species and phenotypes. Here we generate an extensive dataset of bacterial Raman spectra and apply deep learning approaches to accurately identify 30 common bacterial pathogens. Even on low signal-to-noise spectra, we achieve average isolate-level accuracies exceeding 82% and antibiotic treatment identification accuracies of 97.0±0.3%. We also show that this approach distinguishes between methicillin-resistant and -susceptible isolates of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA and MSSA) with 89±0.1% accuracy. We validate our results on clinical isolates from 50 patients. Using just 10 bacterial spectra from each patient isolate, we achieve treatment identification accuracies of 99.7%. Our approach has potential for culture-free pathogen identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing, and could be readily extended for diagnostics on blood, urine, and sputum. Nowadays, messaging technology in digital data form more often used and not less messages that confidentially wanted. Then it should be modified so that can be understood only by the sender and the intended recipients. All of this system can be realization by using cryptography. LUC algorithms are introduced by Smith and Lennon in 1993. LUC algorithm is an algorithm that based on the use of Lucas sequence (specific arithmetic operations derived from Lucas row) that rarely used to enhance the security of the messages. In this research, LUC algorithm is combined with visual cryptography to process the encryption and the description of a colored image. Four different images were used in the trial here. The performance of the system is assessed using Structural similarity (SSIM) which has an assessment similar to human eye. If the image quality is the same as the original image, then the SSIM value is one. Whereas if the quality of decryption image is very different from the original image then the value of SSIM is zero. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The Imperialist Competitive Algorithm for Optimal Multi-Objective Location and Sizing of DSTATCOM in Distribution systems Considering Loads Uncertainty

The optimal location and sizing of distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) in distribution systems is a complex nonlinear problem. This problem is constrained by various technical limits and can offer different objectives that would provide many benefits to the network. These include minimization of power losses, index of voltage profile, load balancing index, and annual cost saving index which have been considered in this paper. In the present work, the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) is employed for optimizing the distribution systems where an optimal location and sizing of DSTATCOM is investigated. In this study, an aggregating operator named Max-geometric mean is used for combination of objectives and providing overall objective function. The scaling of objectives is performed in the fuzzy framework. The proposed algorithm is implemented in 33 and 69 buses IEEE test systems. Furthermore, the uncertainty of the loads of the balanced system is modeled by using a fuzzy technique. Based on the numerical results of this work, one can extract that the performance of the ICA is slightly higher than other meta-heuristic algorithms; hence the introduced approach can be used by utility services for optimal DSTATCOM allocation and sizing in the distribution systems.

Multispectral sensors calibration for lightweight UAV

Using a suitable gimbal sensor, a lightweight multispectral sensor weight less than 500 g, such as visible imagery in the 400-700 nm (4000x3000 pixels), NIR imagery in the 520-920 nm region (2048 x 1536 pixels) and thermal 8-14µm (160x120 pixels) were placed on low-cost Hexacopter UAVs to perform aerial acquisitions of oil palm plant at very low altitude. Reliability data analysis is generated from the correction of undesirable and defect of sensor characteristics. Here, the sensor correction and calibration such as geometric, radiometric, vignetting, resolution and directional effects. Radiometric calibration using an upwelling water methodology where with thermosensor, the coefficient of determination, R2 = 1 and without thermosensor, R2 = 0.9455. For multi-temporal or multi-sensor image analysis, relative DN-to-radiance radiometric calibration was performed by using the white material as calibration, then convert the other colored area without the material based on the ratio of the white panel area and the color reflected in that area and compatible with in-situ spectroscopy device.

This paper represents a novel regenerative braking approach for the Electric Vehicles. The proposed method solves the short-range problem which is corresponding to the charge of the battery pack. The DTC switching algorithm has been modified to recover the electrical energy from Electrical Vehicle (EV), driven by Brushless DC motor, without using the additional power converter or the other electrical energy storage devices. During regenerative braking process, different switching pattern is applied to the inverter to convert the mechanical energy to the electrical energy through the reverse diodes. This switching pattern is different from the normal operation due to the special arrangement of voltage vectors which is considered to convert the mechanical energy to electrical energy. The state of charge of the battery is used as a performance indicator of the method. Simultaneously, a model reference adaptive system has been designed to tune the system's parameters. Several simulations are carried out to validate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed methods. The results show the high capability and performance of the designed method.
