We introduce comparisons w.r.t. information between interpretations in paraconsistent description logics and use them to define bisimilarity for such logics. This notion is useful for concept learning in description logics when inconsistencies occur. We give preservation results and the Hennessy-Milner property for comparisons w.r.t. information in paraconsistent description logics. As consequences, we obtain also invariance results and the Hennessy-Milner property for bisimilarity in paraconsistent description logics. © 2017 - IOS Press and the authors. All rights reserved.

Automated color classification of urine dipstick image in urine examination

Urine examination using urine dipstick has long been used to determine the health status of a person. The economical and convenient use of urine dipstick is one of the reasons urine dipstick is still used to check people health status. The real-life implementation of urine dipstick is done manually, in general, that is by comparing it with the reference color visually. This resulted perception differences in the color reading of the examination results. In this research, authors used a scanner to obtain the urine dipstick color image. The use of scanner can be one of the solutions in reading the result of urine dipstick because the light produced is consistent. A method is required to overcome the problems of urine dipstick color matching and the test reference color that have been conducted manually. The method proposed by authors is Euclidean Distance, Otsu along with RGB color feature extraction method to match the colors on the urine dipstick with the standard reference color of urine examination. The result shows that the proposed approach was able to classify the colors on a urine dipstick with an accuracy of 95.45%. The accuracy of color classification on urine dipstick against the standard reference color is influenced by the level of scanner resolution used, the higher the scanner resolution level, the higher the accuracy.

Hybrid Symbiotic Organisms Search for Optimal Fuzzified Joint Reconfiguration and Capacitor Placement in Electric Distribution systems

Network reconfiguration and capacitor allocation are two valuable tools to optimally manage distribution systems. In the present work, an efficient algorithm is proposed for the joint problem of reconfiguration and capacitor placement in distribution systems. The multi-objective problem is formulated to minimize objective functions of total network power losses, bus voltage violation, and branch loading deviations subject to different technical and operational constraints. To enhance exploration ability, the Symbiotic Organisms Search algorithm is strengthened with Particle Swarm Optimization capabilities to develop the Hybrid Symbiotic Organisms Search algorithm, which is applied to solve the proposed problem. Objective functions are fuzzified and aggregated by a geometric mean operator to have the same scales. The proposed joint optimization problem is solved with the introduced Hybrid Symbiotic Organisms Search algorithm in two different case studies of balanced and unbalanced test systems. According to obtained results that are compared with some well-known evolutionary algorithms, the superiority of the Hybrid Symbiotic Organisms Search algorithm is confirmed in terms of solution optimality and convergence speed.

Heart rate variability (HRV) is known to be correlated with emotional arousal, cognitive depletion, and health status. Despite the accurate HRV detection by various body-attached sensors, a contactless method is desirable for the HCI purposes. In this research, we propose a non-invasive contactless HRV measurement by Microsoft Kinect 2 sensor with Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (RSA) correction. The Infrared and RGB cameras are used to measure the heart rate signal, and its 3D Depth sensor is employed to capture the human respiratory signal to correct the initially calculated HRV with RSA. The correlation analysis among the calculated HRVs by different methods and devices showed a significant improvement in reliable HRV measurements. This study enlightens the researchers and developers to choose a proper method for HRV calculations based on their required accuracy and application.

Improvement of Data Exchange Security on HTTP using Client-side Encryption

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is a standard data exchange protocol over the web. Currently, HTTP is still widely used to handle communication between client and server. However the related researches show that data exchange via HTTP is still vulnerable because the data sent is in the form of plaintext. To overcome the problem, the available solutions are using Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) and Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (SHTTP). However, some results of related researches show HTTPS and SHTTP still have some weaknesses. Based on these problems, this study proposes a method of securing HTTP using Client-side Encryption. In this research, the encryption algorithm used is Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) dynamic key. Encryption method was performed by encrypting the data on the side of the web browser before it was sent, then the decryption process was done on the web server side. The testings of this research were performed in case of login authentication. The results show the proposed method has successfully secured data exchange on HTTP.

Towards collaborative conceptual exploration

In domains with high knowledge distribution a natural objective is to create principle foundations for collaborative interactive learning environments. We present a first mathematical characterization of a collaborative learning group, a consortium, based on closure systems of attribute sets and the well-known attribute exploration algorithm from formal concept analysis. To this end, we introduce (weak) local experts for subdomains of a given knowledge domain. These entities are able to refute and potentially accept a given (implicational) query for some closure system that is a restriction of the whole domain. On this we build up a consortial expert and show first insights about the ability of such an expert to answer queries. Furthermore, we depict techniques on how to cope with falsely accepted implications and on combining counterexamples. Using notions from combinatorial design theory we further expand those insights as far as providing first results on the decidability problem if a given consortium is able to explore some target domain. Paper describes the development of prototype that enables monitoring of heart rate and inter beat interval for several subjects. The prototype was realized using ESP8266 hardware modules, WebSocket library, nodejs and JavaScript. system architecture is described where nodejs server acts as the signal processing and GUI code provider for clients. Signal processing algorithm was implemented in JavaScript. Application GUI is presented which can be used on mobile devices. Several important parts of the code are described which illustrate the communication between ESP8266 modules, server and clients. Developed prototype shows one of the possible realizations of group monitoring of biomedical data.
