Numerous connected machines compose the Internet of Things (IoT) like sensors and actuators, via wired or wireless networks. The number of IoT apps, including Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs), Healthcare, Smart communities, and Wearable have recently risen significantly. Data Protection and Security is becoming more critical as the number of IoT-linked devices grows. In this paper, we suggest a new deep learning-based intrusion detection system (DL-IDS) to identify security breaches in IoT environments to address the difficulties of protecting IoT applications. There are several IDSs developed by researchers, optimal learning and management of data set functions are neglected, which are essential problems that impact the accuracy of tracking threats. To achieve optimum detection recognition, the presented framework incorporates the SMO technique and the Deep stacked polynomial network. SMO chooses the optimal features in the data, and SDPN categorizes it as regular or vulnerable. The presented model is analyzed for performance assessment in comparison to the state-of-The-Art decision-making models. In terms of accuracy, recall, precision, and F-score, the detailed review suggests that presented technique acquires enhanced performance and is immensely efficient. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) systems, encompassing a wide range of devices and sensors with limited battery life, has highlighted the critical need for energy-efficient solutions to extend the operational lifespan of these battery-powered *** effective strategy for reducing energy consumption is minimizing the number and size of retransmitted packets in case of communication errors. Among the potential solutions, Incremental Redundancy Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (IR-HARQ) communication schemes have emerged as particularly compelling options by adopting the best aspects of error control, namely, automatic repetition and variable *** work addresses the challenge by developing a simulator capable of executing and analysing several (H)ARQ schemes using different channel models, such as the Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Gilbert-Elliott (GE) models. The primary objective is to compare their performance across multiple metrics, enabling a thorough evaluation of their *** results indicate that IR-HARQ outperforms alternative methods, especially in the presence of burst errors. Furthermore, its potential for further adaptation and enhancement opens up new ways for optimizing energy consumption and extending the lifespan of battery-powered IoT devices.

Experimental evaluation of MU-MIMO in TDD environment for 5G NR using exploiting channel reciprocity

5G New Radio (NR) operates in two frequency ranges viz. Frequency Range 1 (sub-6 GHz band) and Frequency Range 2 (millimeter wave communication). It utilizes Time Division Duplex (TDD) communication, allowing the same frequency band for uplink and downlink transmission using sounding reference signals. These signals help estimate channel conditions for scheduling downlink traffic. Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) technology enables simultaneous data transmission to multiple users using multiple antennas. This study examines MU-MIMO performance in TDD by analyzing variables like radio conditions, modulation schemes, code rates, precoding algorithms, and sub-carrier spacing. Simulation results show that Zero Forcing (ZF) precoding outperforms Block Diagonalization (BD) and Regularized Zero Forcing (RZF) in good radio conditions. However, in bad radio conditions, RZF performs better than ZF. Choosing higher code rates in 16 and 64-QAM and lower code rates in 256-QAM from the MCS table improves throughput. This indicates that MCS and user selection are crucial for higher throughput in TDD-based MU-MIMO for 5G NR. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Text Information Retrieval in Tetun: A Preliminary Study

Tetun is one of Timor-Leste’s official languages alongside Portuguese. It is a low-resource language with over 932,400 speakers that started developing when Timor-Leste restored its independence in 2002. The media mainly uses Tetun, and more than ten national online newspapers actively broadcast news in Tetun every day. However, since information retrieval-based solutions for Tetun do not exist, finding Tetun information on the internet is challenging. This work aims to investigate and develop solutions that can enable the application of information retrieval techniques to develop search solutions for Tetun. Exploring Large Language Models for Relevance Judgments in Tetun

The Cranfield paradigm has served as a foundational approach for developing test collections, with relevance judgments typically conducted by human assessors. However, the emergence of large language models (LLMs) has introduced new possibilities for automating these tasks. This paper explores the feasibility of using LLMs to automate relevance assessments, particularly within the context of low-resource languages. In our study, LLMs are employed to automate relevance judgment tasks, by providing a series of query-document pairs in Tetun as the input text. The models are tasked with assigning relevance scores to each pair, where these scores are then compared to those from human annotators to evaluate the inter-annotator agreement levels. Our investigation reveals results that align closely with those reported in studies of high-resource languages. © 2024, CC BY.

Properly created and securely communicated,non-disclosure agreement(NDA)can resolve most of the common disputes related to outsourcing of offshore software maintenance(OSMO).Occasionally,these NDAs are in the form of *** the work is done offshore,these agreements or images must be shared through the Internet or stored over the *** breach of privacy,on the other hand,is a potential threat for the image owners as both the Internet and cloud servers are not void of *** article proposes a novel algorithm for securing the NDAs in the form of *** an agreement is signed between the two parties,it will be encrypted before sending to the cloud server or travelling through the public network,the *** the image is input to the algorithm,its pixels would be scrambled through the set of randomly generated rectangles for an arbitrary amount of *** confusion effects have been realized through an XOR operation between the confused image,and chaotic ***,5D multi-wing hyperchaotic system has been employed to spawn the chaotic vectors due to good properties of chaoticity it *** machine experimentation and the security analysis through a comprehensive set of validation metric vividly demonstrate the robustness,defiance to the multifarious threats and the prospects for some real-world application of the proposed encryption algorithm for the NDA images.

VehicularAd hoc Network(VANET)has become an integral part of Intelligent Transportation systems(ITS)in today’s *** is a network that can be heavily scaled up with a number of vehicles and road side units that keep fluctuating in real *** is susceptible to security issues,particularly DoS attacks,owing to maximum unpredictability in ***,effective identification and the classification of attacks have become the major requirements for secure data transmission in *** the same time,congestion control is also one of the key research problems in VANET which aims at minimizing the time expended on roads and calculating travel time as well as waiting time at intersections,for a *** this motivation,the current research paper presents an intelligent DoS attack detection with Congestion Control(IDoS-CC)technique for *** presented IDoSCC technique involves two-stage processes namely,Teaching and Learning Based Optimization(TLBO)-based Congestion Control(TLBO-CC)and Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU)-based DoS detection(GRU-DoSD).The goal of IDoS-CC technique is to reduce the level of congestion and detect the attacks that exist in the *** algorithm is also involved in IDoS-CC technique for optimization of the routes taken by vehicles via traffic signals and to minimize the congestion on a particular route instantaneously so as to assure minimal fuel *** is applied to avoid congestion on ***,GRU-DoSD model is employed as a classification model to effectively discriminate the compromised and genuine vehicles in the *** outcomes from a series of simulation analyses highlight the supremacy of the proposed IDoS-CC technique as it reduced the congestion and successfully identified the DoS attacks in network.

The trend towards smart greenhouses stems from various factors,including a lack of agricultural land area owing to population concentration and housing construction on agricultural land,as well as water *** study proposes building a full farming adaptation model that depends on current sensor readings and available datasets from different agricultural research *** proposed model uses a one-dimensional convolutional neural network(CNN)deep learning model to control the growth of strategic crops,including cucumber,pepper,tomato,and *** proposed model uses the Internet of Things(IoT)to collect data on agricultural operations and then uses this data to control and monitor these operations in real *** helps to ensure that crops are getting the right amount of fertilizer,water,light,and temperature,which can lead to improved yields and a reduced risk of crop *** dataset is based on data collected from expert farmers,the photovoltaic construction process,agricultural engineers,and research *** experimental results showed that the precision,recall,F1-measures,and accuracy of the one-dimensional CNN for the tested dataset were approximately 97.3%,98.2%,97.25%,and 97.56%,*** new smart greenhouse automation system was also evaluated on four crops with a high turnover *** system has been found to be highly effective in terms of crop productivity,temperature management and water conservation.

We study an optimal investment problem that arises in the context of the vehicle-sharing system. Given a set of locations to build stations, we need to determine i) the sequence of stations to be built and the number of vehicles to acquire in order to obtain the target state where all stations are built, and ii) the number of vehicles to acquire and their allocation in order to maximize the total profit returned by operating the system when some or all stations are open. The profitability associated with operating open stations, measured over a specific time period, is represented as a linear optimization problem applied to a collection of open stations. With operating capital, the owner of the system can open new stations. This property introduces a set-dependent aspect to the duration required for opening a new station, and the optimal investment problem can be viewed as a variant of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) with set-dependent cost. We propose an A* search algorithm to address this particular variant of the TSP. Computational experiments highlight the benefits of the proposed algorithm in comparison to the widely recognized Dijkstra algorithm and propose future research to explore new possibilities and applications for both exact and approximate A* algorithms. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
