EduPlanner: LLM-Based Multiagent Systems for Customized and Intelligent Instructional Design

Large language models (LLMs) have significantly advanced smart education in the artificial general intelligence era. A promising application lies in the automatic generalization of instructional design for curriculum and learning activities, focusing on two key aspects: 1) customized generation: generating niche-targeted teaching content based on students' varying learning abilities and states and 2) intelligent optimization: iteratively optimizing content based on feedback from learning effectiveness or test scores. Currently, a single large LLM cannot effectively manage the entire process, posing a challenge for designing intelligent teaching plans. To address these issues, we developed EduPlanner, an LLM-based multiagent system comprising an evaluator agent, an optimizer agent, and a question analyst, working in adversarial collaboration to generate customized and intelligent instructional design for curriculum and learning activities. Taking mathematics lessons as our example, EduPlanner employs a novel Skill-Tree structure to accurately model the background mathematics knowledge of student groups, personalizing instructional design for curriculum and learning activities according to students' knowledge levels and learning abilities. In addition, we introduce the CIDDP, an LLM-based 5-D evaluation module encompassing Clarity, Integrity, Depth, Practicality, and Pertinence, to comprehensively assess mathematics lesson plan quality and bootstrap intelligent optimization. Experiments conducted on the GSM8K and Algebra datasets demonstrate that EduPlanner excels in evaluating and optimizing instructional design for curriculum and learning activities. Ablation studies further validate the significance and effectiveness of each component within the framework. © 2008-2011 IEEE.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) worldwide makes major advancements through the Internet of Things (IoT) by enabling real-time monitoring and prediction analytics and automatic decision capabilities in worldwide deliver chains. Through IoT technology integration with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain and cloud computing the supply chain solves major operational problems including monitoring difficulties and waste reduction and regulatory compliance requirements and operation leadership deficits. The implementation of IoT for supply chain management encounters major adoption barriers from high installation costs combined with security risks and operability complications as well as limited scalability capacity that affects especially small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and developing markets. The evaluation paper examines the shifting impact of IoT in supply chain management which enhances performance metrics and brings greater clarity and strengthens supply chain resilience. A scientist studied existing papers and case studies to reveal several essential advantages which include better inventory management, predictive analysis systems and more effective supply-chain collaborations. The analysis emphasizes effective solutions for security privacy and moral and environmental issues to guarantee sustainable expanded IoT adoption. This paper delivers practical knowledge alongside best practices to help organizations adopt IoT systems which create adaptable efficient deliver chains with sustainability at their core thus achieving long-term market benefits in today's complex global marketplace. © 2025 IEEE.

The current paper proposes a new approach for peripheral speech emotion analysis and gender estimation incorporating the best machine learning architectures such as CNNs and LSTMs. Its correct depiction of emotions and the variation of the gendered speech to indicate manifold signal-to-noise ratio make the approach accommodate the difficulty inherent in recognizing emotions from the recording of voices as well as predicting the gender of a speaker. It is then able to ally with preprocessing and collection of a vast range of different speech samples, feature extraction of pitch, tone and spectral data. These features serve as input to the CNNs and LSTMs: LSTMs work well at temporal regular features and the CNNs work well in feature extraction by location (spatio feature). The approach is tested on the RAVDESS and IEMOCAP datasets and establishes a near perfect match to prior approaches with reference to recognition accuracy of emotion analysis and gender prediction. Thus, applying the identified dual method approach, which could be described by such characteristics as highly accurate data pre-preprocessing, clear indication of the features of interest, a different CNN-LSTM model joint training, it offers a reasonably good platform to gain certain insights into such characteristics of the speech as our experiment demonstrates. This work offers satisfactory configurations on concerns such as human computer relation, customer relation and mental health surveillance to suggest that other applications could be achieved in future. © 2025 IEEE.

In the contemporary business landscape, software has evolved into a strategic asset crucial for organizations seeking sustainable competitive advantage. The imperative of ensuring software quality becomes evident as low-quality software systems pose formidable challenges to organizational performance. This study delves into the profound impact of three key dimensions of information system quality on organizational performance—information quality (IQ), quality of service (QoS), and software quality (SQ). Anchored in the DeLone and McLean information system (IS) success model, a quantitative questionnaire was administered to 360 industry experts and academics. Rigorous data analysis, employing exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation modeling (SEM), revealed significant positive effects of all three quality dimensions on organizational performance. Among these dimensions, software quality emerged as the most influential, showcasing substantial total effects, closely followed by information and service qualities. The study underscores the tangible value derived from strategic investments in enhancing software, information, and service quality. Elevating these facets manifests as a catalyst for improved organizational performance, empowering decision-makers with accurate and timely information while enhancing user satisfaction with the system. This research contributes significantly to the IS success literature by empirically validating the synergistic relationship between information quality, service quality, software quality, and organizational outcomes. The systematic analysis offered in this study goes beyond theoretical validation, providing actionable insights for managers. The findings guide the prioritization of quality initiatives and resource allocation, enabling organizations to maximize competitive advantage. In the evolving field of cybersecurity, detecting phishing websites poses a unique challenge, primarily due to the issue of class imbalance. This research proposes a novel approach by combining the SMOTETomek resampling technique with the XGBoost classifier to tackle this challenge. SMOTETomek, a hybrid technique that combines SMOTE with Tomek Links, addresses both oversampling and undersampling by enhancing minority class representation while eliminating ambiguous instances. The proposed SMOTETomek-XGB model consistently surpasses traditional classifiers across key performance metrics, including accuracy, F1 score, recall, precision, and ROC-AUC. This combination significantly improves phishing detection, advancing the state of the art in mitigating online threats. The results suggest that SMOTETomek-XGB is an essential tool for enhancing detection capabilities in cybersecurity. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

This work considers the problem of the noisy binary search in a sorted array. The noise is modeled by a parameter p that dictates that a comparison can be incorrect with probability p, independently of other queries. We state two types of upper bounds on the number of queries: the worst-case and expected query complexity scenarios. The bounds improve the ones known to date, i.e., our algorithms require fewer queries. Additionally, they have simpler statements, and work for the full range of parameters. All query complexities for the expected query scenarios are tight up to lower order terms. For the problem where the target prior is uniform over all possible inputs, we provide an algorithm with expected complexity upperbounded by (log2 n + log2 δ−1 + 3)/I(p), where n is the domain size, 0 ≤ p 0 is the failure probability, and I(p) is the information gain function. As a side-effect, we close some correctness issues regarding previous work. Also, en route, we obtain new and improved query complexities for the search generalized to arbitrary graphs. This paper continues and improves the lines of research of Burnashev-Zigangirov [Prob. Per. Informatsii, 1974], Ben-Or and Hassidim [FOCS 2008], Gu and Xu [STOC 2023], and Emamjomeh-Zadeh et al. Epileptic seizures, a prevalent neurological condition, necessitate precise and prompt identification for optimal care. Nevertheless, the intricate characteristics of electroencephalography (EEG) signals, noise, and the want for real-time analysis require enhancement in the creation of dependable detection approaches. Despite advances in machine learning and deep learning, capturing the intricate spatial and temporal patterns in EEG data remains challenging. This study introduced a novel deep learning framework combining a convolutional neural network (CNN), bidirectional gated recurrent unit (BiGRU), and convolutional block attention module (CBAM). The CNN extracts spatial features, the BiGRU captures long-term temporal dependencies, and the CBAM emphasizes critical spatial and temporal regions, creating a hybrid architecture optimized for EEG pattern recognition. Evaluation of a public EEG dataset revealed superior performance compared to existing methods. The model achieved 99.00% accuracy in binary classification, 96.20% in three-class tasks, 92.00% in four-class scenarios, and 89.00% in five-class classification. High sensitivity (89.00–99.00%) and specificity (89.63–99.00%) across all tasks highlighted the model’s robust ability to identify diverse EEG patterns. This approach supports healthcare professionals in diagnosing epileptic seizures accurately and promptly, improving patient outcomes and quality of life. © 2025 American Institute of Mathematical sciences. Maximizing Entanglement Routing Rate in Quantum Networks: Approximation Algorithms

There will be a fast-paced shift from conventional network systems to novel quantum networks that are supported by the quantum entanglement and teleportation, key technologies of the quantum era, to enable secured data transmissions in the next-generation of the Internet. Despite this prospect, migration to quantum networks cannot happen all at once, especially when it comes to quantum routing. In this paper, we focus on the maximizing entanglement routing rate (MERR) problem, which aims to determine entangled routing paths for the maximum number of demands in the quantum network while meeting the network's fidelity. To tackle this problem, we first formulate the MERR problem using an integer linear programming (ILP) model. We then leverage the method of linear programming relaxation to devise two efficient algorithms, including the half-based rounding algorithm (HBRA) and the randomized rounding algorithm (RRA) with a provable approximation ratio for the objective function. Furthermore, to address the challenge of the combinatorial optimization problem in big scale networks, we also propose the path-length-based approach (PLBA) to solve the MERR problem. Finally, we evaluate the performance of our algorithms and show up the success of maximizing the entanglement routing rate. © 2013 IEEE.

Efficient and fine-grained access control with fully-hidden policies for cloud-enabled IoT

Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption(CP-ABE) enables fine-grained access control on ciphertexts, making it a promising approach for managing data stored in the cloud-enabled Internet of Things. But existing schemes often suffer from privacy breaches due to explicit attachment of access policies or partial hiding of critical attribute content. Additionally, resource-constrained IoT devices, especially those adopting wireless communication, frequently encounter affordability issues regarding decryption costs. In this paper, we propose an efficient and fine-grained access control scheme with fully hidden policies(named FHAC). FHAC conceals all attributes in the policy and utilizes bloom filters to efficiently locate them. A test phase before decryption is applied to assist authorized users in finding matches between their attributes and the access policy. Dictionary attacks are thwarted by providing unauthorized users with invalid values. The heavy computational overhead of both the test phase and most of the decryption phase is outsourced to two cloud servers. Additionally, users can verify the correctness of multiple outsourced decryption results simultaneously. Security analysis and performance comparisons demonstrate FHAC's effectiveness in protecting policy privacy and achieving efficient decryption.

Publication performance and trends in virtual reality research in education fields: a bibliometric analysis

Virtual Reality (VR) technology has the potential to enhance education by providing immersive and engaging learning experiences that can improve teaching and learning outcomes. While there is a growing interest in utilizing VR in education settings, further research is needed to understand its pedagogical effectiveness and address associated considerations and challenges. This bibliometric study comprehensively analyzes 1,157 relevant articles from the Social science Citation Index (SSCI) and the science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EPANDED) to gain insights into the current state of VR integration in education. The analysis revealed variation in VR adoption and research output across countries and institutions, underscoring the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the field. Key research areas and trends, such as the use of VR for skill development and training, were identified. Additionally, the study highlighted the need for more research on the pedagogical effectiveness of VR. The findings carry practical implications for guiding future research shaping policy decisions and advocating for a concerted effort to harness VR’s capabilities in education. This study serves as a practical roadmap, promoting the implementation and improvement of VR technology and fostering equitable and inclusive educational practices. © The Author(s) 2024.
