A Trombe wall-heating system is used to absorb solar energy to heat *** parameters affect the system performance for optimal *** study evaluated the performance of four machine learning algorithms—linear regression,k-nearest neighbors,random forest,and decision tree—for predicting the room temperature in a Trombe wall *** accuracy of the algorithms was assessed using R^(2)and root mean squared error(RMSE)*** results demonstrated that the k-nearest neighbors and random forest algorithms exhibited superior performance,with R^(2)and RMSE values of 1 and *** contrast,linear regression and decision tree showed weaker *** findings highlight the potential of advanced machine learning algorithms for accurate room temperature prediction in Trombe wall systems,enabling informed design decisions to enhance energy efficiency.

The agriculture industry contributes one-third of the worldwide Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Moreover, a substantial number of developing countries rely on their agricultural output as it offers job prospects for a considerable portion of the impoverished population. This necessitates the use of techniques to guarantee the precise and effective identification of plant diseases to minimize any detrimental consequences on the crops. Recently, the application of quantum-enhanced techniques to machine learning tasks including recommendation systems, classification, and regression has increased significantly. For this reason, this work suggests using the hybrid quantum-based Resnet18 transfer learning model to categorize and diagnose diseases that impact the leaves of maize plants. The dataset employed consists of four categories including Leaf Blight, Grey Leaf spots, Common Rust, and Healthy leaves. When compared to Resnet18 without quantum, this method outperforms it in terms of recall, accuracy, precision, and f1-score. The validation accuracy of 87% is achieved using the model. In the future, the proposed effort can serve as a practical tool to aid farmers in recognizing the diseases and safeguarding their maize crops. © 2024 IEEE.

Automatic Speaker Identification (ASI) is so crucial for security. Current ASI systems perform well in quiet and clean surroundings. However, in noisy situations, the robustness of an ASI system against additive noise and interference is a crucial factor. An investigation of the impact of interference on ASI system performance is presented in this paper, which introduces algorithms for achieving high ASI system performance. The objective is to resist the interference of various forms. This paper presents two models for the ASI task in the presence of interference. The first one depends on Normalized Pitch Frequency (NPF) and Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) as extracted features and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) as a classifier. In this model, we investigate the utilization of a Discrete Transform (DT), such as Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Discrete Sine Transform (DST), to increase the robustness of extracted features against different types of degradation through exploiting the sub-band decomposition characteristics of DWT and the energy compaction property of DCT and DST. This is achieved by extracting features directly from contaminated speech signals in addition to features extracted from discrete transformed signals to create hybrid feature vectors. The enhancement techniques, such as Spectral Subtraction (SS), Winer Filter, and adaptive Wiener filter, are used in a preprocessing stage to eliminate the effect of the interference on the ASI system. In the second model, we investigate the utilization of Deep Learning (DL) based on a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with speech signal spectrograms and their Radon transforms to increase the robustness of the ASI system against interference effects. The Internet of Things(IoT)is a modern approach that enables connection with a wide variety of devices *** to the resource constraints and open nature of IoT nodes,the routing protocol for low power and lossy(RPL)networks may be vulnerable to several routing ***’s why a network intrusion detection system(NIDS)is needed to guard against routing assaults on RPL-based IoT *** imbalance between the false and valid attacks in the training set degrades the performance of machine learning employed to detect network ***,we propose in this paper a novel approach to balance the dataset classes based on metaheuristic optimization applied to locality-sensitive hashing and synthetic minority oversampling technique(LSH-SMOTE).The proposed optimization approach is based on a new hybrid between the grey wolf and dipper throated optimization *** prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach,a set of experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of NIDS for three cases,namely,detection without dataset balancing,detection with SMOTE balancing,and detection with the proposed optimized LSHSOMTE *** results showed that the proposed approach outperforms the other approaches and could boost the detection *** addition,a statistical analysis is performed to study the significance and stability of the proposed *** conducted experiments include seven different types of attack cases in the RPL-NIDS17 *** on the 2696 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 proposed approach,the achieved accuracy is(98.1%),sensitivity is(97.8%),and specificity is(98.8%).

Routing techniques (RTs) play a critical role in modern computing systems that use network-on-chip (NoC) communication infrastructure within multiprocessor system-on-chip (MPSoC) platforms. RTs contribute greatly to the successful performance of NoC-based MPSoCs due to traffic congestion avoidance, quality-of-service assurance, fault handling and optimisation of power usage. This paper outlines our efforts to catalogue RTs, limitations, recommendations and key challenges associated with these RTs used in NoC-based MPSoC systems for the IoT domain. We utilized the PRISMA method to collect data from credible resources, including IEEE Xplore ®, scienceDirect, Association for Computing Machinery and Web of science. Out of the 906 research papers reviewed, only 51 were considered relevant to the investigation on NoC RTs. The study addresses issues related to NoC routing and suggests new approaches for in-package data negotiating. In addition, it gives an overview of the recent research on routing strategies and numerous algorithms that can be used for NoC-based MPSoCs. The literature analysis addresses current obstacles and delineates potential future avenues, recommendations, and challenges analyzing techniques to assess performance utilizing metrics within the TCCM framework. © 2024 College of Education, Al-Iraqia University. The recent advancements in vision technology have had a significant impact on our ability to identify multiple objects and understand complex *** technologies,such as augmented reality-driven scene integration,robotic navigation,autonomous driving,and guided tour systems,heavily rely on this type of scene *** paper presents a novel segmentation approach based on the UNet network model,aimed at recognizing multiple objects within an *** methodology begins with the acquisition and preprocessing of the image,followed by segmentation using the fine-tuned UNet ***,we use an annotation tool to accurately label the segmented *** labeling,significant features are extracted from these segmented objects,encompassing KAZE(Accelerated Segmentation and Extraction)features,energy-based edge detection,frequency-based,and blob *** the classification stage,a convolution neural network(CNN)is *** comprehensive methodology demonstrates a robust framework for achieving accurate and efficient recognition of multiple objects in *** experimental results,which include complex object datasets like MSRC-v2 and PASCAL-VOC12,have been *** analyzing the experimental results,it was found that the PASCAL-VOC12 dataset achieved an accuracy rate of 95%,while the MSRC-v2 dataset achieved an accuracy of 89%.The evaluation performed on these diverse datasets highlights a notably impressive level of performance.

Assistive mobile applications play a pivotal role for visually impaired individuals worldwide. These applications often face challenges in currency recognition due to varying perspectives, inconsistent illumination, and background clutter. This issue is especially pressing in developing countries like Thailand, where there is a notable gap in robust currency recognition systems, particularly for the new Thai currency notes. This study employs a deep learning approach using a convolutional neural network (CNN) to automate the recognition of the new Thai currency notes. Using transfer learning, we fine-tuned the CNN using the Xception model, renowned for its depth-wise separable convolution. The network trained on a meticulously curated dataset comprising 3600 images (without data augmentation) of five different denominations of the new Thai currency (20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 baht) notes, captured under various conditions. The resulting model achieved an average training accuracy of 99.5% and a validation accuracy of 99.8%. Given its robustness and high accuracy, the model can be integrated into an Android application. Such an application would offer a user-friendly and reliable tool for visually impaired individuals to effortlessly identify the new Thai currency notes in their everyday transactions. © 2024 IEEE.

Full-marathon and Half-marathon distances are categorized as road running. Full-marathon running is becoming increasingly popular, and Half-marathon is increasing worldwide in both sexes and all age groups. Some aspects might relate to Full-marathon and Half-marathon running performance during training and races. Technology also plays an essential role in supporting runners and running races. Technology like artificial intelligence (AI) now supports the running athlete, not only predicting performance and results. It can also be used later to help the coach generate training programs for the athlete. This research aimed to find many aspects of marathons and performance and analyze them to see if artificial intelligence could later support them. It used secondary data and a systematic literature review proposed by Kitchenham. Out of the 58 articles, 21 of them (36.21%) received a score of 1 from Q1. Additionally, 19 articles (32.76%) received a score of 1 from both Q2 and Q3. Among the 58 articles, 9 (15.52%) received a total score of 3, with all three Q1, Q2, and Q3 scores being 1. This indicates that artificial intelligence will likely support the content of these nine articles. Several factors were also discovered to be connected to marathons and athletic performance. These findings suggested that additional investigation into marathons and performance, later backed by artificial intelligence, remained pertinent and essential. © 2024 IEEE.

Forest fires are a growing threat to human commu-nities. The Canadian Wildland Fire Information System gives realtime information to fire management agencies and the public. However, machine learning use for forest fire ignition classification prediction within the platform and ones like it, is yet to be fully realized. We propose a novel framework that uses federated machine learning combined with Internet of Things technologies, for forest fire ignition classification prediction. The framework incorporates distributed IoT weather stations deployed in an area prone to forest fires. We find comparable prediction accuracy between a federated machine learning system and a central server machine learning system. Our federated system, trained on an imbalanced dataset comprising 5,008,365 non-ignition cases and 45,411 ignition instances, has shown encouraging outcomes. It attained an Accuracy of around 0.76 and a ROC-AUC of about 0.80. The performance is on par with other systems, indicating that our approach is effective in classifying forest fire ignitions with a spatial resolution markedly superior to that of centralized systems. © 2023 IEEE.
