We propose a novel approach of knowledge visualization method by adopting graph-based visualization technique and incorporating Dashboard concept for higher education institutions. Two aspects are emphasized, knowledge visualization and human-machine interaction. The knowledge visualization helps users to analyze the comprehensive characteristics of the students, lecturers and subjects after the clustering process and the interaction enable domain knowledge transfer and the use of the human's perceptual capabilities, thus increases the intelligence of the system. The knowledge visualization is enhanced through the dashboard concept where it provides significant patterns of knowledge on real-world and theoretical modeling which could be called wisdom. The framework consists of the system architecture and design for higher education environment is presented in this paper.

The rapid growth of computer technologies and the advent of the World Wide Web have increased the amount and the complexity of multimedia information. A content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system has been developed as an efficient image retrieval tool, whereby the user can provide their query to the system to allow it to retrieve the user's desired image from the image database. However, the traditional relevance feedback of CBIR has some limitations that will decrease the performance of the CBIR system, such as the imbalance of training-set problem, classification problem, limited information from user problem, and insufficient training-set problem. Therefore, in this study, we proposed an enhanced relevance-feedback method to support the user query based on the representative image selection and weight ranking of the images retrieved. The support vector machine (SVM) has been used to support the learning process to reduce the semantic gap between the user and the CBIR system. From these experiments, the proposed learning method has enabled users to improve their search results based on the performance of CBIR system. In addition, the experiments also proved that by solving the imbalance training set issue, the performance of CBIR could be improved.

Uncertain and incomplete requirements throughout the whole software life cycle contribute to volatility of the requirements. In a situation where the volatile requirement is changed to satisfy stakeholder needs, all the affected requirements and other impacted software artefacts (such as designs, codes, and tests) must be identified and changed accordingly. This paper introduces an approach to facilitate both engineers and users in propagating changes from requirements to the software high-level designs during software development and evolution. The two main pillars of this approach, namely product metamodel and process model are described in details. Firstly, the metamodel highlights on explicit conceptual model for volatile requirement and its characteristics. Next, the focus will be placed on the systematic process model specified using the SPEM that offers guidelines to perform the requirement change process. The applicability of the product metamodel and its elements are evaluated using the IFAMMS case study application.
