A large fraction of the Internet traffic is organized by the Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). CDNs redirect endusers to an appropriate server using Domain Name Servers (DNSs). Meanwhile, in future networks, it is anticipated that network routers will be equipped with more processing power and storage modules for providing most effective end-user services. From this viewpoint, a Service-oriented Router (SoR) is introduced to accelerate content-based services. This paper presents a novel method, DNS and SoR Collaborative Redirection (DSCR), to accelerate the end-user redirection. DSCR uses SoRs to collect and store network and server state information by placing SoRs at edges of the ISP network. The collected information is then used by the DSCR to leverage the DNS-based end-user redirection. We present the design and a prototype implementation of DSCR and, show how both SoR and DNS jointly can take advantage of existing Internet architecture to accelerate end-user redirection. We used a detailed simulation to evaluate the proposed method using various strategies. Simulations clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the collaborative method, which yields 5-10% reduction in end-user latency when compared with DNS-based redirection. © 2016 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

Nowadays, green products are getting popular in their acceptance by the Malaysian consumers. Due to the advancement of the Internet technologies and the wide spread of electronic word of mouth (E-WOM), consumers seem to be more influenced in purchasing the green products. In this study, consumers' demographic profiles, such as age, gender, income, education background, and occupation are being explored to investigate their influences on consumers' green product purchase intention. The purpose of this paper is to showcase the results of the differences between several demographic profile groups on green product purchase intention using descriptive analysis, ANOVA and independent sample T-Test. T-test results showed that there is a statistically significant difference between gender on consumers' green product purchase intention. Meanwhile, the results generated by ANOVA indicated that there are no significant differences between age, income, education background and occupation on consumers' green product purchase intention. These results shed light on the potential market segment that should be targeted by marketers and producers of green products in Malaysia.

Mining class association rules (CARs) with the itemset constraint is concerned with the discovery of rules, which contain a set of specific items in the rule antecedent and a class label in the rule consequent. This task is commonly encountered in mining medical data. For example, when classifying which section of the population is at high risk for the HIV infection, epidemiologists often concentrate on rules which include demographic information such as gender, age, and marital status in the rule antecedent, and HIV-Positive in the rule consequent. There are two naive strategies to solve this problem, namely pre-processing and post-processing. The post-processing methods have to generate and consider a huge number of candidate CARs while the performance of the pre-processing methods depend on the number of records filtered out. Therefore, such approaches are time consuming. This study proposes an efficient method for mining CARs with the itemset constraint based on a lattice structure and the difference between two sets of object identifiers (diffset). Firstly, a lattice structure is built to store all frequent itemsets in the dataset. To reduce memory usage, instead of the entire set of object identifiers, the diffset is used. Secondly, the lattice is traversed to generate only rules which satisfy the itemset constraint. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing methods in terms of both the mining time and memory usage. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Population distribution pattern is directly related with economic gap of a region. Analysis of population distribution pattern is usually performed by studying statistical data on population. This study aimed to analyze population distribution pattern using image analysis concept, i.e. using satellite images. Levelset and morphological image filtering methods were used to analyze images to see distribution pattern. The research result showed that Levelset and morphological image filtering could remove a lot of noises in analysis result images and form object edge contours very clearly. The detected object contours were used as references to recognize population distribution pattern based on satellite image analysis. The pattern made based on the research result didn't show optimal result because Levelset performed image segmentation based on the contours of the analyzed objects. Other segmentation methods should be combined with it to produce clearer population distribution pattern.

This paper aims to develop a sensor based monitoring and analyzing system for Neuro-Degenerative Disorder patients (NDD); this may consist on SpO2 sensor, Electrophysiological sensors, NIBP, Motion Capture sensors and Eye Monitoring sensor, taking into consideration an acceptable cost for the whole system. Recorded data will be sent to an embedded decision making unit where detection, analysis, classification, prediction and action control will occur. The sensors and the decision making unit will be implemented in a comfortable jacket that doesn't affect the patients' movements and that can be used by several patients with reduced sensor placement alterations. The decision that can be made is creating a stimulus to avoid falling in case of sudden stop while moving, initiating an alarm, sending a notification to a mobile phone application, and/or telemedicine monitoring features. Artificial Neural Networks will be used to classify and predict the abnormal cases where action should be taken, and since the sensors will be continuously recording, it is possible to achieve continuous learning for the ANN as a first phase. Initial models will be defined by testing normal behaviors and some known abnormal behaviors or symptoms related to the electrical activity and other characteristics of the heart, oxygen saturation level, eye activity and body motion.

Long Term Evolution (LTE) network provides a high throughput with low latency which make it suitable for multicast and broadcast services. In Conventional Multicast Scheme (CMS), data is transmitted according to the user with worst channel condition which results in wasting network resources. To overcome the drawback of CMS, a new subgrouping mechanism is proposed to split the multicast group into several subgroups based on users channel quality. The performance of the proposed mechanism has been evaluated using LTE simulator. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism increase the multicast performance compared to CMS in term of goodput and spectrum efficiency, while maintain fairness index of users in an acceptable level.

Small hydropower plants (SHP) are increasingly constructed in recent years as a substitution of the use of conventional energy materials such as wood and fossil fuel in remote rural regions. Besides new constructed plants, upgrading operational strategies of existed systems for increasing electricity productivity is also significant. Motivated by this issue, a combination of two techniques, simulation and optimization based on models is frequently used to improve the operation regimes of coordinated reservoir cascades. However, the application of a complex hydraulic model consumes a huge computation time. Hence, this paper proposes a replacement for the complex hydraulic model by an adaptive time delay (ATD) model. The cutting- edge point is that the ATD model is able to quickly predict the system dynamics both in simulation and optimization. This ATD model consists of only two parameters: time constant and time delay which are functions of unsteady flow and can be easily derived from complex hydraulic models (HECRAS, MIKE11), or from physical parameters of rivers (flow rate, roughness, bed slope, cross section). The integration of the ATD model into the simulation and optimization techniques will be demonstrated by a case study of a cascade of SHPs. In terms of optimization, a non-linear constrainted optimization algorithm is applied to improve electricity production to meet the scheduled demand.

The paper deals with improving the accuracy of the sensors under influence of non-informative factors. There are described the generalized block diagram of the data acquisition system and its measurement channels which provide the sensors signal processing. The generalized block diagram of the calculation process is proposed, and the structure of used neural networks is shown. Both scheme and algorithm of data processing are described. The measurement error of the proposed system was evaluated. It confirmed that proposed system adds the error of 0.32% which is very small in comparison with the etalon mean of 1%. The proposed system allows use of the sensors with a significant influence of non-informative factors.

In this tutorial presentation we focus on the construction of Lyapunov or storage functions for large-scale networked control systems (NCSs) in which sensors, controllers and actuators are connected via multiple (local) communication networks which operate asynchronously and independently of each other. Within each packet-based communication network only one node can communicate at a given transmission time (requiring communication protocols) and the transmission intervals and delays may vary over time. These artefacts cause network-induced communication errors in the overal closed-loop system and can be detrimental for stability and performance. For these NCSs we provide explicit constructions of Lyapunov functions by modelling the large-scale NCS as an interconnection of a finite or even an infinite number of hybrid subsystems, and combining 'local' Lyapunov functions for the controlled dynamics (including network-induced errors) and the protocols in a systematic manner. These constructions lead to the numerical computation of maximum allowable transmission intervals (MATIs) and maximum allowable delays (MADs) for each of the individual networks. The availability of the Lyapunov or storage functions guarantee properties such as global asymptotic or exponential stability, input-to-state stability (ISS) and, L_p-stability for the large-scale NCS. Interestingly, the control performance expressed in terms of ISS and L_p-gains can be traded with the network parameters (MATIs and MADs). Hence, tradeoffs can be made between the quality-of-control of the overal hybrid system and the required quality-of-service of the underlying communication infrastructure. Also event-triggered communication schemes will be shortly discussed. The results are illustrated with an example of vehicle platooning.

ICT becomes a key element to improve industrial infrastructure efficiency and sustainable economic productivity. This study aims to analysis the impact of regional improvement on information and communication development in Indonesia. This research is a correlational study. Population of this research include 151 regions in Indonesia. By using a total sampling, there were 151 sample regions. The results show there are the strong impact of regional growth on increasing Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of information and communication. It can be seen from all regional improvement sub variables that have a high correlation in increasing GRDP of Information and Communication in Indonesia. Only two sub-variables that have low correlation to GRDP of Information and Communication variable i.e. GRDP of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (0.01) and GRDP of Mining and Quarrying (0.04). The correlation coefficient (R) is 0.981, means the variable of information and communication GRDP has a very strong correlation with regional growth variable. Thus the value of Adjusted R Square is 95.8%, means there are impact of regional growth variables in increasing GRDPof Information and Communication, while the increase of 4.2% of Information and Communication GRDP is influenced by other factors aside from regional improvement.
