In past decades, we have seen that the increasing speed of the network attacks compromising computer system functionality and degrading network performance. The security of these systems has attracted a lot of research in the field of intrusion detection and response system to reduce the effect of these attacks. Response is a major part of intrusion detection system. Intrusion detection system without a timely response is not considered good even they detect threat and generate alarms. Optimum response is based on the selection of proper response option. In this paper, we categorize the attacks and propose some response option to thwart these attacks.

Distributed animation rendering systems are used to speed up of rendering i.e the computational-intensive phase of producing animation. How to develop softwares with high availability and efficiency is a hot topic in distributed animation rendering systems. In this paper, based on model checking method for system modeling, three modules(i.e. rendering management server, rendering nodes and storage system) are modeled and analyzed. Firstly, by analyzing the system's typical infrastructure, messages-driven finite state machines of such three modules are studied. Then, the properties of such three modules are described using CTL(Computational Tree Logic). Furthermore, safety and livenesses are verified with SMV(Symbolic Model Verification). The methodology of this paper offers important theoretical guide to software development.

A group key management has an important role in multicast security in order to achieve data integrity and confidentiality. The session key is a common secret key for a group of users in key trees that is shared securely and efficiently among them. It is used to encrypt other session keys and transmitted data in order to protect group communication. This paper proposed a new key management protocol using Multiple Logical key trees for dynamic groups. To minimize the communication overhead of rekeying process, a one-way key derivation are integrated with multiple logical key trees. New keys created by the server of the key tree are not sent to the members who are able to derive their own keys. As a result each rekeying process requires less number of encrypted keys sent within the group tree. The performance analysis of the proposed scheme shows that it has less communication cost than the other compared protocols.

A semantics-based approach of space subdivision for indoor fine-grained navigation

Indoor navigation systems have become very popular in recent years. The effortless indoor space subdivision that generates reasonable navigation network for fine-grained navigation remains challenging. In this paper, we propose SSFGiNav-an approach of indoor space subdivision based on the combination of geometric and semantic information, particularly door semantics for indoor fine-grained navigation. Indoor space is subdivided based on its physical structure at first and then navigable/non-navigable and other possible semantics is used to subdivide the subspaces. The indoor corridor space is subdivided through the designed corridor semantic partitioning (CSP) algorithm by the positions of the doors. We present an indoor navigation network model and an automatic generation approach of navigation network from the results of space subdivision further using semantics between doors and rooms. Experimental results reveal that SSFGiNav provides an effective solution to the generation of indoor fine-grained navigation network and reduce the effort significantly ©, 2015, Binary Information Press. Existing business processes in a clinical laboratory located in Bekasi are still run manually. It takes a lot of time to do more processes, especially in customer service and procurement units. These inefficient processes are analysed *** utilisation of Information technology (IT) supports the operations of a company and even improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a company. However, the use of information technology must be balanced with the readiness of existing resources to operate. Without supporting resources, especially human resources available, information technology is nothing. The Business Reengineering Process method used to comprehend the existing business process, determines processes to be reengineered, investigates alternative redesign, simulates the existing business processes and the proposed business processes, performs an analysis of simulation results, and seeks corporate opportunities using information technology. This Business Process Reengineering (BPR) research helped the clinical laboratory especially in customer service and procurement in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes that will ultimately reduce cost and time. Results showed that business processes increase with information technology utilisation and minimise the use of employees.

Life event sensor is an activity recognition sensor both for measuring electric power and for detecting usage of electronic devices by utilizing high frequency current waveform as a signature of each device. To discuss the feasibility of the sensor, we have constructed a long-term data collection system and installed the system in five occupied houses. Discussion about feasibility of the life event sensor on long-term field data and experimental data on a test bed, which can simulate several conditions of power line, is described in this paper.

Position-based routing protocols have become increasingly popular in mobile ad-hoc networks because they can use geographical node position information to route data packets to their destinations. Each node periodically sends its geographical position information to its neighbours by using beacon packets. Data packet routing in position-based routing protocols uses the neighbours' position information that is stored in the node's neighbour list to route the data packet from the source to the destination. Most recent studies on position-based routing protocols assume that the position information in the node's neighbour list is accurate, although only a rough estimate of this position information is actually available to the nodes. In general, inaccuracy occurs when inaccurate geographical position information is used. This study presents an analysis and a simulation to examine the influence of position information inaccuracy caused by beacon packet interval-time and node speed mobility parameters on the performance of position-based routing protocols. © 2014 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

High blood pressure is a highly heritable and modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease. We report the largest genetic association study of blood pressure traits (systolic, diastolic and pulse pressure) to date in over 1 million people of European ancestry. We identify 535 novel blood pressure loci that not only offer new biological insights into blood pressure regulation but also highlight shared genetic architecture between blood pressure and lifestyle exposures. Our findings identify new biological pathways for blood pressure regulation with potential for improved cardiovascular disease prevention in the future.

Semantic conflicts detection is considered to be one of the essential steps that should be carried out effectively, in order to pave the way towards establishing semantic interoperability between heterogeneous Web services. To achieve that, ontology plays the backbone of the detection process, which required to be implemented in a high quality manner. However, choosing a methodology to build this ontology is very difficult, since a considerable number of methodologies have been emerged to guide the ontology development process. Therefore, this study aims at reviewing and comparing the most accepted and used methodologies, with the aim of choosing an effective methodology from ontology engineering perspective to be recommended and used for building semantic conflicts detection ontology. Furthermore, to provide some useful insights for both theoretical and practical purposes to help ontology developers to choose the right methodology and to advance the state of the art. The comparison was performed against the common ontology development life cycle. The result of this survey and comparison recommend a methodology called METHONTOLOGY to be used for implementing semantic conflicts detection ontology. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2014.

The aim is to build a system that takes the source text as an input and the result will be a summery which contains sentences preserve the main theme of the source. We use a statistical approach to solve the problem of Arabic text summarization. Many researches which study Arabic text summarization problem focus on how writers of articles write, here we make a system take the advantage of how readers of an article read and make comments on article. Our approach assign scores for each segment of an article depending on the location of the sentences, the size of each sentence and term frequency on the article and comments of readers. Our system tested by 100 human evaluators, We gave each evaluator a copy of the summary produced by our system, with a question about the connectivity of ideas and sentences in and asked them to evaluate the summary. We asked them to answer by rejected, not-related, satisfactory, good, accepted, to test our approach which focus on readers' comments to summarize articles. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2015.
